Top Gear Test Track - Beat The Stig

Top Gear - Power Laps

Since there's no tie in whatsoever between the program and GT5 other than the Test Track, I started this so we can have some fun.
The rules are simple:
-Pick any car you want from the Power Laps: http://www.topgear.com/uk/tv-show?LapType=Power-Laps
-Go to Arcade -> Time Trial -> Top Gear Test Track
-There's a blue square before the starting line, stop there before you start your lap. Easiest way to do this is switch to bumper cam, move up until the blue square is in the bottom right corner of your screen.

-No invalid lap time. If it's turn red, restart.
-Only the fastest times (1 using wheel, 1 using controller) will be updated. Thread will be update every 24 hours.

Car restrictions:
-Any car will have to be bone stock. Only oil change allowed.
-Car bought from the Used Car Lot can be restored (engine, chassis, oil change), that's it.

To submit your lap time, please follow this format:
-Car
-Time
-Please specify if you use Wheel/Controller
Have fun and looking forward to see some wicked fast time from you guys.

I start closer to the line so it's invalid anyway but I did a 1.17.1 in stock veyron. No real need for picture as I started closer to the line.
 
Nice idea. I might have a go at this later. I'm hoping Top Gear do a section on GT5 next series since we know they have an interest, what with Clarkson playing GT4 previously and their co-operation with the track being in GT5. They just have to! Ideally they'll get a bunch of cars that are in GT5 and then thrash them around for us to try and replicate :)

I took out the picture requirement, too much hassle for some. Run it again from the blue square and I'll put yours up.
 
You could simply put "- confirmed" or "- unconfirmed" next to the times depending on whether or not they provided a picture. At least everyone gets included then.

The Blue square is the start? I've been using the drain right before the stripe as my starting point, as that's about where the timer starts.

Anyone know what GT-R they used for their lap? was it the 07 or 09?

07, there's no carbon fiber spoiler on the car they used.
 
Reserved, I'll be running a stock Supra.. If I happen to get one tonight.

Also will run a 300gt vr-4 turbo. These are the only stock cars I will have at the moment.
 
Hmm.. this isn't easy to cheat on (sarcasm)

Thank you PD for not allowing us to do a standing start, ugh. Did anyone at PD even bother watching the show? It was clearly just a marketing gimmick.

Anyways on a similar topic has anyone tried to beat clarkson and sabines time around the nurburg in the S-Type?
maybe someone will start a new thread for that. or have they?
 
I'm either going to try and do the Viper SRT10 or the Spyker. I have a lot of cars on the Powerboard. I want to get the 599. I have the Scuderia.

I'm guessing the R8 they used was the V8 version and not the V10, right?

Isn't there a better list of cars in GT5 that are on the powerboard?

I added another Leader Board for any car in GT5. Your time will go on that because on the show they used the '07 model (without carbon fiber spoiler)

I used to do this in GT4 - the only issue is GT only has the S-Type R, and Clarkson and Sabine used an S-Type Diesel.
 
Murcielago did a 1'19.9, can still go quicker I reckon. Why have some times got (w)? Can you get the trck in wet?

ZR1 1'19.9 also.

I got gold on the first and last specials. just that elise one to do.
now just waiting for my PS3 to be fixed so I can get in on the lap times.
