Not on the new ones.
Like said- if you have an old one, I have a Fatty and I can play anything PS1, PS2, PS3 but the slims can't (and I heard some Fat Models can't either).

All PS3s can play PS1 games - it's PS2 games that are restricted to certain, early models. GT2 is a PS1 game so, yes, your PS3 can play GT2.
