Seriously, it's just impossible to keep this car in straight line at Mulsanne !!!!!

My G27 do this >> <<< >>>> <<<<< > >>>>>

I need to use my knee to hold the car on the Mulsanne Straight !
And it still do it << >>> ....

HELP !!

It's not that it's impossible, it's just really really hard. I have to use both my hands to hold down the wheel(I usually only drive with one hand on the wheel and the other on the shift knob).

Try lowering the force feedback.

There's something wrong with this car. I starts getting out of control around 200mph on a straight line. WTF? I can get the Toyota GT-ONE to 230mph without a fight.

There has to be some way to tune the X2010, but I don't see any details on how to do it right.

It's the dead zone issue with some of the wheels, mentioned in other threads. If you could only adjust the dead zone it would be alright.

There might be a way around it by changing the toe angle and/or camber settings on the car, but haven't tried messing with it yet..

I would say just deal with it, I tried turning down the FFB for the Vettel challenge and there was horrible shaking which woke everyone up.

In real life the Mulsanne straight is a tad bumpy in places. LM cars are designed with this in mind other, eg F1 cars, are not. If Bob can handle it, so can we.

It's not the bumps, it does the same thing on Daytona and Indy. Any straight line, no matter how smooth.

It gets very shaky at high speed, definitely need two hands on the wheel to control it. With the controller it's obviously much easier because there is not much FFB.

I use the DFGT, once I made the switch from the controller, I barely drive the x1 now, I feel it's going to break my wheel.

I have the feeling that this is going to break some of the G25/G27 wheels... toning down the FFB doesn't seem to help, seemed as if the noise got worse.

I did notice that the shaking noise is less if you set active steering to off instead of mild/strong in driving options, but still everytime I drive the X1 on a bumpy straight I pray that the FFB motors don't fail on me.

Anyway, if you think this is 'normal', then try an online or arcade race with mechanical damage set to light and damage your front wheels. With normal cars your wheel just pulls to one side, but with the X1 it sounds as if your wheel is going to explode any minute

I'm running the 24hr LM race now in b-spec so can't try, but could someone try messing with the toe angle of the X1 front wheels? If you find the right toe angle setting, shouldn't that make the front end more stable on straights.

It's a problem with both the car and the wheel.

The X1 has absolutely...zero wheel travel. There is nothing between any tiny miniscule imperfections in the road and your wheel, and because of the incredible steering ratio it just massively amplifies the force. Hit a bump at speed and it'll rip it out of your hands. Even at lower speeds this is a problem; try a Ferrari 458 or even a GT500 car and because they have some form of suspension it's drivable.

The G27 suffers from this the most because it's probably got the most powerful force-feedback of ANY wheel out there (must have two motors or something?). This can be a good thing, I've not once had it drop out whereas the Fanatec wheels just 'lose their motors' and go dead occasionally when cornering hard (130R at Suzuka is a heck of a bad place to lose feedback). However, that works against you with the X1's feedback.

Apparently (I haven't tried), you can get the wheel to work without being plugged into the power source, so you can drive the X1 with no feedback at all, no steering weight either.

I like the massive feedback though. It just makes the car that more intense when you're trying to drive at 400+km/h. You can (if you're good) straighten he wheel perfectly. This results in no thrashing.

I use a G25, never experienced this problem. Sure, it pulls a little on that straight, but you just have to control it, be firm. No problem.

Control is not the problem for me.. It's just the fear of breaking my G25 that keeps me from driving the X for longer periods of time...

i use driving force gt with 10 of feedback, professional and no assist and though is hard, is fun to drive a x2010. no problem keeping it straight as long as you use both hands and you are precise.

Those saying it's no problem, are either not experiencing the problem, or are full of it. There is no way driving the X1 is supposed to be like that. Why can you get other cars to similar speeds on a straight and they go straight and smooth like an arrow, while the X1 jumps around like a kangaroo on crack. It doesn't make sense.

I know this is more than likely a set-up issue with the car or wheel. However, do you happen to be driving down the centre of the road? The crown in the road is noticeable at Le Mans and in a race car with low ground clearance this is always an issue.

This is not the issue, it drives exactly the same at Daytona and Indy, no matter if you drive on the left, center or right side of the track. Or down the Monza straight. If the road is straight, X1 says "no can do, I only do corners."

Right. So like I said, it's most likely a set up issue. My wheel does move around but not a lot. I have changed my set up.

Try maxing the TCS and all the other aids.

Sit close to the wheel and brace your elbows. This helps.

Softening springs and shocks, raising ride height are ideas to try.

This might be another reason why a "real" X2010 would be impossible for a human to drive. I made lvl 35 and got the car, but I haven't bothered to drive it yet. So far, it's Bob's toy and my moneymaker to get LM cars. However, I think that the idea of simply unplugging the steering wheel. But, I would really be interested in a tune that would make the car manageable. On the other hand, my first thought was that maybe it'd be simpler just to slow down, since the car annihilates every other in the game. Driving it at its imaginary limit sounds like a chore.

Soften the suspension, that thing is set up as standard for GP/F1 tracks which are like driving on hardwood floors compared to LeMans/Nurburg etc.

I tried changing the toe and/or camber angles. No effect.
I tried all the different aids on/off. They changed the problem from a -- -- -- -- frequency to --------- ... so now the wheel sounds like a machine gun or a jack hammer going down a straight. No help. I tried spring rates, etc. No effect.

With DS3 the car goes straight like an arrow. That's how it's obviously supposed to be, you don't constantly have to correct it from left to right.

The only thing that partly works is what Dotini said, sitting very close to the wheel and bracing your elbows on your knees. That way you get a firm enough stance so the wheel doesn't have any room to start dancing. But again, that's not a position you would want to drive a 2 hour race in, or even a 10 minute one. This game is supposed to be fun, not pain and agony forcing you to hunch down in your chair like a frog. 👎

I've also got the G27, and the same problem. Mine also goes like ><><><><><><>>><<<<>>>>><<< and then >>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<
