I heard from multiple people on here that the 1 million limit has been lifted. Has it really been lifted? Can i still send out Free X2010 cars?

For the time being it is apparently, however who knows how long it will last. I just recieved an x2010 and sent a R390 Racecar.

Sounds like PD actually listened to people's rants.

/speculation

I have really held off on the moaning but these guys dont seem to have a clue on what they are doing with the game.

i ve sent a msg to a PSN friend saying about the limit, and he told me that he sent an expensive car last night :S
I will try to sent a 2j (that owe) in an hour or so, cause bob is running now an ill post the results.

I just managed to send a Ferrari F10 that a friend let me for the seasonal events back.
He was under the impression that the lift on the Cr limit of cars being gifted is only temporary. And the 1 million Cr limit will revert in a little while.

Unless they want to do a major overhaul of the gifting system (up to and including just getting rid of it for good since they're encouraging people to share cars online instead of gifting) or lock down game saves again, one gift per day per console is pretty darn effective at discouraging rampant duping yet allowing what would cover most "legitimate" uses of gifting. If they wanted to make life even harder for dupers, they could do something along the lines of one gift per IP address so that it would cover most people that might have more than one PS3. The 1 million credit cap for cars that are giftable is pretty ludicrous.

The 1 car per day per PS3 is certainly not lifted though

Currently you can only send the following from a PS3 no matter how many accounts you have on it:

1 car or ticket
5 items
5 paints

There was a twitter message announcing the ban had been lifted temporarily to allow people to return cars to their rightful owner.

It will be back to 1m shortly.

Once again...

Link the car level to a race level. Make it so you can only use the X2010 on say, a level 30 or 40 race. People will then have to do the work required to get the car and no one is running an X2010 in the Sunday cup (which is hilarious on B-Spec, btw), and no one has a real reason to cheat. There's no real reason then TO dupe the real high end cars and everyone is happy (yeah, right...). Then you could trade cars all day long but if you haven't put in the effort, it will do you no good.

How is this not a common sense solution? Why did PD not do this? Oh, I forgot; it's PD...

Here is proof of the trading limit loss - me trading a Miura!

Sorry about the blur, shook it a bit as I was taking. Should still be relatively readable though :guilty:

So you mean that you still can send +1 milion cars to other people then?

As I posted in another topic:

Maybe this will clear up the confusion.

When 1.07 hit, here is what was included. One trade per PS3 ID per day. (MAC Addy, Serial number). Also included was the ability to only trade cars with a value under $1,000,000 credits.

I know this for a fact as I could not send an FGT to my other accounts on another PS3 or to accounts on the same PS3.

At some point in the day, PP, which I assume heard the angry roar from the community, updated the game server side with no patch on our side needed. This eliminated the trade credit restriction, yet still, the one trade per PS3 per day still applies.

To change that, they would need patch 1.08 due to the fact it gathers information client side to match your PS3 to other accounts and sub accounts.

So there you go. Now can we all please stop arguing and get racing? Thank you.

There is now a news item on the GT5 main menu news section about this issue. In this news article it states that the limit is disabled until the 3rd of March.

How is this not a common sense solution?
Because it uses the same stupid level-based logic. All that was required in A-Spec/B-Spec were proper restrictions (e.g. Sunday Cup: max 200HP or something like that, or actually being limited to hatchbacks in the Hot Hatch event, instead of being able to enter with your Chrome Line Murcielago ;)). Levels (the way they are implemented now) are simply time locks, they have nothing do to with skill. And with seasonal events and remote racing, they have become useless. With proper restrictions in place, there wouldn't have been need for levels. This would mean that anybody would be able to buy any car that's available (if they have enough credits), but would only able to enter it in an appropriate event (like you said: no X2010 in Sunday Cup :)). Also, people would have been able to choose how they proceed through the events from the start (this has been solved by seasonals and remote racing, but shouldn't have been an issue in the first place).

The way I see it, PD is implementing fix on fix on fix, but the fundamental game mechanics remain flawed. With proper restrictions, economics and a proper trade system (a real online system, so duping is eliminated), there wouldn't have been need for all these fixes: no trade limit, no sell limit, no limits whatsoever, just proper game mechanics.

For the game fundamentals to be okay, all they had to do was tweak the restrictions, rewards and XP a bit. Then add the new features, like the remote race and a proper trade system.
