Done with the series after 5 games.

Fantasy tracks(Cape Ring, Aiger?, Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, Tokyo, Autumn Ring, Clubman, Rome, Spain track all suck).

Real world tracklist is very disappointing (reused Fuji, Tskuba are terrible, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Nurburgring, Monaco also reused and lost their appeal since they were also the only decent ones in GT4). Daytona, Monza, Indy, Nurburgring GP are fine. 4 decent new tracks for a "racing" game.

They made bspec more prominent (WTF?) and 99% of the prize cars are standard. F1 championship, I have to grind 4.5 million for a standard f1 car...WOW.

Cockpit views, FINALLY!!!!! Only you made them so you can't see out of half of them, even with the zoom feature.

Online racing! Great! Too bad every cuts every possible corner and rams you. Game is full of non racers who buy the game for graphics.

Sold it for $14.

Fair enough, why did you feel the need to tell us about this though?

On a similar note, I think I'm done with real-world racing too, since all the series just reuse the same tracks and cars every year, over and over, and some of the drivers just plain suck. Embarassing.

lol GT5 city tracks are amazing and PD make great custom tracks. SPA and Silverstone are almost confirmed for next game and I hope they have more tracks. Also trakcs from GT4 should be redone and included.

You can go back to other so called good racing games, sims no one cares :P

I'm done with this thread, its just a bunch of pointless whining about something that doesn't really matter and nobody cares about.

k.

By the way, no-one cares. 👍 :)

Another one bites the dust guys. Aw, he will be missed. [/sarcasm]

buy shift 2 and be happy :sly:

I agree with the op,but I still play the game every day. There are so many things I would change if I could but the reality of it is if we stop playing GT we're left with so few sim racing games. Myself,I'll just continue to "bend over" until they either A)Fix every issue I have with the game. Or B)Wait until GT6 comes out so we can be even more dissapointed. Either way I'm a lifer. But I still have my issues with the game.

From what I hear Shift 2 is less than satisfactory. The gameplay feels as if you are driving on ice and there are a ton of glitches. This is coming from friends that are actual amature racers in real life. However I myself am a competitive drag racer so I crave the realism of GT5. But I do have to say that Forza really nailed it on the sound effects. GT5 definately improved on their ngine sounds but there are still some cars that sound like an Electralux.

I for one am glad that people who give up with GT post about it & let everyone know, prehaps if everyone who gave up on it done the same thing PD might start to realise they're on a losing streak & start to sort out all the issues.

Thanks for the thread!

Good point.
I also will not be buying GT6 if it doesn't go back to the style of the older games.

Goodbye then. Glad not to meet you.
And next time don't spam GTP.

you mean GTP? as in the worst Gran Turismo forum on the net? that's full of GT fanboys? who complained about X1 gifting because it devalued the time they put in and cheapens their whole life accomplishments?

really, you think I care about a membership here. I've posted what 36 times in 5 years of waiting for a terrible game. Polyphony Digital presents Gran Boring 5. Here, rerace the same tracks from Gran Turismo 1! $60! lol.

goodbye GTP, omg I'm losing an internet forum.

If you're after realism, you may have to give Shift 2 a pass. But if you're looking for a superfun racer that really immerses you in the racing experience I can highly recommend it.

Especially if you have some friends on Autolog it's very addictive. 👍

Don't just listen to the complainers.. they are always the loudest... also check out the positive rave reviews on the Shift subforum of GTPlanet:

Ok then, now you can delete your GTP account

The OP is entitled to his own opinion, does that mean he must delete his account?

I am not 100% happy with the game either due to people flaunting the track boundaries and win at all costs racing etiquette! I guess I should delete my account also 💡

Pretty impossible to keep everyone happy tbh, but some of the reactions in here are a bit OTT, If every thread regarding GT5 was positive you would very quickly run out of things to discuss and fuel for your fire

Oh my God! If this is true it actually means that not everyone like every game there is! Someone wake up the prime minister and alert the air force!!:scared:
