Magic Horsepower gain in Seasonal Events

So I spent an hour this morning completing the three new events and noticed something strange.

The tight regulations forces you to adjust the settings of your car quite a bit, but for some reason my cars were gaining three or four HP during the event. This was annoying since it was refusing to give me prise money at the end due to a 'regulation infringement'!

E.G. on the Fiat 500 challenge cars can't have more than 65hp. To be sure I set mine to 63hp, but after the race the settings screen showed that it now had 66hp and was therefore illegal. As such I had to lower the power of the engine a few percentage points each time to get it to meet the regs, making me slower and slower, until I exited and restarted.

Anyone else had this issue?
 
As the engine gets broken in, the horsepower goes slightly up. Not limited to seasonals.
 
not sure, the car has several thousand miles on the clock already. Engines tend to loose horsepower over time rather than gain it. Either way five laps should not make a difference, especially at these margins.
 
So you were able to enter the race (car met the specs), but at the end it didn't pay because it didn't meet the specs anymore?
 
I got away with 1 extra hp per race I must be blessed lol
 
That's a serious issue, especially for longer races and when using a new car.
 
New cars tend to gain some Hp in the first few hundred miles... just like in real life. So you would still need the same amount of hp to meet the PP requirement of an event but you need to decrease the percentage of hp limiter in the engine settings.
 
I did overpower the cars and then used the engine power restrictor and it was letting me have 1 extra hp but everytime I quit the race to tweak the car i had to drop it back again as it would wear in an extra 1 hp, but i had no issues with the prizes etc.

That's always been a problem in limited-spec Seasonal races, must be a programming oversight because the same situation doesn't occur in any other mode.
 
There is a flaw and I don't like it. You can not even pick the car with the garage button if your car doesn't meet specs. It won't even let you see what cars you have qualify.

So it is says to use the Subaru bbs 2010 it is not showing as a available car if the weight and hp don't match. With 1000 cars this is you need all the help you can get picking the right one.
 
In A-spec and B-spec there is a button where you can see your complete garage without the filter that meets the requirements of the event. I think that this button exists in the seasonals too, you should check out more carefully, the button is on the lower left side of the screen and it looks exactly like the garage button from the Gt Life screen. Hope that helps..
 
The HP gain happened before the update, it's been a feature since GT4. If you are in a new car then tune 3-4 pp less than the limit so you won't have to detune as often.

bit silly tbh. Still it should not let you enter a race and then disqualify you at the end of it. That's just wasting my time.

Agreed.

I have personally NEVER seen this happen before. We're all well aware that HP goes up with engine break-in, but it's never disqualified me at THE END OF A RACE for the gain made DURING THE RACE.

Double agree. After a race it should increase by maybe 1 hp (to a point of course) but not 4 or 5 during a short race!
 
Regardless, even if it DOES go up by 5hp, even if it goes up by 100hp... it shouldn't let you enter the car, run the race, and THEN disqualify you at the end.
 
I even noticed a horsepower gain everytime I grind LTW with the MINOLTA 88C-V way back. Of course it's the engine breaking in.

Not big surprise.

Given that I've done all three new Seasonal Event races today, received all the appropriate prizes for having won them and then had to adjust my car's power after break-in gains to re-meet the specifications so that I can share them for others to borrow. I haven't been refused prize money for having a now-illegal car.

But then I'm probably dense too.

Same here, my cars were at the correct HP at the start but over at the end as I only took a couple of goes on each and they were brand new cars. I still got the prize though, even though in the STi event I was 3 or 4 hp over at the end.

The HP gain issue happened to me before the update so I can't speak for 1.10 BUT I was not disqualified at the end of the race. YOU DON'T LOSE MONEY. You are restricted from reentering the race series after the HP gain. The "annoyance" is you have to exit the seasonals, go back to your garage, detune then reenter the online race.

I'm assuming this is happening to those who mod the cappuccino for the last race of the K-cup series for the most "bang for buck".

Nothing really to complain about IMO

Nope. Settings, Power Limiter. You don't have to leave the event.
