G'day GT folks. Call this a recruitment drive for GTP's Weekly Race Series....

Fed up with periodic seasonal events, grinding, dirty online racing tactics, or just want to improve your lap-times...? WRS could be the answer.

Hotlap a different and challenging car/track combination every week. Tips and techniques to help you go faster (if you need it), shared setups and know-how in tuning events... pit yourself against some of the fastest GTPlanet has to offer.

I use to use my DFP wheel, until it fried. (RIP my friend) I would love to take part in the series, but I'll be forced to use the DS3 controller which will make me slower (just don't have the same control of the car with the DS3.
 
In all honesty the only thing stopping me from taking part is the requirment that your PS3 account starts with GTP_(account).

I am level 40 a-spec and b-spec in my regular account and dont want to create a new account and have to restart GT5 leveling up and aquiring cars just to be able to take part in the series. Unfortunately there is no way to change your account name on the PS3.

Is there some reason for this requirment? would there be any way to change that so we can enter with our own usernames?

Obviously not a rule you would change just for me but maybe there are other people in the same situation.

Sorry to hear about your wheel.
I will say though, it is still fun with a DS3.
We do have a few DS3 users who are very fast and competitive in higher divisions.
It's all broken down into divisions so you will always stand a chance at a podium and won't be overrun.:)
Did I mention promotions? Excellent way of feeling rewarded with the work you put in.
By the way, I am a DS3 user.....for now.:lol:
 
Even though I dislike time trials generally, & am not very good to them compared to racing online, I really like the qualifier you guys are running, using the AMG Special Event is a great idea. Like someone already said above, the main thing from stopping me is having to set up another account, & then grind it up to where I'd need it. It's one of those things I keep saying I'll get around to, but never actually do.

All you would have to do to get up to a decent level for the qualifier is run the La Sarthe race in the Ferrari seasonal a couple times, you'll get up levels quick to do the qualifier.
I never hit 40 on my GTP account, I think I only went a couple levels higher than what was required to unlock the qualifier.
Doing that, I have yet to be unable to buy a car for each weeks challenge.
Also, some weeks are set up in arcade mode so you don't have to buy a car and/or tune a car.
If you guys don't have a Ferrari to run in that race, I would be more than willing to put mine up for share for you guys to use on your new GTP_ account.:)

P.S. I also use the B-spec Widget to run my GTP_ account so that I always have money on there for whatever reason.
With doing that, you hit level 40 B-spec in no time, which then lets you have access to all the cars.:)

To make an edit onto what I said about that, make sure you put a Ferrari on share on your main account, if you have one, and FR your main to your GTP.

As I said, if anyone needs a Ferrari to use that wants to join, I will gladly put mine up on share.👍

They are going to be too expensive to trade across accounts. If I set it up to share on my main account is it then available on a GTP_account even if it's on the same PS3 and the main account is logged off?

Edit: sorry mis read your post as the F1 seasonals.........Le Sarthe is faster I guess :)

Yes, if you share from your main account, then FR to your GTP account, you will be able to use the car.
If the profile that is sharing and is offline and same PS3 doesn't matter, you will still be able to use it.👍

Actually, it's impossibile for me to create a new psn id. I don't know why, site is under maintenance since.... outage?
 
WRS is great, only a few problems.

- Don't have a PC
- Don't have a wheel yet
- Can't be bothered starting a GTP_ account

Stop thinking about joining and do it. It really takes little time to set it up with remote racing, car sharing, and seasonals. It's a great community and one of the best parts of GTPlanet.

👍 It is a great community and you'll share some laughs during the week.

Don't think that if you use a DS3 that you won't do good.
I am a DS3 user and have had multiple podium finishes in my division.
The division break down really makes it worth it.
The race stewards really do a good job and put a lot of work into it.
Everyone is very helpful and there are absolutely no elitist attitudes.

It's always good to have new 'faces' during the weeks.
 
Its easy enough to level up quickly with the XP points available in the seasonals. But if you want to use your "original" account for WRS, simply name the account GTP_yourname in the XMB and don't sign in to PSN - any saved replays will show your XMB screenname, not your PSN screenname. You can only take part in offline events that way but most of them are offline anyway and its not obligatory to take part in every event.

Serious question - how did you upload your avatar and create your signature?
 
Just started working on my qualifier yesterday.:) Leveling up a second account is super easy and takes very little effort with the help of the seasonals.
 
I do find it odd with the demand for leader boards, and all the custom lap time boards why people don't spend an hour or two making a GTP account, which successfully completes both tasks in one.
Hell I've deleted my GTP game save by accident twice now, but it only takes a drift seasonal followed by a race or two and you're up and ready...
 
My question was a serious one. I googled and psn id creation only works from PS3.

For everyone tried doing it from website, now we can create that GTP_whateveryouwant id!
 
Creating a new account and leveling up with the seasonals to enable you to do the qualifier will take 30 minutes tops. It's about the same time as it takes to get on a decent lounge and run a one lap race around the ring.
 
That's not the problem. The real problem is that I don't have any means of uploading the replays since I don't own a PC.
 
Is it fine to ask WRS administrators if Division 5, 4.... up to 1 qualifying times are public?
Or are they confidential as a condition for membership?

I know I'll have to manage blind submitting in the future..... but I work better with target times :ouch:
