What about other cars with a DSG gearbox?

Sweeeeeeet, will drive it around later

Good to know, was the incorrect 2nd gear (IIRC) ratio corrected also?

The Nissan GT-R Black Edition is great...don't ever really recall having problems with the gearbox though?
Good to see...soooo when are they bringing back FLAT SHIFTING?

They have the ability to give you gearbox damage if you flat-shift to much on a stock gearbox...why not bring it back?

I don't understand...you can change up using an Auto when drifting, but you try going manual and shifting up while drifting....it's not gonna happen for you....these are the situations where they could implement damage to gearboxes for doing foolish things. It's way more realistic to give you damage for being foolish, than to simply just block you from doing it all together.

It seems they have implemented the launch control in the game. Stop the car completely while pressing down the brakes. You will see the throttle bar slightly. Nice stuff PD

Huh? It's always been that way for the GT-R, it isn't LC. It's part of the creep mode type thing in a attempt to somewhat replicate a automatic.

thats because the car is automatic :sly:

i'm not following .

is there an issue with it before ?

i will check it out later , i think ferrari 599 got the same problem from the beginning .

There was a thread about it, PD misplaced a number in the 2nd gear ratio which seemed to add to the slow clunky shift, I'll check it myself again later.

The car was half a sec quicker on speed test from 0-100. Maybe its the shifting that improved the time.

Anyone have pre-patch stock 1/4 mile times we can compare?

i'm not following .
.

He is mostly pointing out how using the clutch (G25/27 etc) you can't shift up while the tyres are spinning, making it hard to drift using the clutch and taking a lot of the fun away. Also that they should re enable flat shifting (no throttle lift while using the clutch) but give the potential to damage the drivetrain as a result, so use flat shifting at your own risk much like in real cars.

The gear ratios were correct, I checked them myself using the official spec sheet from Nissan.

So did I and Nissan says 2.301 and if I remember correctly from my own checking after the thread that popped up GT5 had it as 2.031, which aided in the slower shift time.

Problem is now I can't go back and check for sure as I have updated to 2.04 :/

Hmm, they were correct when I checked them. There was one gear that was off (5th) which showed 1.000 I believe instead of the 1.001 it should have been. That wouldn't have made any difference though.

Doesn't matter, as long as the gearing and shift times are all correct now, that is all that matters. :)

Mehhh, you guys tree'd me

Should I post up data, such as pre-2.04 ratios and accel test times?

Edit: too late, meh

it has been tweaked with the update

before the patch i ran 3.2 and 11.5 with the black edition

with 2.04 patch i just ran 2.988 and 11.270
i held the accelerator down just a bit to hold revs as close to 4K as i could then let off right at the end of the countdown to they dont jump to redline...

max accel G was 1.36 0-100 was 7.2 and mile was 28.4

these #'s are alot more inline with the real car than with the 2.03 patch

sport soft vs sport soft on same stock car with a oil change (555hp) pre and post patch so equal comparison for my little experiment...it is different by about 3 tenths now...

i always use sport soft as in real life the new dunlops on the black edition are superior to the bridgestones on the original 07 GTR those were considered sport hard... thats one thing the game has wrong the tires should be sport soft without question

its still a little off the real thing as far as acceleration but better than before.. the max G is pretty much dead on as you can see 1.3 Gs off the line consistently.

One more thing. For those who race with a clutch pedal, does the game still "read" the clutch input even while driving a car with an automatic transmission?

Sport softs in game are really supposed to be like semi-slicks. More like a Toyo R888 or Nitto NT-01.

Tested on Sports Hard. Pre-2.04. No oil change.

0-400 m: 11.953
0-1000 m: 21.457
0-100 km/h: 03.853
0-200 km/h: 12.614
Max. G-force: 1.16 G

Someone test the post-2.04 times

ok sport hard was 1/4 11.53 and 0-60 3.29 G force is still 1.16 for me

0-100 was 7.6 mile was 28.6

thats a fair argument and those are probably closer on the scale to whats considered soft as i wouldnt consider them race hard as they are street tires. but the real life #'s of the black edition GTR are more reflective of the soft tire than the hard..so i guess its a bit of a gray area... you put the hards on and its back to a 3.2-3.3 and a 11.5 1/4 thats way off.... the softs get it as close to real as possible without going in to a race tire which would be unrealistic for the runflat dunlop

not to mention in real life under straight line acceleration the toyos arnt quicker than the OEM tires in most cases

check my first post + changed the title .

Not going to include using the shift key when necessary? :D

The racing transmissions are actually quite slower than the stock trannies in my exotic cars. Even my Mac F1 shifts faster than the racing tranny. Any reason why? So far only reason one would buy one is to mess with the ratios. The racing transmission being slower comes as a shocker to me.

Long ratios?

Short ratios have "shorter" gaps between gears, making gear shifting quicker.
