Need some help fellow GTP'ers! Looking for the “Hatch Back” body style. (Twin Spark, Mini, Civic, etc) that would be the quickest around a track like Deep Forest.

Our racing league just started a new series with these cars and I'm
not real familiar with this type.

Regulations:
MAX PP: 400pp
TIRES: Sports Hard
Production cars only. No race cars, RM’s , or concepts. No limit on tuning

I figured you all would be the best place to turn to for help:tup:

VW Golf R '10, it's powerful and has AWD :).

If you don't have the DLC then a Honda CR-X Si-R '90 is a really handy car to use for 400pp events, the CR-X awesome for the seasonal events once you master it. :)

Not sure if the 86 will qualify..keep em coming guys! I was thinking the R32 golf but I like the dlc car more.

You might aswell use a Subaru Impreza WRX STI (BBS wheel Option) '07

I don't know the PP but you could just detune it by adding weight to get even distribution if necessary.

Mazda 323F. With tuning parts added it's a really good car and the engine revs stupidly high. It's an FF but has really neutral handling.

He was talking about the Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86), not the Toyota 86 '12. The AE86 is a hatchback, and with the right setup is unbeatable.

But since your target is 400 pp, get a Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 '85, an Audi Quattro '82, a Toyota Trueno AE-86, or a Ford Focus RS. Avoid the WRX STi. There's nothing wrong with them, but you'll have to detune them a lot to meet regulations. RenaultSport Megane and RenaultSport Clio V6, Peugeot 207 GTI, 206 S16, and any Honda Civic would be great as well.

So far the Swift Sport 05 has been the fastest around the track with a 1:23 because of it's low weight I out corner everything with ease.
I have it at roughly 990KG with 154hp to keep it at 400pp.

Any other suggestions for these that would be 1000kg or less?
As someone pointed out the AE86 is considered a lift back and is not usable in league.

Another suggestion: Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Evoluzione '91.

This car is straight out of the box just like the WRX STI and would probably only require minimal tuning.

BlackSeries
Alfa Romeo Brera Sky? AWD could come handy.💡

Are you insane? ;) This car is a pig (in non-tuned) settings and would require detuning out of the box. It's also heavy and would be destroyed.

I'd be wary of the Swift - just because you can out corner everything you'll lose out on the straights and won't be able to make your lap times unless you are in clean air. Worth considering the car's race ability rather than just hot lapping ability.

I would avoid any 4WDs at this low power range, you are just losing power by having it.

If you really want to go the lightweight route I'd suggest a Mazda Autozam - fully tuned it's something like 460+ PP weighs nothing and is a small enough to drive under anything else. But it would be debate as to its Hatchbackiness.

You might want to have a look at the Mini Cooper S, and take a newer one as these are turbocharged rather than supercharged. Stops on a dime and corners like nothing! Plus it's fun to drive.

I would suggest the BMW 120d, it is diesel powered so it has huge loads of torque! :dopey:
All the pulling power available at a low rpm, great for short twisty tracks like deep forest. 👍

Keep in mind PP limit is 400. We ran quasi races last night with 6 people
and the Swift either won outright or took 2nd.

We run with sports hard with tire wear, which the lighter weight REALLY helped. The overall power was my concern too since I am running about 40-50 hp lower than everybody else. The main problem with this is league has decided in this series that once you pick a car you must stick with it for
the series (8 weeks)

As far as I was aware "liftback" is just a marketing term Toyota used for hatchback. Like station wagon & estates, are they not exactly the same thing?

I would agree, but it's not my call. They want a specific body type in this class. I tried to make case for Arta 02 and Autozam and was shot down

Turismo.M.G!

The GT-S/Levin/Trueno was offered as a hatchback or notchback here. The hatchback is in the game.

Both the Levin and Trueno variants were offered with either a 2-door coupe or 3-door liftback (sometimes called hatchback) body style.

Renault 5 turbo or Puegeot 205 turbo 16. Both are mr and fast as all get out. Also, Clio sport v6.

NFSCARBON1

That'd be pretty much what I'd say as well.

A shame no one buys more of the 323Fs or Lantis's, they're both some of the finest FFs around.

Well, as of now the fastest around Deep Forest are:

Swift Sport 05
Both Pug's
VW Golf GTi's

Most are pulling around 1:22-1:24 avg lap times with the 206
doing a 1:20 a couple times. We are doing these in race settings 10 laps with tire wear & S/H tires. Swift just seems to be most consistent in lap times.

I have also ran the Levin AE86 '83 and it has the potential to be the fastest, but it's like a pig on ice. Any suggestions on a stable tune? I've checked the ones I know on site tunes and still can't get it "grippy" enough.
