Sometimes, when I'm bspec grinding in the dream car series Monza and Suzuka will have the 0% icon but then when I start the race it's 100% and pouring rain. And yes, I am waiting until all the cars load and it starts changing camera angles. What gives?

This is a contender for my favourite ever thread title.

I find that if you stay on the pre-race screen it sometimes changes to the correct weather condition. It seems random though which is a pain.

I'd say those races are ment to be under these conditions? I don't recall if it was like that when I did them. Why not just put rain tires on and let your best bob give it a shot? AI's rediculously slow in rain.

I don't think you understand how frustrating it can be to start a race on slicks thinking it's sunny only to have it magically and instantly start raining. Then you have to putt around for a lap until pitting to change tires that should have been correct in the first place.

Did you watch F1 today? Only diference is they knew it could rain, but so do you now. Like I said start on the right tires, problem solved, plus your bob's gonna be way ahead!

I can't "start on the right tires" if I'm getting bad information. Why don't you reread the first post I don't think you understand.

What he is meaning to tell you is that when he see the pre-race screen, he is seeing a sunny preveiw, and 0% indicated. When he starts the race it is raining and the indicator is at 100% 👍

I'm assuming that racing inter/wet would give close grip to racing hard, so you can possibly start on those....only issue is inter/wet has the durability of racing softs...

Not much I can do to help you. Seems like just another one of the bugs in GT5, hopefully they will fix it next update, and I'm not sure if there is a way to alert PD of this... I think you are just going to have to restart the race, and switch to the proper tires. If this happens often, It might be that the disk needs to be cleaned, or there is something not exactly right in the installed data. Try to clean the disk, and if it really bothers you try re-installing the Install data, but NOT the save data. No garuntee's, but it's a possibility... Good Luck! 👍

That's what I had feared, another bug to add to the list :/

I had this problem for a while. Then i decided to outsmart the game and just use the Red bull Prototype. even if your on rain tires, and pit and put new ones on, youll still win.

And with enough tries, youll hit it, with no rain, and racing slicks.or rain tires and 100%rain.

Here I'll put it down point for point for you.
You start the race first time, it says 0% wet, sunny weather. race started it rains and track is 100% wet. End the race. Try again, same thing happens.
End race. Put rain tires on, Start race, it beginns with 100% wet and pouring rain, the AI is in trouble, your bob isn't. If he wants to pit regardless, tell him not to. AI pits, your bob laps them laughing, and wins the race!

Unfortunately He cannot restart the race as it is one of the offline series races, once you quit the race you immediately go to the next race.

It's a series and I can't just restart.

👎:crazy::crazy::crazy:

I can use icons too.

And you can not win the series through the other races left and do the 2 races you described afterwards? Or re-start the series???

I'm trying to help you here man, no need to be all like that

Actually I believe you need 3 golds to break even in points, if my memory is correct (It's been awhile since I've played offline races, i prefer the seasonals), and he will not get gold overall and miss the jackpot... :ouch:

I checked it it has 5 races, how many points does he get per win? 1st 50; 2nd 25? right? So he might have to do it all over again, using rain or intermediate on Monza and Suzuka

I know if its five races he can get away with it if he golds all the rest!... Unfortunatly that is the only solution, untill PD fixes....

You can use an FGT in the Dream Car Championship can you? Fit sports tyres and let B-Spec Bob grind for you, regardless what weather it is.

I did try this out, Its 100pts for 1st 75 for second, so he shouldn't skip more than one race.
At Monza it was indicated 0% before AND in the race, it started to rain in lap 7. No problem.
But then happened to me what this guy described at the Nurburgring race. 0% before and when the race started, it was 45%.
If you saw F1 today I find this not a big deal, you slow down your bob and help him to survive the lap, to pit then and react to the weather.
Those things can happen in real life, maybe not in AZ USA, but in places like Silverstone, as we have seen on, aswell as Monza, LeMans and especially at the Ring, I don't see why PD should change anything here.

Yes Analog has it right, take a very fast car on sports, that's it

Just happened again at Sarthe. Sunny before I press start after everyone has loaded, downpour after I press start. Definitely a bug. Flaco I appreciate trying to help but you don't know what you're talking about.

Flaco is just saying in real life some of those tracks can go from sunny to pouring rain in a few minutes, and he is thinks that that is a little more realistic with rapid weather changes

@ Flaco, I can see your point but the actual indicator is misleading, and its an obvious bug. No, in real life you can at least watch the clouds come in, instead of teleporting when you hit start...

+1 for this lol.

As for the op, just use your normal tires (whatever you normally use), if it's raining, suck it up for a lap, pit and change your tires. Simple! You'll make up the time later on in the race.

As someone else mentioned, the AI is slow in the rain, you can even almost lap the last guy in most cases (FGT Championship in particular).

Yes monkeyfoeva21, but before your car is to be on grid and in position, you make the choice. After that is still some time to pass where anything can happen, you know. Wether it is intended by PD or not, I think there are major things they should care about.

(@careface)But what do I know? "I don't know what I'm talking about"!
So I stop posting here cause I don't need to be constantly insulted and wether you find a solution or not is no longer my business, good luck again.
bye

I don't know why you are taking this so harshly, I was not intending to insult you. I never said that you don't know what you were talking about, in fact you had many good points. There already has been a solution, and yes, PD has many, many more things they should care about. I never said it was a major thing that needed to be solved immediately. But it is something that should be worked out in the long run. It's just one of those things that would show attention to detail, something PD lacked greatly in with GT5. I hope you read this, but whether or not you decide to respond is up to you, and i just want to say I meant no harm.
