Pretty easy week overall; none of the events have felt like tough racing, so I may try Mt Panorama and the WTC700 with some other car entries and/or detuning if have spare time to do so.

Not a lover of the bump & grind dirt races in GT7 so the Pickup Truck Race at Colorado Springs was a one and done. I used a stock Ford Raptor although I didn't even bother in putting a cool livery, stock color and back to the garage with dust and sand.

I then unveiled the soft cotton cover of my classic Shelby G.T.350 '65, tuned at 600PP for American Sunday Cup 600 at Grand Valley. I'm no fan of most american muscle cars (mainly because I'm no good driving those beasts) but this beauty is just a joy to the eyes and handles pretty damn good for its power. I took the lead on the last lap and cruised to the Finish Line. US-1 HWY is just the perfect backdrop for a weekend ride. Once finished, I took it to the car wash. Ship shape and back to the garage.

I don't love Alsace, so the One-make Special Event with the Toyota Land Cruiser ’74 felt somewhat burocratic. Straight win. non-eventful even if the AI tries to break test you to hell on the turns.

Mount Panorama for the Race of Turbo Sportscars - Took a plane Down Under but couldn't ride any waves the weekend before the event as I had forgotten my surfboard inside that old blue Land Cruiser back at Alsace

Once in the circuit I got straight on my trusty Lancer Evo Final '15, tuned by master Praiano to 700PP with 571BHP and RM tires. I love this circuit but the event was far too easy as I was about to lap some cars by end of the 5th and last lap. I will try another tune for this car downrated at 600PP and SM tires later this week if time allows to see if I have a bigger challenge in hands.

Last but not least, the WTC 700 affair at Dragon Trail was the perfect chance to take my NLS-series Team Alpine Ferrari 458 Gr.4 out for a spin. I decided to go with RS tires and FM1 and try to 'forecast' how big the rain clouds coming down the circuit would be by the time I had to pit but, to be honest, Inters or Wet were not the drama of the race. The drama was how slow the AI (at normal difficulty) was at multiple turns, they seemed to basically park their rides there. Pitstop at lap 5 for Inters and refuelling, going to the end from there while taking evasive action at almost every turn even before I started lapping backmarkers. Far too easy win, even for my taste (and even easier to say it now that I have my 1 Million gold prize in the bank! :D) so I'll see if I can run it again with another lower powered car and/or raise it to difficult.

My choices for this week. I decided to feature Ford in the 4 "regular" events.
WC 11.8.25 1.webp

1. American Clubman Cup- I pulled out my Bullitt Mustang tribute and had a nice drive down Highway 1.
WC 11.8.25 5.webp

2. Land Cruiser Special Event- I went for my swapped Land Cruiser and just got it over with. The LS7 makes it drive like a bucking bronco.

3. Pickup Trucks- I brought out my Maverick-swapped Raptor and had a ton of fun during this race. It was probably my favorite of the week.

4. Turbo Sports- Keeping with the Ford theme, I jumped in my Sierra RS500 and had to manhandle it across the top of the mountain.

5. WTC700- To round out the week of Ford, I really wanted to attempt it in something out of the norm, so the Mk.IV GT40 got the call. I personally love it at Le Mans and it turned out to be decent elsewhere as well. I set it to FM6 and tried to push on to catch up as much as possible. I stopped on Lap 7 for fuel only and came out ahead of Yamanaka and hoped that the tires would hold on to the end, which they barely did. It was a good race and also lucky the rain stayed away.

In this video, in which difficulty mode are you driving and is the car stock ?
I'm asking because I am in Normal difficulty mode and stock, I couldn't win, only get to second. Eventually had to put a turbo to win.
I'm doing this on the hardest difficulty (As I usually do, unless specified) and the car is not stock. Its from a previous event where I tuned it up because I couldn't even come close to winning in stock form.

I did the Land Cruiser race on hard with comfort softs instead of the standard comfort mediums and got a close 2nd. The leader is fast. I guess it would be very doable on sports tires without any other upgrades.

Some impressions from 2 other races this week:
Engine swapped Tundra with the appropriate Demon livery. I even got a clean race because it is so easy to be patient and then zoom by

The Amuse S2000 is an absolute beast and a joy to drive

Unfortunately no screenshots of the other races. Next week.

This week's article
It’s a one-make race for the Toyota Land Cruiser ’74 and while most of the field should be easy pickings there’s one tuned rabbit that can make life difficult if it escapes from the slower cars blocking it in before you get there so we’d suggest a gentle uplift in performance for this one.
I found a one-tyre step was enough at Normal, but only if the rabbit isn't in the lead at the end of lap one.

I slapped on a turbo and RH compound. I even flipped on my right side going up the hill. Spawned just before the crest and spinning my tyres in first and second gears, dropped back to last to make it up the hill. Went from 4 seconds to the leader down to over 20 seconds and still caught and passed the leader for the win.
