Why are they putting the same 2000 svt cobra in that only comes in one color and not any other mustangs. They just celebrated 40 years of mustangs and it would be only right to put in the new MACH 1, 40th anniversary mustang, 35th anniversary BULLIT, 2003-2004 supercharged COBRA. These mustangs are very upgradable with bolt on parts such as superchargers, turbos, and a multiple of other things. The MUSTANG IS A POPULAR CAR AND MANY PEOPLE OWN THEM AND WOULD LIKE TO DRIVE MORE THAN ONE VERSION OF THE CAR ON THE GAME. I want to at least be able to pick a different color than red. I also want to see how the Mustang GT compares to the z28 and SS Camaros in the game. The list seems to be alot of the same cars as in GT3 that I have allready driven the crap out of. Unless there is going to be a way to VISUALLY UP GRADE THEM, I really don't care to drive them again. If its going to be online, I want to drive the car as close to mine as possible. And what about the new 2005 MUSTANG. GOTHAM STREET RACING HAS THEM FOR THE X BOX WHY CANT THE PS2 OWNERS GET THEM ALSO. GRAN TURISMO IS THE MAIN REASON I OWN A PS2 AND NOT AN X BOX BUT IF THE MUSTANGS ARE NOT IN IT I WILL GET AN X BOX JUST TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CARS THAT I WANT TO DRIVE. I am not smashing the game, Its almost the only game I still play to this day, I just want to see it go to a whole new level. I know the tuner cars are hot right now but dont forget about the new school muscle car people. I know on the street TUNERS are my enemy and being able to hunt them down in the game would be the ultimate.

Holden has just had it's 50th Anniversary and I don't see them in there. Sad but true. I hardly use the Mustangs anyway. I just kept mine for the looks.

So, this thread was just one long rant how you would like to see more Mustangs in GT4?

Great.

GT4 should not include any ford´s just because they are no good! :dunce:

those holden pickup thingys would be nice tho - all the others are opel´s anyway and they are in the game

Toler, those "pickup thingys" are called Utes. And if you want to talk more about Utes to be in GT4, you can do a Search for my topic called "Keep on Truckin!" which discusses trucks to be in GT4.

And Solid, it seems you're right. For the most part, it DOES seem like a wishlist than a new-type Gran Turismo 4 topic. I mentioned the scenario whereas if PD decided to put in more Mustangs, would they include a lot of them, or just leave the many models to the Lancers and Skylines? And keep in mind. In GT3, there were 6 Fords- the 2 GT40s, the Cobra R, Focus Rally Car (sucks that it's only in white, the blue color from GT2 was cooler), Escort Rally Car, and the Tickford. I recently got the Ford Falcon and it's a blast to drive. You may want to go to my "50 Variations...Too Many?" topic.

Now on to the Mustangs. I'm not fully-against Japanese cars, not fully-against American cars, but the Mustang is a special history car here in the States. I mean, I love those 1960s Mustangs. They are lovely automobiles. The latest Mustang prototype features a neo-classic and a neo-classic Trans-Am concept. The only reason why I applaud Ford this year is because they faithfully brought back not one, but three classic cars. Other than that, more Mustangs... I don't know. The Shelby GT350 had some nice numbers. Good horsepower with weight under 3,000 pounds. I think the Mustang went to Le Mans a few times. Never won for all I know. I remember the Saleen Mustang that "Home Improvement" star Tim Allen and Steve Saleen raced in SCCA (I miss those days. GT racing kind of isn't the same anymore).

Oh! I'm sorry I got carried away there. Well, I don't know what to tell you. I would like to see some more Mustangs, but then, I kind of don't. So, I'll let the rest of GTP comment.

Too bad GT isn't a street racing simulator, idiot.

Only if the real Mustangs were in GT like the original Mach 1, Boss 302 and 429, not these poser Mustangs.

I believe that there are are going to be a couple of more Mustangs in GT4, purely because it is the 40th Anniversary. I don't think Ford would let PD let that pass without marking it in some way. The same with the new GT40. These are such big events for Ford, GT4 has to mark them.

The Mustang in GT3 is my favourite car for driving in the Complex String. Turn the driving aids off, and slide round the corners. The suspension is so soft(very american ;) ), but looks great while playing and in replays. :)

A Bullit or Mach 1? - Just take a regular mustang, put some new wheels on it, take it to the paint shop, and make your own :)

The mustang is full of history all right... the same Fox chassis and solid rear axle setup has been around for the last 30 years! :P

if anything, at least put the Rousche Mustang in the game. I saw one on the street the other day, we pulled up besided it, it was nice. I gave him a thumbs up and went about my daily buisness. I like mostly imports, but I don't hate american cars. you the saying, give respect where respect is due.

rock. :O

The mustang in GT3 was pretty ugly I thought. Still the one in GT2 arcade mode atleast looked ok.

I'm not too bothered about mustangs really, I'd prefer a Dodge charger instead. :)

And god I'm so damn sick of hearing about 'Eleanor' still it hasnt been mentioned in this thread, yet...

Id like to see the Shelby GT500 Mustang, you know Eleanor J/K :) There are some muscle cars in the game for definite and that will do me nicely. I'm not the biggest American car fan really I prefer German and Japanese cars The muscle cars seen in GT4 prologue opening vid will add some variation which is good. 👍

Wasn't it confirmed that all the previous cars from the Gt series would be in GT4?
There were plenty of mustangs in GT2.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

You know what. I'll give you a clue. The Mustang that you see in GT3 might be in GT4. And thats it. But you wanna know something else?
Polyphoney Digital could careless about your needs.

No, I haven't see 1 mustang in Shunkwerx's image gallery from E3. But what you said was not true.
And another thing, good point out. Maybe this worthless mustang liker may play GT2. I mean, you got the cheap mustangs...And next to that is a Cute like Diahatsu Truck thing.

What's with your hate for mustangs?
Anyway they only showed about half of the cars included in the final game.

I hate mustangs cause all they are pathetic gas wasters. I mean, theres people out there with some quick mustangs. But a mustang is just as bad as it gets. And the styling of them suck. I've only like the 1960's Mustang when they were just Beautiful. But today, they are doing something like the older mustang styling that'll be better. Which I think ford has ran out of Ideas to make a new design, so they have to copy some of the older ones. Personally I think Mustangs just suck. Also, People tell me, "your not American enough, thats why you hate Mustangs." I could careless how American I am. I have no pride in any country.

i would like to see the 05 in there.. that'd be nice.. i mean they have the 40 in there.. why not the 05 stang.. its a good design.. its just i hate the wing & chrome exhaust on the GTR.. although it'd be a cool car to 'drive' in the game..

The new GT-R stang looked pretty hot, and no doubt with the new GT being in, wouldn't be too much of a leap to see the 05 stang in as well... remember, they only showed a small portion of the cars that will be in the final game @ E3 and i'd say that 500 car number is a low balled figure... under promise over deliver... the key to success.

The 2005 Mustang now I wouldn't mind that being in the game, but I just don't wanna see a car in GT4 that I see every day. I don't see vette's everyday same with viper's.

Mustang's suck, period. They have no performance value whats so ever.
Oh I so wish you had an oppurtunity to sit in my old '93 Fox body. . . you would have crapped you pants in that car and ate those words too. . .

I don't care. Mustangs are next to nothing the most popular car on the road. If we are driving, I see more Mustangs and Taurus's than anything else. I'm just about sick of seeing Mustang's.

I don't see any Mustangs on the road, ever. Mustangs are popular only in America as far as I know and that is not enough to make it even think of competing for the top spot of most popular car on the road. The top 10 will be cars that are sold, and popular almost world wide.

I'm not going to say Mustangs suck, because they don't but they are not as good as their counterparts such as the M3 and Skylines ect. They get beat on track by thoes cars without much hassle. They arn't bad cars but they could be so much better. As for crapping your pants in a car, I don't think much can get you as much as a Westfield FW400, thoes will kill corners at insane speeds and accelerate and brake like you'll never experience in any other car exept other super 7 replica's, and even then only the best one's come close.

Personaly I feel that there are many Mustangs that are really part of American muscle car history!
1968 Shelby GT 350 and GT500
1970 and 71 Boss 429
1969 Mach 1
1987 LX 5.0
1999 SVT Cobra R
2003 Mach1
2004 SVT Cobra
2005 Mustang GT
And I can name off a few prototypes that would really ruffle some feathers:

2003 Boss 351 (was the test mule for the new Shellby Cobra's V10)
1994 Boss 429 (a newer 10.L 429 engine jammed into a 1994 GT body
1999 FR500 (SEMA show car with a 5.0 pushing 415 rwhp)

And some others can be seen here:
http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/concept

And to the moron who says Vettes aren't common, just ofr you, I coulnted the # of Vettes I saw on my way home from the mall tonight, I counted about 35. Out and driving not at dealerships. And I was only driving for about 30 mins. Yeah not common at all.... And actualy the Mustang is ranked the #1 most popular car in the USA. It was recently in Car and Driver and Road And Track. And please, Mustangs suck? Haha! They are the only Muscle still alive today! That new GTO is too damn heavy so the Vette engine inside it is too weak to perform well. And don't count on the GTO staying around for long! only about 7,000 have been sold when GM expected it to sell 16,000 and then have more pre-orders for 2005 to fill.... Yeah it going the way of the Camaro and Firebird. Other cars the Mustang outlasted! And the Mustang has more Trans-Am racing victories than any other car! And the GT-350 R that competed in the 24 hours of LeMans, came in 4th overall, and 1st in it's class. I am a Ford freak, yes, but I can admit when someone does something better. Although Dodge needs to stop with the HEMI crap! Ford made a better HEMI with the 429 than Chrysler with the 426, and Ford made theirs available cheaper and in greater #s. Yes only 400 Boss 429s where made, but Mercury made about 450 Cougar Eliminator 429's and Ford also put the 429 in the Torino for about 380 cars. The 426 Hemi was in more cars, but lower #s overall, but still the Boss 429 is valued higher, yeah Mustangs suck, uh huh. You realize you are insulting a large part of the American Auto History? I dun like Vettes, but I know they are also part of American Auto History so I don't go around sayin they suck cuz I don't like em. Wanna see suck, get a Pinto, or a 1978 2-cylinder chain driven Honda.....

I'm not a fan of new, regular street Mustangs at all. It would be cool to have the '69 or '70 Bud Moore Trans-Am racecar that Parnelli Jones drove, though.

:sly: I don't think the Japanese care about american history. And I think teh mustang in GT3 is all your gonna get in GT4.
