Well now im into Live For Speed (the game not the person  ) and GTR and GT4 are getting close iv decided to buy a racing setup seat type thing :) so i search this forum... few ideas, most expesive and wrong country, i hammer google for a few hours, and the best i can come up with is this.

Playseat. looks fine and a good driving position.. but its £190! ok its got a "proper" seat.. but i dont NEED a proper seat. a bit of sponge and plastic shaped into something useable would suffice.

Question - Where can i get something similar and cheaper? surely someone must sell one!

Buy three pieces of aluminium - 3' straight, curved down at both ends with rubber feet - from B&Q (£15) and a car seat from a scrappy (£10).

That woud be my 1st idea famine, tho i have neither the expertise or the tools or the time. as im sure many people dont :indiff: .

i scribbled this up.. not sure why, but it kinda proves how expensive they are in conparison to everyday items of similar build and design.

thats £120 with all unnessasairy bits and electronics... so a round 100? deal

So you get some kind of a bar and place your wheel there
So I will just have to work harder on summer and just when my brother told me that I need to get something like this if I won't a propriate play.
Damn it.... money is everything concernig this kinds of stuf.

nono i wasnt going to turn that into one! :) it was an example of what things with similar construction methods for the fram and size of frame cost.. or something

Another view

I play my ps2 off of my monitor/pc, and they all hook up so I can play my ps2, and record its true graphixs off of my pc.

You can have a cheap setup. Mine is just a foldable table with my wheel on it, and I sit in an office chair. It's nothing much, but gets the job done.

Oh man, nice set-up Dovesniper

:grumpy:
Um yes man thanks that is my ps2 set up... I also run other extreme racing games for pc but I wont go there... I had a honda gutted, and a pc put in it so I can run like a "real feeling car"
I think its awsome... I got some pictures some where. ANd it really want all that expensive.

I noticed that clutch.. Sweet 👍 too bad it wont work with GT4.. 👎
IDk it works wiht in GT4 uk prologue
I have a cd that my buddy makes so it registers. He will just have to make a new on for gt4

Cool!! I can see how its possible.. Tell GT4 to switch gears only if the clutch is pressed and then shift up/down..

EDIT: Just noticed the "real car" wheel..How much did that whole setup cost you?

You SURE want to find something else, because the seat you showed totaly sucks. I've tried it two days ago and it suckz big time. It costs around 200GBP in Croatia, and it it is the worst seat I ever tried. The wheel falls off the whellbase, the main costruction is not solid at all, and there is no proper place to fix pedales - you must find a way to do it with the driller and some nifty screws.

Forget that one.

I have a question about the PlaySeat. I am currently in the process of ordering it from their site and when I go to chose my country (U.S.A.) it is not a selection...what gives?

Ow ya um my racing seat as like 300 new 2 years ago and my weel was 2,330.99 I got the recipt here. It is an ECCI, what the Indy car racers use, but for Ps2.

I dont only use it for Ps2, mostly for my racing pc games. You guys mihgt think thats alot but im very fortunite to have the money I do.

Deagle, please reconsider the order of the Playseat. It is not worth that amount of money. It is not worth any money. It is not well-built; only good thing is a seat itself, but everything else sucks big time.

Wheel holder is too-small, so Driving Force wheel can't be fixed properly. Also, the base for wheel is made of metal, so you can't really screw the DF plastic screws onto it. There is no system whatsoever (holders, holes...) to fix the pedals. You must do it by using your imagination.

Won't waste my time on poor tube-system used for construction - the whole construction just CAN'T support the force feedback in ANY WAY. DF Pro would tear it down literally. It is very lousy made product.

Save your money for Playseat and use it for finding better solution.
