So I Pre-ordered GT4 on Amazon...

And it says it will ship March 19th! Has anybody who preordered it on Amazon gotten theirs yet? Is the "delivery estimate" accurate? Am I just paranoid? Thanks in advance. :)👍

I got GTA: San Andreas off of Amazon within a week of ordering it, and I believe I ordered it the day before it came out.
 
amazon said they will ship mine in the next few days.
they said that they are shiping the orders depending on who ordered them first....

those bastards tried to screw me liket hat with San Andreas. They basically oversold, and now have to wait until the next few shipments come in. Go to eb games or gamestop.
 
i pre-ordered mine, not online-- and i got it last night :D (at Game-Crazy)... i like them MUCH better than gamestop.. (at least locally-- they're a**holes)... if you keep yer amazon order... you'd be playing FORZA before you got yer GT4..

you are a little over-reacting, it isn't that hard to cancel them out, is it?
 
You should still be able to cancel your order. The same thing happened to me, and I said "March? No effing way!" and cancelled. Then I went and bought it in person yesterday from EB Games.

Amazon sucks.
 
I pre-ordered from Amazon in Canada in November. They adjusted their release date, but not the shipping date. So for all of January the order said "Delivery estimate: December 22nd-28th". I cancelled the pre-order.

Glad I did. Amazon.ca says "Usually ships in 2-3 days".
 
I have the same problem with Best Buy. I preordered in September, yet now they say it is backordered and I can expect it between March 4 and March 14. I am pissed. :mad:
 
Cancel your order if you can. If not, just wait. Those delivery estimates are actually pretty late...usually orders from Amazon come much earlier than the estimate they give you.
 
My preorder from Amazon says it will deliver 1 - 3 March... I ordered it on Feb 20th when I found out my local store hadn't ordered GT4 yet... dumb asses!
 
Hmm, I posted a thread on 22/02/05 asking folks if they had been let down by their GT4 suppliers, but the thread never appeared... :( still, this thread seems to be answering my question anyway, so :) .... be interesting to see who comes out worst in the pre-order let-down stakes....

Would that be too late to do now for us in the UK? As many will have pre-ordered it already I mean.. I ordered from Amazon too and they now say "ships 12-14th March".. I really don't want to wait if I don' have to.. Though I have gotten things from them a day or two early from them before.. Hmm.. Advise?

i ordered mine from overstock.com and i still dont even have a shipping date or a tracking number.. and they wouldnt let me cancel it because its already being "packaged in the warehouse" ... BS.. i bet it will take them 2 weeks to get it to me. :( if i never read the forums on gtplanet i wouldnt have gotten so anxious about it and wouldnt have pre-ordered and would have gotten it from a local store.. should have done that in the first place.... GRRRR

it suck when it seems that everyone and their mother has the game and its out in stores and i CANT go and buy it because if i do chances are that i wont be able to return my overstock/brand gt4 to the local store... :(
 
If anyone can't cancel their order, just go buy the game elsewhere and save the receipt. When your order finally arrives, return it to the store with your receipt from the other purchase
 
I see no reason to believe that Amazon will be sending the games in March.

Well thats pretty bad but I just bought GT4 today and I went home and opened it just to find out that there is no gamedisc in it. OMG I am so ****ing mad!!
 
preorder at Walmart and said they wont give out copies until March 3rd though you can buy online and get by friday?! :crazy: :grumpy: 👎

You don't need to goto those lengths... just send the Amazon order back when it arrives as then you won't need to even open the box or packaging...

Hmmm, that doesn't sound too great... I too have GT4 pre-ordered at Amazon, but it says delivery estimate 8th-9th March on mine.... I will be extremely :grumpy: and :mad: if it is as late as 12-14th March...

That's not a bad idea, except gamestores in the UK don't normally accept games that have been opened/played... but you could keep your store-bought copy and send back your late-arriving copy unopened... 👍
 
Another thing to point out... I've had teh game preordered for quite some time and my delivery estimate is for 25 August 2004!!

So I wouldn't be too worried about the estimate...

Also my GTA:SA copy arrived the day it was released via amazon despite me not paying for fast delivery...

But then again I'm in the UK... you're in US... Amazon rules in this country!!

Oh well, I did go ahead and cancel my amazon order and ordered from gameplay.com instead. They at least claim to be able to get it to me on the 9th.. Hopefully I at least won't be any worse off.. Would be nice to get it as early as possible though.. :)
