I've searched and came up with nothing. This car handles very poorly and no matter what I do I can't get it to break normally. Any suggestions are welcome

This car is a big problem. It's pretty fast, but other cars in it's class just kill it no matter what you do to it. I've been everywhere looking for tuning for this thing and came up empty everytime. Mine is now a garage queen.

Mine is now a garage queen.

There are those who claim they've won the Pro League GT World Championship with one of these. I'd love to see the full replay on that. I suppose if you continually bailed and re-entered until you got a starting grid full of real dogs you might have a chance, because this car is a major pooch.

I've seen a couple of setups posted, and they were worse than stock. I've tried a few things, but to no avail.

I suggest you B-Spec spam the DTM six times and buy an Audi R8, BMW V12, or either of the Pescarolos.

Heres my setup, im at the pro league now, and am winning most of the races with it. I have to be extremely smooth with it though. It tends to get snap oversteer if your even slightly aggressive with it. I changed settings to reduce oversteer, but it seemed to increase the fragility of the cars handling even more. Im using the driving force pro. If anyone could test these settings and let me know what they think, thatd be sweet.

I'll try your setup when I get a chance. Just curious: What cars are in the field against you? Are you up against the killers like the Sauber, Minolta Toyota, and R92CP?

yeah, the minolta and gt-1 are in the races where i have to push. Still, slow or high speed tracks.. Its a struggle to control atm.

I ran the Pro Leauge with the GTR in A-spec just because I REALLY wanted that to win with it. But it was a problematic car in real life, so you cant expect much in a game.

I agree....this car is very hard on the tyres.

I'm currently up to race 5 of the Pro League GT World Championship using the CLK GTR (using Stage 4 Turbo). I'm in 2nd place, down by 2 points. Results are:

Tokyo = 1st
"The 2nd track" = 3rd
Hong Kong = 3rd
Seoul = 1st

The cars I'm up against are:

Sauber Mercedes C9 (this is very quick)
Nissan R92CP (this is also very quick)
Toyota GT1
Nissan R390
Gillet Vertigo

Anyway, back to it....El Capitan is the next race (love that track).

Just won El Capitan! Am now leading the championship by 4!

I love this game!

Good job man!..

I make it a rule never to upgrade a race car, unless it realy REALY needs it.
I used my stock Minolta to win the champ series and still only beat the sauber by only a few points, but close racing is real racing.

Am pleased to advise I completed the GT World Championship with CLK-GTR. I won every race except those listed in my previous post and the last track.....Sarthe.

And all I have to show for it is the GT40 Race Car.....which is slower than the CLK-GTR. ***boo hoo***.

Haven't any of you heard about the real life clk-gtr that did cartwheels down the track at 180mph when it got some bad air from a biff front air dam? The thing is suppose to be a beast to drive.

it was a beast for me on nubrigring but with the right settings and a little practice it was a real weapon for me

I was pretty disappointed with this car, except for the weighty selling price :) It was my weapon of choice for Tsukuba Wet (use supersoft tires), it can also easily take down any competition in the Mercedes one-make race.. but since there isn't any competition even close, I prefer to run that race in the SLR.

if you haven't seen it they have it at racingflix.com

thats the link to the vid but it may make you register

Thanks for the link. That is an absolutely awesome clip.

However, virtually all the information about it on that page is wrong. That is NOT a CLK-GTR flipping. Here's what it really is:

http://www.mulsannescorner.com/benzCLR1.html

The CLK-GTR is the 1998 car. The 1999 CLR was the last of the Mercedes Le Mans cars. They flipped three times: Twice in practice, and once in the race, which is shown in that cool clip.

(Note the other CLRs and the BMW V12 LMR in the pictures.)

I have a problem with that CLK too. I can't get through Twin Montegi Super Speedway in b-spec mode, as the car hits the wall every 2nd lap, no matter what setting is used....

Im tackling that championship now. The only car I have thats close to competing is the CLK-GTR so Im using that. I have medium race tires and no additional modifications. I can qualify as good as 1st at Tokyo but sometimes as low as 3-4 depending on the competition. Im currently working on setup/practice driving because it is very very difficult. If you lose one of the cars anywhere on the track you wont get their draft and you will automatically lose 2 seconds plus on the straight.

My best lap is a 1:24.555 during a race with heavy drafting. In qualifying with no draft Im getting 1:25.3xx. I just need to clear my head a bit and keep the persistence going because after a while I will mess up the long right hander. It is very tough to double apex correctly with little brake inputs on a dual shock.

my ride heights are 80/90 btw. Ill post more info when I can seem to actually win the race.
