JGTC S1 Round 4 Qualif + Results

PEOPLE NOT SENDING A TIME FOR QUALIFICATION WILL NOW RECEIVE A 10 SECS PENALTY TO IT'S FINAL RACE TIME.

People notifying me before the deadline (hours before, not 5 mins before) that they can't run the qualif with a reason why won't get a penalty, only the people disappearing and not saying a single word will. You can still miss a qualif I don't mind, but it's YOUR responsability to PM me and tell me why. Simple as that.

Technically nobody is allowed to miss a RACE, unless something happens like a ps2 not working like Soyfu or a corrupted mem card like Rabbi this week. Those are excuses making it just impossible to race, the "I DON'T HAVE TIME" excuse just won't work with me. If you don't have time to race then rethink about your priorities and your presence in this series. Next week after Round 4 we are at the half season, I'll be kicking out some people for sure if it continues like that. Do not come to me after and cry for forgiveness.

Great, now there is no excuse for you not to get a good run this week. :p

Man, I think this is one of my weakest tracks! Well, I guess it'll be a good chance to get better at it.

And Viper, I've been on a diet this week and lost a few pounds, so can I take that penalty off? :p

You all are going to get some behind the scenes photos of the LM S2000 putting in some work at one of my favorite tracks: Tokyo.

Note that this month the S2000 will be sporting a special red livery a diparture from the traditional blue.

Peyton and Kenny return to Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan. This is Willy Nilly reporting for LOSIng TV. Efforts to rebuild Tokyo from last month's harrowing events have brought the Japanese people into a rare unique bond. The Sony building has been rebuilt, now eclipsing the Prudential building as the tallest skyscraper in the world. Honored and dishonored alike work together to recreate the giant corporate behemoth the great city was, ushering in a new era of Japanese independence and unity. Until now.

"Kenny, can I ask you a question?"

*Kenny pulls off his F1 helemt, fresh from having some fun on Monaco * "Sure thing man, what is it?"

"How do you feel about flying in a glider, at the complete mercy of the wind, weather, even the seagulls?"

"Lets do it! Where to?"

*hesitation* "Tok...yo"

"Y-y-you...gotta.....b-b-b-be...kidd-dd-dding me!"

"Have you been taking English lessons from Curtis, Kenny? Kenny?"

And so they sail.... like the wind! ..... as the wind! ..... pleases.

Upon being in view of the new Tokyo skyline, Mr. Homototo at the Tokyo Protection Agency alerts his boss.

"Sir! Situation! Jihad crusaders flying in 3 o clock! Raise terrorist level to orange!"

"Well done! We have couple hours to prepare! Bring out heat sinking missiles we stole from Pakistan!"

"AAAH! KENNY! What are those two orange things flying straight towards us?!?!"

"Kamikazes?"

2 hours later, Peyton and Kenny drag themselves onto the shoreline as curious spectators take pictures.

"Please! Pictures no takey! Photophobia!"

They escape to safety as a police motorcade rolls by, escorting Kim Jong II to the N8 Summit (Nuclear 8).

The racing duo head to a clothing shop and disguise themselves as German models.

Walking briskly down R246, Peyton's skirt is lifted up as a Yellowbird RUF barrels by him.

"Peyton, I think it's time to bring out our big guns."

"Kenny, I don't like flashing wo..."

"Our cars you perverted dipstick...."

"oh"

Magically hidden in a dense forest located near the city streets, Kenny rolls out his Woodone Toyota Supra and Peyton carries his Daihatsu Midget to the boulevard.

"HAHA! Just joking! I got you back for that prank!"

"Peyton, you never caught on to the biggest one."

Once in their respective race cars, they do some laps. Until Kenny suddenly crashes, without any warning. MR8 is hurt as Kenny's car threw him over the wall and into the metal bleachers.

"Kenny was in no condition to race. We still don't know why, but he had a sudden debilitating attack of vertigo. We are not sure what caused it - could be anything from an ear infection to even a brain tumor or a stroke," says Josh W. Busch, KPM Motorsports spokesman and former wrestler. "He will be able to race again soon."

MR8 is currently watching reruns of 'Golden Girls' in his drab hospital bed.

Peyton, although dismayed by Kenny's health concerns, continues to go on and race. His racing is erratic and he is lapped by German privateers.

"Ha! You call yourself a German! Look at that tiny skirt! Ha!"
"Ya, dis is funny! YA!"

In a great display of character, Peyton sacrifices his Honda S2000 LM '01 and rams it into the RUF, which was incidentally already spinning wildly out of control.

"Dis short skirt put us in dirt!"

Breaking News

MR8 has added 'Golden Girls' to his list for Tivo.

No doubt. Just get on the Ginza subway line to Aoyama Iichome and there you are, right at the starting line.

Of course you can drive it, it is route 246. It is a cool area. It has the only BMW/Alpina dealership in Japan, a Honda dealership with everything, the Ferrari/Maserati dealership, 3 Sony buildings including one where you can go in and sit down and play the latest games, and the Canadian Embassy (not saying that is the cool place to hang out)

It should be a good one this week, Tokyo is definitley one of my favourite tracks, very fast. And, I've already done the 300km race here in GT3 in the Calsonic. I had a lot of fun with that one, after nearly 2 hours, 50 minutes, I only won by 16 seconds. Good luck to everyone with their qualifying; hopefully GT500 will have a better turnout this week.

FOR SALE:
22x 1kg lead weights, slightly used

Ahh Tokyo...hmm...tricky track this is, very technical in some places, and very grip-it-and-rip-it in others. The AI are pretty quick here too if memory serves. In all honesty, I love and hate this track. Great setting, pretty high-speed, and of course the bent-straight, but I've never been 100% confident here.

*straps on helmet*

Time to remedy that... :trouble:

Good story Kenny! Funny and akward. why akward? The thought of someone thinking a about be in a mini skirt is simply scary and akward.

Hey Kenny, at first when I was reading your little stories I thought you were like 30 or so. :p Then one day I check your profile and I see you're 18! The way you tell and write those things makes you look alot older seriously.

ENTRANTS LIST NOW UP TO DATE WITH THE NEW TEAMS 👍

Ran my qualifier a while ago, will be sending it wednesday. This is actually harder than i thought at first, hard to keep it off the walls in a few places. Durn concrete jungle, just like the champ race yesterday, tight and twisty

Welcome to the JGTC Drifting 👍

Ugh another tough runner to run with .. ARG....... 14 Teams .. hmm

Ok Kittens .. go put some marks in that new ASL over there .. yea that one .. marked with Drifts name on it.. :sly:

@DRIVEN, did you like the champ car race?! i loved it, except for tracy running outta gas....

gonna have a go right now just woke up 5:40pm

althought i went to sleep after work at 8am....

( i forgot to add that im racing with a injury this week, had my left hand's middle finger stuck under a 36" Sony Wega tv... the heaviest of tv's man.....
well it cut my finger just a tad, which will make it REALLY hard for my downshifts........ :( just thinkin about it )

Haha, cool 👍

Thanks Peyton

Curtis, you must have missed the story where I had you s-s-s-stut-t-tering

I already ran some laps today, it's looking good so far; I can only see myself shaving off another .5 seconds before the deadline. I'm loving this track, keeping the car off the walls is probably going to help keep me awake throughout the race.

And Tracy deserved to win that race (given he was only losing half a second per lap with half his front wing missing), but that caution was timed perfectly to completely screw him over. Just wasn't his lucky day...

Did not see the whole race but did see him come out of the pits and loose his front wing. Laughed a little that he stayed out and the others could only make up a second or so a lap. Then he runs out of gas  man that HAD to suck. Though seen it happen in NASCAR a few times too on the last lap or so, ROFL. :dunce: :ouch:

Didn't someone run out of gas in the first race of the JGTC :yuck:

Man, I know how you feel. I used to move those things for a living back in Vancouver. I am so glad I don't deal with those products anymore.

Yeah I'm doing good. I can go faster with a little bit more time on the track. i love the handling of the ASL ARTA Garaiya.

I'm done with this qualif.

Time Submitted

I hope that my mate can race in this round

Pulling into the garage area, tossing his helment into the office.

Ever have one of those days... ya know what needs to be done, but make stupid little mistakes here and there, and just can't get to where you were the day before?

ARG.. 10 laps and called it quits last night! Somehow just could not get in the grove for a whole lap. Got better in areas, just never on the SAME lap..

Back out later this afternoon to try again.
