Congratulations on the great work, Jordan! :) Easily my favorite style for GTP so far. Very clean. Just a few things on my list of stuff to check out:

1 In regards to the forums (I haven’t checked other portions of the site), only the front page and thread listings are valid XHTML – each thread itself isn’t, which throws up a slew of errors and makes Safari unhappy (these are the same rendering problems I had with GTP6):

2 Is GTP Lite any different from GTP Default? I don’t see any noticeable difference (I’m not implying that you need a Lite version, but that you can remove the menu altogether ;)).

[edit]: Oops, scratch that, it’s working for me now. Well, there’s still practically no difference, so I’ll go back to Default. ;)

3 When you click on Manage Attachments while making a new post or thread, a lot of the Filetype icons don’t show up.

4 And speaking of icons, I’ve attached to this post a [font=Courier, Courier New, Monaco].zip[/font] file with a bunch of revised icons that you’re free to use or discard. Most of them are the icons used in the Post Form page, because the transparency on some of the stock vB icons are awful (especially [font=Courier, Courier New, Monaco]code.gif[/font]), and I’ve also included a new [font=Courier, Courier New, Monaco]announcement_new.gif[/font] file with two extra frames to make the pulsating a little cleaner. :)

Do those icons have rounded corners? :p

ok, this is probably the wrong place to ask but, what is the font used all over GTP.... like were it says 'my posts... private messages... add buddy... homepage' what font is that because I want to use it in my signature (do some house cleaning to smarten up for GTP 8!).... Ive tried many fonts and sizes and they dont match...does anyone know which one it exsactly is?

Thanks, Robin 👍

11px bold, and, depending on what you have installed on your system: Tahoma, Verdana, Geneva, Lucida, Lucida Grande, Arial, Helvetica. (Listed in order of precedence.)

Thanks sage for the quick reply, I will try those now, but I dont know what size in terms of GTP's sizes... ie 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.... I didnt know your individual system effected how it looked....

Edit, I think ive sorted it... thanks Sage!! (and oh ive just discovered how nice the edit post feature is on GTP 8.... snazzy!! :) )

Actually, you’re best bet is to just not format your sig at all – the same formatting that is applied to those links are also applied to your sig.

Ah, one more thing, Jordan: It would be handy if you set the new button thingies under our avatars (Administrator, Super Moderator, Premium, Quality Posts, etc.) to have the links be set to [font=Courier, Courier New, Monaco]display: block[/font], so that you can click the entire button instead of just the text.

Sometimes in Lite, the quick edit box only appears the second time you try to edit.

Other than that, looks great Jordan!

Yeah, I know. This bothers me because I already spent a considerable amount of time validating all of the templates in my testing environment, and now it's just so frustrating. I will try to fix them tonight and hopefully that will clear things up on Safari. Sorry we never got to run the pre-game test we discussed, but I had to get the style out before this weekend and I knew further tweaks would delay the launch considerably.

I didn't think you wanted there to be any differences! :p There's no composite backgrounds applied to the red or blue cells, and no main header, obviously. That's about it. In a quick glance at file sizes, our default style actually appears to be "lighter" on file size than the Lite version (I could be wrong on that, but that's what my quick test showed). I've set up GTP Lite as a child vB style in the Admin CP, which makes administration 1.3 million times easier for me (and prevents discretions between versions). Which menu are you referring to?

Thanks, I'll take care of that.

Whew, and I thought I was a perfectionist! :p Thanks for cleaning those up, I'll upload them in a minute.

I also get an error when I view a thread. I use IE.
If you guys could start another thread for this technical issue, that would be great. Thanks! :)

That’s okay – I figured after 10 months you’d be dying to get this out. ;)

Ah, I’ve edited my first post. The menu at the bottom of the page was just kicking up the Default style no matter what I chose, but now it’s actually working as intended.

Speaking of that, you’ll have to be careful about us moddies getting blinded by the mod CP. I think vB tried to find the absolute brightest shade of blue they possibly could!

BTW, just making sure, did you see this post?

[edit]: Hmm, I just noticed… it looks like if you include a name when you quote somebody (quote=yada yada), then the quoted text is italicized – but if you don’t include a name, then the text isn’t italicized.

No, create a new thread with your issues. This thread is about Sage's issues. Jordan will tell you to create a new thread.

I also like the new quickreply in vB. I use another vB forum that has the same thing and it is great!

I just finished clearing up most of the issues you addressed, Sage. I'm giving up on validation, though. I cleared up all of the style issues, but there is simply far too many people being cute with special characters and incorrectly nesting bbcode for all the pages to validate. Let me know if you still have problems with Safari - I had the opportunity to test it and everything looked perfect.
