RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (just under 1h each round) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

I must have a very different driving style to most people here or something. I always seem to love the tracks everyone else hates. For example I love Motegi, I love Fuji GT, and these are not popular tracks :odd:

Oh well, gives me a chance to gain a few points in my abortion of a championship bid this season ;)

:ouch: I've been waiting since this morning to get behind the wheel. One of the guys that is living here has been on the machine all damn day !@ ... like hey ! ... some of us have to get a race or two in before the weekend... and I'm still trying to figure out the first corner/opening lap.. never mind some tire testing :( ... toss in the fact that for the next two days I've got to get up at 4 a.m. to get to work ...whaa... LOL

Four AM...are you crazy JR, you're obviously not in the same field as before, I'll bet you're that Milkman we always hear about.

Banker race in!

Managed to keep it on the black stuff (for the most part, anyway)

No pens, no spins, 5 pits, 6 laps on softs.

Gonna see if I can push for another 10 secs or so, then call it a day.

I still would never say this was one of my fav tracks, but now after about 100 laps total, I can at least say I like it a little better now.

Neil

aww shucks
here I saw that Neil posted and figured I'd hear a bit of sniffiling
instead I find that the little bugger has a banker in already 🤬 LOL... mate

and you got that right Andy - I'm not in the same line of work anymore. I still may go back to it, but I had to face that fact that I was dealing with addicts, and I'm not the "warm and fuzzy type"... :) ... my schedule gets a bit mixed up, different times on different days... but hey ? it's work :)

just got home, and am about to put this weary old butt to bed for a quick nap. Maybe I'll get some time behind the wheel later.

Banker in, improved banker in :) Feeling strong this week, although every time I say that I seem to end up eating my words hehe.

I don't seem to have much luck catching the AI at the right place to get a good draft down the main straight. I either have to weave around them in the final sector or catch them into turns 3/4.

BTW, F1 fans might have noticed that Suzuka has been replaced with Fuji on next year's calendar. Not sure which version of Fuji it will be...

Not only a banker, but a banker with me in the lead from the 3rd to last corner of the first lap (With the AI set to +10 as usual).
Only got put back to second for 3 laps total, when I pitted and the second place guy flew past the pits. He however pitted the next lap, and I returned the favour.

Convinced that my strategy is the fastest way to go, so going for the 10 secs I think I can get now, well, once I've had my second cup of coffee that is!:)

Fairly well motivated this week, even tho I am not fond of the track, and on a power-reduction with +5 weight.

Laters with an update, hopefully.

Neil

well, ran my first race this morning :indiff:
slow... considering my qual, not too surprising.
at least I've got a couple of days to go 👍
don't know how much I can shave off :nervous:

Banker in. Frustration stuck behind AI for a lap on my last tire stint cost me a drive through...

Was a great, consistent race to that point, so I don't think I can make any more time other than the 15 or so seconds lost to the penalty.

Will try though. Relatively quick race time-wise considering the slow qual...

Later,

BTW, with all of the extra runoff available, and after a bunch of laps, this race is actually quite relaxing and easy to run. Need to lay up a bit to make the tires last, but that's okay...

-SHig

...and, of course, not deliberately use some of those run-off areas ;)

Put in a stellar run yesterday until a spin cost me 7 seconds. Final time was only 6 seconds over my best, so I don't think I can improve this week.

Yes, that's a given. Besides, MOST times using runoff results in a slower lap time. I was referring to the fact that you don't have to run in mortal fear of blowing a race completely by whacking a wall if you're not inch perfect.

Managed to run another race last night. First tire stint was a mess, as far as consistency and speed, but the rest rocked! Dropped 24 (!!!) seconds and bettered fast lap by 0.2". Don't see doing any better this week and will probably submit this race.

BTW, I love that I can save all but the last straight's worth of replay this week. Are any of the DS2 runners able to save it all?

What does the DS2 have to do with the replay , just curious shig?

Hey Scott, just noticed your tag line above your tar, I got a bunch of plastic decals in my "Car and Driver" mag and one of them (which is now on the rear window of my Chevelle says "Friend of Fast"

Time submitted. Not gonna have a chance to run again this week and I'm fairly confident I can't beat my time by much.

Good luck everyone 👍

I've heard that driving the wheel creates a bigger file due to the fact that it has to save the wheel display data.

Also, gotta love the VW ads these days. And though I love the VW TV ads (wish they would have done more "Fast" ones, and I LOVE the un-pimp ze auto ones...) you can't beat Mini for their print ads. The one I loved the most, though simple, was a center magazine two page ad where the Mini slolomed through the three staples like autocross cones, and the staples themselves were orange! Brilliant!

Oh well, back to racing...

****. I won't be able to get a time in because my controller has died on me. It's just stopped working. And I won't be able to buy another one before the deadline. I'm really sorry everyone, this is the first race I think I've missed and I'm not happy about it....

Well, I'll be out of town today so no more time for racing. I ran the qualy for Tokyo last night though. I LOVE that track... And after this week, I may be lighter to take advantage of that!

Submitted... Good luck all!

-SHig

Time sent to Eats.

Is the first race I did, haven't had time since thursday to run it again.

Good luck guys!

HOLY COW! Twice as many stops as I did. You probably spent more time in the pits than out! <JK>

You'll get more points than me that's for sure...

I could have been a whole lot faster, and was till 20 laps or so into a really fast and consistant attempt, then i dipped a wheel into the grass on the left hander second corner just after a pit-stop (lap 19) and the cold left tyre didn't hold. Span out, and lost 15 seconds, so I dumped the race, and never got the time to re-run!:guilty:

Nevermind, last place for me. I know I'm slower the Andy this week, just don't know about J.R.
