Imo this gets really annoying ... does anybody know where it comes from... is it actually a new phenomenon ? I had the impression at least...

To me, and sorry if I should offend anybody, this is just as annoying as the OMG !11!!! hax0r etc gang you meet on every damn forum...

Like most internet crazes its funny once, maybe twice but then it gets annoying especially when many of the younger internet users put it in their titles, avatars, Sig's and repeat it all the time.
 
I like it but I agree that it's going to become very boring & annoying but until then,
I'M IN UR CAR, RUININ UR ENGINE
 
The IM IN UR whatever fad is a fad. It'll die down, and I'll probably take mine down in a week or two.

You see it in many people's titles, but I don't see it in avatars or sigs (except maybe once). And I really don't see people post it, either.

EDIT: I guess Nøz will be the first person I see with a IM IN UR avatar. :crazy:
 
It's just an Internet fad, like the O RLY and variants. Eventually, it'll pass.

I was referring to internet crazes in general over the internet not just GTP, like for example "ORLY".

This "IN UR.." is fairly fresh and will probably get much more popular yet.
 
It doesn't bother me at all, as a matter of fact, I'm starting to like it a little bit. So in that case, IM IN UR FACE, TALKIN' SH**. :D
 
It started on Bchan (a wide-open-rules graphics forum) with an engraving of the Trojan Horse captioned with I'M IN UR BASE... KILLIN UR DOODZ. Kind of like a Married To The Sea thing. It was first picked up on Bchan, and in the last month or so has become an internet meme. It's actually kind of funny, but with everything internet, a lot of the clones are not nearly up to par with the original.
 
it's slowly becoming one of the most idiotic trends around.
 
I was wondering what it was from! Anyway, I think it's pretty funny.
 
For some reason the trend has a very All Your Base feeling to it, except... dumber. Alot dumber. Atleast some people put some serious thought into certain parts of AYB, but god this is just mindless.
 
I don't care, I kinda like it, it made it into my user title, but I don't particularly pay attention to that anymore.

Ah ok I see. Well, actually really a funny name of a virus, but, oh well, I mean just like " In before the lock" surely was funny the first time, aswell as the first "I'm first" in a thread... but after a while... It will be interesting how all this will end up... have we reched the peak yet, will it be a permanent trend? Oh god, I hope not....:sick:

Another way this fad gets more attention is because of threads like these. Doesn't matter how many people hate it, the more one talks about hating it, the more popular the fad will become. You have helped this fad increase popularity, Max_DC

I don't think he is so wrong... it is indeed a bad grammar booster for the younger generation...at least I think so.
 
The ones that are clever make me laugh (Famine's is quite good; poop jokes always get me :)). Others, along of the lines of IM IN UR HEAD, MAKIN U STOOPID, are in fact, quite stoopid. If ur going to fall victim to this fad, at least make a half-decent effort to come up with something original.
