RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind

Since this is a semi-enduro format (just under 1h each round) we can’t really ask for 100% error free races. But you must still follow the same basic rules layed down for qualifications and use them when ever possible. Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

So, has anyone seen this thread yet?

I'm kinda pumped to get back to the first track I won in JGTC at. I hope I can repeat this time. Once you figure out where the rocks are the track has a great flow. :)

It's always been a favorite track of mine too Eric, a nice flow and quite easy to drive especially if you've driven many hundreds of laps for the last several years.
I think everyone's seen this thread Eric, but there seems to be a slight feeling of abandonment by everyone lately. But I'm still looking forward to next season, but I will not participate if I can't pick a partner that will honor his commitment, and we all know who those drivers are, the 11 of us still in the series. I worked my arse off this season, same with last season, but my partner decided to quit for no apparant reason leaving me with no chance of winning anything. I don't mind losing (I'm quite used to it) but to lose because there's no way to win is frustrating at best. OK, got all the crap out of my system, somebody else can bitch a bit.

We're on our next to last race for this season, but keep your eyes open for the beginning of next season which hopefully will start a month or two after this season.

Ok, I know it's early, but I sent my time in.
Don't know with the work schedule coming up that I can get another race in, and after brain farting the DTM race :(

Ran all on RM/RS's
8 laps per stint

was just getting to like this track

hey Eat's ? oly oly infrantry..... LOL

ok, good and bad news for me:

my PS2 is making a weird noise, freezing other games and its almost dying.

good news is that i redid my race, took some time and i´m submitting.

now the PS2 just need to last for another round...

Good luck Francisco, ya gonna just wait and get a PS3 or ya gonna get another PS2? Being that GT5 won't come out for 18 months or so you're gonna have to get another PS2 if you want to drive GT4 still. The PS2's are going fairly cheap at ebay, they'll be even cheaper in a month or so when PS3 comes out.
I'm going to get the PS3 when it comes out, then move my 55" HD TV into the game room and get a flat HD for the living room. Can't wait to play HD GT5 on a HD PS3 through a HD TV...heaven!!
I've started this weeks race 10 times today only to restart after a lap or 4, finally got to lap 28 and spun out.....turned off the PS2 and took a walk. I'll give it another go tonight, don't want to be late, you know how eats hates tardiness! I sure hope he's alright, something major must have happened to him, he's late at times but never like this. Earth to Eats...we're worried about you buddy!!!

With 25.5 hours until deadline and no sign of our "faithful" leader, please submit all times and stats to me via PM with a read receipt request (so you can be sure that I'm not opening them until deadline = no advantage to me) and I'll PM my results to fasj so there's no question about my time.

All replays to SHigSpeed@yahoo.com

I'll post results before shutting down tomorrow night, most likely within 2 hours of submission deadline.

Let's get on with this...

-SHig

Deadline is tomorrow Scott!! Don't scare me like that, I haven't got my run in yet. Don't start posting times till tomorrow night, Sept. 17, 9:00 PM EST.

EDIT: Duh, I read 2.5 hours instead of 25.5, sorry Scott you're correct, I sorta thought it wierd that you of all people would have it wrong. Sorry Bud.

No problem at all Scott!
I was gonna jump in tommorow anyway.
Saves me the work! :sly:
I'm like Andy, not got my run in yet!:ouch:

Just been screwed by the game @46 mins in! As I was slipstreaming up behind one of the cars (to lap him for the second time) I hit that lovely bump on the left-hand side of the SF straight. Got chucked into the air cos of no downforce and catapulted into the wall at 130Mph!:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Race over!

It's the same for me.There is a Subaru which brakes a lot more before the end of the straights.Well it seems the driver of it wants to hunt me down.
But I have already a full race saved on my MC,without any major mistakes just like hitting someone or spinning or leaving the track. That was a hard job to do.

Yay!

Got what I think is a damn good banker race in, finally! This is a hard race!

The hardest part was getting soft rears to last 8 laps, what with all of the aggressive corners that all seem to be left-handers. ie 3rd(at bottom of the 1st hill), 8th (between the tunnels), 9th (end of back straight) and the 13th (after T3)
Also getting the car straight for the jump in the 1st tunnel is critical to rear tyre-life.

8 laps out of soft rears
6 laps out of soft fronts
The rest of my strategy, you can work out yourselves! :sly:

Neil

Yeah Scott, like I said in my Edit, I read your post incorrectly. I know when reading any of your posts that the info is always accurate, unlike some of us ChuckleHeads:)

I've stared and aborted this race dozens of times, like you Neil I've chucked races at lap 28 and lap 35. It is harder then you would think, I mean we all know this track very well, but it's a bit hairy in places. Gearing seems to play a big part, I've been switching around, but found at 280 I can save a few shifts by keeping it in fourth where at 260 I need to go to third on the 2 turns before going down the hill before the pit.
Anyway got a decent race finished without any MAJOR screw-ups. May rerun tomorrow if the weather keeps me off the real road. I want to go out to the Park/Beach and take some pics of the Chevelle and Mini. Wish I could find a closed circuit where I could run the Mini, I'll have to check with the local Mini Club. That little Supercharged go-kart is beggin to go driving, I've never experienced a better handling car in my life, it's like it has Super Glue for tires and a suspension so stiff you can't bounce it at all. But because of the short wheelbase, low center of gravity, and width it's a surprisingly smooth ride. The '70 Chevelle on the other hand handles like a stagecoach and brakes like one too. They didn't think about anything but HP back in the Muscle Car era, cornering and braking just didn't matter. But dumping the clutch in first and hearing the roar of a V8 and the squealing, smoking tires makes it all worth while. Zero to sixty is almost better than sex...actually sometimes it is better.. and longer :)
Good Luck Ya'll, Im gonna send times to both eats and Scott.

EDIT: I can only get 7 laps on RM's, 5 on RS's.

ok 👍 sent my times to Eats' as well as Shig
thanks for doing that bro 👍

it'll be nice to know how things stand before the middle of next week :sly:

J.R.

SHig,time sent to you and BCC to eatsviper.
Had no time (and patience) to try it again so I sent my banker race...
I love this car but it has a serious problem: it's heavy and on these bumpy tracks like Deep Forest and Trial Mountain eats the tires.Tried to mix them, put on hards to the rear, but I can't controll it at all...its balance disappears...crashed into the walls various places...I gave it up.
That's all from Trial Mountain.

I ran a banker today, and well, I plan on running at least once more today. I know I can improve because I got a penalty on lap 38. That really sucked! So one more run for me, and then I'll submit.

Thanks for taking up this responsibility Scott. It's greatly appreciated. I sure hope EV4L is ok. This is the longest absence from him yet. :nervous:

Times submitted to Scott and Eats. Good Luck guys!! Eric, I'm worried about you this week, you don't really need to rerun:)

OMG, I can't get another clean run in, and my banker is deffinitly not fast enough. Arg. I kinda have to submit what I have now though, as I can't do another run. Stupid real life eh?

We shall see. :sly:

I PM'd ya my times Eric, I know two other drivers within 4 seconds of my time.

EDIT: Betcha we get results quick this week....Thanks in advance Shig!1

I've already submitted to eats and fasj and my partner has submitted, so I'll open the submissions that I have to get a head start on things...
