Reviews:

I am waiting for this game to have a more-diverse car selection and a much, much, much, much better online multiplayer GUI setup finally...

The news of a PGR4 isn't very surprising, and I'm sure everyone who knew of the series' existence was expecting it. Peugeot may have let it slip, but it wasn't much of a secret to begin with. :)

...No, the series is far too popular to not continue on with another sequel. I think it is the lack of the slower cars that has pushed production of this game forward, and I think there are some fans who want to return to cities like Moscow and Chicago as well.

I missed the old format from PGR2, but I still liked PGR3 quite a bit...

I still can't believe how BAD the GUI is for the online portion of PGR3. It can literally take hours just to find a game that even somewhat resembles what you're looking for, and you can expect to do a lot of server-hopping and watching the loading screen as you stumble into servers that are either completely different from what you want, or already in the middle of a race.

Yeah, it all seems a bit messy. When the formula worked out so well before, why drastically change it? Granted, some of the menu slections once in a lobby are nice, but the whole thing of getting to the game itself is quite messy.

But the good thing is that PGR3 isn't crawling with douche bags like PGR2 has been...

Yep. I remember I beat several idiots that had Enzoes with... the Porsche Cayenne. No kidding.

[/bragging]

Oh yeah? I can top that. :sly:

[bragging]

I remember beating a rather driving-inept friend of mine around the Nurburgring in PGR2 once. Even though he was driving the Speed 12, I finished with a 30-second lead.

...In the Miata.

[/bragging]

Oh yeah, I did pleny of that when I was on the final leg of that game (before the move to 360). I would often challenge rooms to races where they would all be in Boxster S' while I would take on the Cayenne Turbo... About 95% of the time I would win, almost always second or better.

The problem was, the online features of the game were just too full of pre-teens and other idiots who don't seem to know how to play a racing title. In my top-three moments of douchebaggery:

1) A kid attempted to convince me that the Saleen S7 was powered by an engine made out of carbon fiber, displaced 429ci, and was indeed the fastest car in the world.

2) Another kid attempted to convince me that the BOSS 429 Mustang is the rarest of all Mustangs, saying that there were only two in existance, while there are in fact thousands more. Not only that, he firmly belived that it was faster than the BOSS 302, which is indeed a lie as well.

3) And in another moment of stupidity, another guy wouldn't belive that Chevrolet built a 302ci V8 from 1967-1970 for the Camaro Z/28... Added to that, he didn't belive that the Z/28 was a full production model, and he claimed to work for the GM Plant in Deleware.

...Easily the biggest moments that I can think of at the moment...

Oh god, I had so many moments just like that, but I can't remember any of them. Probably because I've been trying to repress the memories.

Enhanced Weather Simulation: “One of the slickest new features in PGR is its weather. Bizarre’s using what it likes to call ‘extreme weather’ for more than just making the sky gray. Water beads up on beautifully on all the gorgeous paintjobs, spray jets out from the tires, and in the in-car view, wipers move and windshields ice up.”
Enhanced Raceway Environments: “A TV-style intro sets up each event, with a commentator offering wisdom…Choppers buzz overhead, camera crews and video vans are everywhere, and hordes of fans line the track. They’ll wear gear with your logo, wave your national flag, and react far more obviously to your performance.”
Extended Car Selection: “PGR4 will deliver a much broader set of vehicles, ranging from a vintage’63 Corvette Sting Ray and the ’54 Maserati 250F to the sleek, ultra-modern Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.”
On the tracks: “You won’t want to miss out on your viewing time with PGR4’s tracks, which tally up to 200-plus in 10 locations.”
On Xbox Live initiatives: “PGR4’s cooking up a mysterious new matchmaking system (like Halo 2’s).”
On in-car view: ” Bizarre has two key improvements in the works. You’ll now see drivers moving more- feeding the wheel as they zip through turns or pumping their fist after a win. Special effects will also crank up the tension in key moments: you’ll get a shake effect at high speeds, and your vision will blur after spending some quality time with a a wall.”
In conclusion: “PGR4 feels hugely promising- like a proper sequel with loads of cool new toys.”

...Can't wait!

10 Locations! D*mn! That's what? 20 tracks per city?

I can't wait to see this game in real footage. GTA just looked fooking amazing, so this should look leagues better over PGR3.

Das ist sehr gut!

...I'm looking forward to throwing around a Z06 in Helsinki in the snow. Maybe a Jaguar XKR in the pouring rain of Seattle? Hell, maybe *gasp* a Veyron through the streets of Hollywood?

I'm looking forward to the car lists and city locations...

Wow... So many great games coming out this year and next year.
First GTA IV being one of the most anticipated (can't wait for it to come out), now this aswell. One things for sure im buying both for 360.

PGR4 looks pretty ground-breaking for a racing game. It will be fun to chuck around ferrari's and Lambo's in the rain and snow.

When's it coming out?

Citrus

Duck, you might want to repost thoes scans 👍.

Should be pretty sweet, I still play PGR3, it's one of my favorite 360 games.

Looks amazing!

Anyone else thinking take a Ferrari in show covered streets would be awesome? I'm still waiting for the chance to drive the Nordschliefe in the rain.

Forget the rain, give me an Audi and snow around the Ring, now that would be fun.
