Not sure where this comes from - as the molecule titin, when written out as a full IUPAC name, is 189,819 letters.

But not one of these words is anywhere near as cool as:
Awkward.
Onomatopoeia.

I think some governement words are pretty funny. They are supposed to be all technical, so they came up with "filibuster", which, as you probably know, is when the democrats stall for time by making retarded arguments, trying to make up excuses and figure out a reason why the republicans are wrong, and not necessarily trying to prove they are right.[/sarcasm]

There are a few others I heard but I can't remember.
 
I heard a word in a Biology lesson at college, thought it was brilliant and promptly forgot it. I think it was poli-something-or-other, ended in y and had something to do with flowers. Any ideas?

Biology's always good for some interesting words though. Flagella, for instance... :D
 
I like discombobulate. I have no idea what it means, or even if its real word, but I like the way it sounds.
