"My curiosity as to where we stand with the PS3 and FF support finally got the better of me today. I wanted to be clear about this, so, after a lengthy conversation today with someone from Sony, I can now tell you the following:
The PS3 does and will - support force feedback in all driving games where the developer chooses to code it into their game.
No technical issues, no licensing issues, just a straight forward YES. Most current PS2 wheels appear to still work, and there are some new ones on the way.
Gran Turismo appears to be the first racing game that will include FF in the final code.
F106 (as we know) does not include FF, simply because the developer has left it out. After I had pointed out that that would be a huge backward step, it was suggested to me that it has been left out, probably due to time restrictions for getting this out at launch.
I have also been told that Sony intend to follow Microsofts lead in using downloadable patches. In this instance, it would be possible for a developer to issue a patch for FF on a game after release.
So the scenario is not quite as bad as i had once feared. Just need to find a way of putting some pressure on studio liverpool to sort this out, if they are not already doing so."
