"My curiosity as to where we stand with the PS3 and FF support finally got the better of me today. I wanted to be clear about this, so, after a lengthy conversation today with someone from Sony, I can now tell you the following:

The PS3 does and will - support force feedback in all driving games where the developer chooses to code it into their game.
No technical issues, no licensing issues, just a straight forward YES. Most current PS2 wheels appear to still work, and there are some new ones on the way.

Gran Turismo appears to be the first racing game that will include FF in the final code.

F106 (as we know) does not include FF, simply because the developer has left it out. After I had pointed out that that would be a huge backward step, it was suggested to me that it has been left out, probably due to time restrictions for getting this out at launch.

I have also been told that Sony intend to follow Microsofts lead in using downloadable patches. In this instance, it would be possible for a developer to issue a patch for FF on a game after release.

So the scenario is not quite as bad as i had once feared. Just need to find a way of putting some pressure on studio liverpool to sort this out, if they are not already doing so."

Nice info its great to see the ffb function is going to be in gt5 it means I will definetly be getting it now.

More Sony misinformation!
Denial to the end!
Japan already has ffb in GT it was removed from the U.S version for reasons surrounding the ongoing litigation. Now resolved:tup:
Studio liverpool didnt simply decide to rush out a product without ffb for any other reason than at that time than Sony published software couldnt include it for the same reasons.
Sonys statement here is trying to save face, they are never going to publically admit the reasons why FFB technology was not a feature of Sonys own brand products. to them the issue is over, after being somewhat humiliated by public and press over the errors made over this whole farcacle issue.
If Sony had settled this matter long ago, they would have recieved none of the bad press on this issue which has been constantly biting at their heels, and affecting its image.

This is a huge Victory for the power of the consumer!

That's not from Sony, though.

SL should have delayed it, like GT5 did, and waited for FFB, like GT5 did.

FFB stands for force feedback, it's when you use a wheel when you play a game and you can feel the wheel fighitng you when you turn, that's FFB.
