Alex - I can't imagine you'll be seeing any One-77s on the road any time soon. The first completed cars are supposed to be delivered in October 2010 (that'll be June 2011 then) and all the testing is probably out on Gaydon's very, very, very large track.

It also hasn't been mentioned in this thread that a single UAE buyer bought ten of them for his family's personal use.

Of course the McLaren F1 is still one of the fastest cars ever made, but i don't consider it ALL BRITISH, that's why i left it out. It has a german engine in it. Much the same as McLaren's F1 cars. But regardless, I consider the cars mentioned as really just one off specials. They aren't much in terms of production cars. Maybe a few examples. Even the One-77 is only a limited run of 77 cars, but still a lot more than some of the cars you've mentioned. And Noble don't use their own engines either. The XJ220 i consider the fastest all british production supercar.
Well, in that case, I guess Pagani isn't really Italian, Koenigsegg wasn't Swedish, & Spyker is actually German.

Note!!! I said British PRODUCTION CAR COMPANY. As in MANUFACTURER!! Is McLaren a manufacturer? Do they mass produce and assemble road cars? How about TVR? How about Radical? McLaren has how many cars? TVR hasn't made a vehicle in ages. Radical, again, how many cars? A one-off prototype shouldn't be considered a production car, as in, passenger car. Which is what I was getting at. Aston Produces passenger cars and so does Jaguar. McLaren is just now producing it's first car in over 10-15 years. That is why I am saying the XJ220 and this Aston One-77 were among the fastest british passenger car company made vehicles.

It's really not polite to read in between the lines and add your two-cents in an attempt to poke fun. 👎 sorry

really? I didn't know McLaren made more than just the MP4 and the F1. And I thought TVR hasn't made any cars for quite a bit now. And I didn't assume the radical as a passenger vehicle. I was only making a point on how fast the One-77 is in top speed. Regardless of how british those other cars or makes are, the One-77 is among the fastest from the UK.

really? I didn't know McLaren made more than just the MP4 and the F1.

And the SLR. And they maintain existing cars. And they built a two-seater, Formula-One-spec car. And they have three models currently in the pre-production stage.

McLaren Automotive are not Vodafone McLaren Mercedes.

And I thought TVR hasn't made any cars for quite a bit now.

The last car they actually made was the Sagaris in 2006. After a period of... what can be politely termed "asset readjustment", a new model is pending. Apparently using a Chevrolet LS V8. It's a recent thread in this forum.

And I didn't assume the radical as a passenger vehicle.

Radical make seven different models that I know of (one is a zero emissions vehicle), all 2 seater and all road legal unless specified otherwise (as opposed to an accepted road car like the Ariel Atom, which must be specified as road legal or it won't be built road legal).

There's nothing that says a manufacturer has to mass produce cars to be classified as such. If that were the case, Porsche & Ferrari are the only actual "manufacturers" who make supercars.
How about TVR? How about Radical? McLaren has how many cars? TVR hasn't made a vehicle in ages.
Neither has Oldsmobile. Doesn't mean it isn't a manufacturer anymore.
McLaren is just now producing it's first car in over 10-15 years.
So, what? McLaren produced over 100 cars from '92-'98. After that, they built all the SLRs in the world over 7 years & lord knows they built a lot of them.

McLaren, TVR, Radical, etc. They are all production car companies.

so what? i made a statement and that is what i stand by. I dont think the radical should be considered a 'road car'. It doesn't do 200 mph. The cars the do over 200 mph aren't very popular. I only stated that I think the One-77 was one of the fastest british production cars. Besides the Jag XJ220. The McLaren F1 is faster yes but McLaren doesn't produce cars in regularity the way Aston Martin and Jaguar do. That's all I meant. There's no need to argue with me. Regardless of opinion the One-77 is an awesome looking and performing car.

Why not?

Other 200mph British cars:

Ascari Ecosse
McLaren Mercedes SLR
Ford GT40
Bentley Continental Flying Spur (the only 4 door on the list)
Aston Martin Vanquish S
Ascari KZ1
Jaguar XJR-15
Bristol Fighter
McLaren MP4/12c
Bentley Continental GT Speed
Bristol Fighter T
Ascari A10

I have more, but I'm bored now.

Jaguar didn't make the XJ220, TWR did in their own factory. So you can't really class Jaguar as a supercar manufacturer either.

Also, this isn't a car manufacturing facility?

Because it was designed and built in England - more accurately it was based on a Lola chassis (Huntingdon, England), designed in Bromley (England), and constructed under the supervision of a former Aston Martin racing team manager (Newport Pagnell, England) at Slough (England) and Coventry (England).

Wait a second. The One-77 is now a production car, but the F1 isn't even though the production numbers will be a difference of 11 cars (should Aston only make 77), just because Aston Martin produce 3 other cars?

I think Dave was right when he said you make up your definitions as you go along.

Very old again, but just found it yesterday (Edit: Seems I did not take the time before on www.one-77.com/) and did not see it here yet, the background videos:

It seems they pop up on the streets

There's only 1 road legal one. The videos above came from a supercar cruise from London to Silverstone last Friday, culminating in a lap of the new GP circuit.

I asked the guy loading the car onto a trailer at the end of the weekend if they were intending on taking it to Goodwood. "We don't know yet" was the answer.

Plugging some of the pictures I took from Silverstone again:

Pictures don't do the pearlescent white paint justice.

Quite a while since I checked this thread.

The Nuerburgring, that means they are out in the wild!👍

Found more info: Aston Martin test drivers, delivery beginning 2011.

But it's a Ford. :nervous:

The One-77 is one seriously nice ride, however I don't feel it's the best Aston has done and can do aesthetically speaking. Although under the bonnet sure does look good!
Seeing it in real life would probably make all the difference I think.:)
