It's Thursday practice time again! You probably know the drill...

Open at 9:15pm EST, first race at 9:30pm, all three combo run twice in reverse grid, party chat encouraged but not necessary (it's more fun when we all laugh together...!).

How do you like your DD Extreme compared to the T598? I have the T598 as well and started having disconnect issues when hot after 3 or 4 months. Following @Oshawa-Joe's advice I spread the prongs at the plug going into the base from the power supply in order to make better contact, and it's been working well again ever since. I moved them with my knife, left one more left, middle one down, and right one more right. So instead of --- more like - . - if that makes sense. I've also put a few things on my rig from 3DRap. The brake pedal elastometer kit to help me feel how hard im pushing the brakes was good. I'd recommend it for any pedal set that's not Load Cell. Speaking of Thrustmaster just released the Raceline LC Pedal Upgrade yesterday I see. SOLD OUT already, of course so mine's not in the mail yet. I also put the Feelings Pro kit from 3DRap on including rumble motors on gas, brake, under the pedal board and under the seat. Plus two fans that match road speed for more immersion. Other than the gas and brake rumbles which i believe help you maintain traction, the rest is just for fun. You have to hook them up to a laptop and run Sim Hub to use them.
So, I currently have the T248, T598 (back from France and supposedly repaired), I have the DD Pro 8nm and the Clubsport DD which is the 15nm that comes with the extreme bundle.

Honestly, as far as feel... the T598 base/wheel is FAR more active in my hands. I just feel so much more with it. From what I have been told, Thrustmaster is just more native with the PS5. Gear shifts, curbs, impacts all come thru to my hands. Fanatec has the ability to do all those things, its just not getting the data from gt7 I guess? Everything from Fanatec has just felt dead in my hands in comparison to the T598. Outside of the connectivity issues and limited parts to be able to swap out with... as far as the Playstation is concerned.... I prefer the T598. If it stays working of course.

Brake pedal... Load Cell all the way. I got the CSL load cell brake pedal upgrade for my Fanatec DD Pro set up. Initially, hated it. Its a BRICK. Hardly moved a half inch. It took some changing out elastomers to get it to where I had at least some travel. The difference, from what I understand, is that it is easier to replicate pressure over and over than it is to replicate distance of travel. Try moving your foot only 3/4 of an inch repetitively... way easier for your body to remember force.

Im all in on the immersion game, lol. I have four 50w Bst 1's... they run my 4 corners (curbs, traction loss per corner, etc..). I have one 25w under my brake and one 25w under the gas pedal. I have one 300w under my seat for engine vibration, road feel, impacts.. and another 300w at my back for gear shifts, impacts. And of course amps with headroom to power everything, simhub, etc... All of the mounts for the 50's and 300's are welded in. No noise... solid. All this with VR and it feels pretty real. At this point... Im kinda "fancying up" the game room at the moment. I have everything I could possibly need really... just need to find the skill somewhere, lol.

I, clearly, do not interpret the below algorithm correctly then.
Sorry for the delayed reply. The scenario described in the Tie-Breaking Process of the OLR outlines what would happen if the prize winners happened to vote to eliminate the combo that got the least amount of votes. Because if that happened, removing their vote(s) wouldn’t break the tie between the two combos that got the most votes. That scenario further points out that the possibility of all three prize winners voting for the combo with the least amount of votes is highly unlikely because it would essentially mean that every other driver voted for a different combo than the prize winners (who all voted for the same combo). While that possibility certainly isn’t impossible, it’s definitely unlikely and against all odds.

Ready for tomorrow night. Got the Gr.3 Jaaaag out from Nova’s series along with…the Kart. I chose a livery that represents my feelings towards it. I wish that I could set it on fire or push it down the mountain at Eiger. 😂

See you guys tomorrow !

It has been brought to my attention, the Kart's transmission can be changed and current lobby settings (or lack thereof) can be exploited.

Don't be a " 'sploiter", leave it/set it stock.

N: You must not use any cheats or bugs in the game. The use of cheats or bugs affecting the cars performance is forbidden.

You may not adjust any other settings...

I’ll only be available for the first race. Got to wake up at 2 AM tomorrow. Who’s available to take screenshots in D2 tonight? I’ll try to get someone set up while I’m the pre game lobby at 9 if no one answers here. ou8beaver2 (musty gopher, I think) did a good job of it last week.

"I have read the first post and would like to join," Niagara invited me

@Smithy 1989

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing league:

  • We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR).
  • Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to proceed with your entry into the league:
  1. You start a conversation, by clicking this link, and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, llNovall, Akzl298, JamCar0ne & Dragonwhisky as "Recipients".
    1. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".
  2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join SNAIL [Spec] Racing.
  3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand these links.
    1. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating and maintaining this league and we would be more than happy to have you race with us. We do ask you take the time and effort to prepare. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts linked below.
  4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍
Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to SNAIL

As an aside, there will be more to get done once you start the conversation and, if you want to race this coming Sunday, you'll need to get it all done by 11:59PM eastern time Saturday night.
