My Car-Show entry for this week. The background in San Diego. Buffalo sports teams have had a good week in California.

After beating San Jose and L.A., I'm hoping to see my Sabres complete a sweep of California's NHL teams when they play Anaheim tonight. And last night the Buffalo Bandits managed a huge comeback over the San Diego Seals. (Assuming no other Snails follow NLL Lacrosse?)

I've been meaning to take a Sunday off but find myself still logging on at race time. More of the same for me.
My participation tonight = Questionable

^^^^^^
Ouch !!!!
Pour some more salt in that NHL wound I’m dealing with.

And…Anaheim is the closest team to my house, but they are not my team. I will however be rooting for them tonight.

Looks like your Bandits might have their hands full next weekend! 🤔

We have season tickets to the Bandits for a long time. Saskatchewan has a really good team but don't let those win/loss records fool you. When these teams played in Buffalo late February, my Bandits came out on top in OT.

Division 1
  1. Ridger23 ---------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  2. GTP_Worstdriver --- voted to eliminate Round 3
  3. Oshawa-Joe -------- voted to eliminate Round 2 - Prize A
  4. Dragonwhisky ------ voted to eliminate Round 3 - Prize C
  5. DUB-L-DEE --------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  6. Nic-KL ------------ voted to eliminate Round 2
  7. DRD_Niagara ------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  8. HURB_OSS_117_ ----- voted to eliminate Round 3
  9. JamCar0ne --------- voted to eliminate Round 3
Division 2
  1. RacingChamp30 ----- voted to eliminate Round 1
  2. Canoworms1 -------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  3. arethosetacos ----- voted to eliminate Round 1 - Prize B
  4. Cdn_Sweet_Tee ----- voted to eliminate Round 2
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - BMW M6 GT3 Sprint Model '16 (RM) at Fuji International Speedway - S01 Early Morning (9 laps)
Therefore, the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. @Oshawa-Joe wins Prize A, and gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Alfa Romeo MiTo '09 (CS) at Dragontrail International Raceway Seaside Reverse - S01 Night (7 laps)
This means either the car or track will be replaced for next week's line-up. @arethosetacos is the Prize B winner and they have the option to freeze the car or the track, or they can give that option to the Prize C winner. If they give the freeze away, they get to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Dragonwhisky - they get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it's confirmed you don't have any penalties.
  • It is recommended you visit SNAIL combo history, along with other data on our car and track history, to review how many times we've raced each car and/or track.
  • Please remember, originality is always appreciated. Although not required, picking cars and tracks we've never raced is a plus.
  • What's more important is, you thoroughly test any combo you are considering, before making it your official selection.
    • For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter, either hard1 or soft2, at any point during a race, even in the draft.

IMPORTANT:
  • When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting.
    • For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98".
    • If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza".
    • Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers.
  • Please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select.
  • For track selections, include the Preset Weather and the Time of the Day (e.g.: S01 Afternoon) or it will be set to default.
    • Available settings can be found under Time/Weather Settings, when creating an online Lobby, after selecting your track.

Car Selection Guidelines
See Section 3 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines.

Track Selection Guidelines
See Section 3.1 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines
.

1Hitting the "hard" limit causes the RPMs to "bounce" and reduces torque and speed.
2Hitting the "soft" limit ceases all acceleration potential. Meaning, you're not going to go any faster.

Some observations:
  • I don't recall seeing a month where every driver in D1 has managed at least 1 podium.
  • @Oshawa-Joe has a great night and manages to get himself into D1's Top 3 for the night.
  • Full time driver cards to be issued to @DublDee & @CdnSweetTee.
  • @Dragonwhisky on the verge of being issued an Alien driver card as he finds the win column for the 2nd week in a row.
Is it a sign of the apocalypse or is it that Snails are an unpredictable bunch? Somehow, the Kart will be making a return next week and somehow, we've been racing the Alfa Romeo MiTo for 4 weeks with the possibility of it making a return for a 5th week.

Nice to see @arethosetacos take the grid and avoiding a move to the Inactive list. Hoping to see @Gurney67, @TexHill, @CTwin and @OlegLocke to the same for next Sunday.

See you at the Car-Show.

Replace the car (freeze the track)!
Well, I was gonna' see if I could annoy @Worst_Driver into buying a VGT he's already bought and sold at least once, however, the Viziv doesn't have an interior modeled, doesn't sound as good as I remember it from GT6, and the Alpine was just not immediately fun at Seaside. It didn't like the curbs at all.

I went looking through this list, after I got ChatGPT to write me a formula to populate it, and discovered there may not be very many cars SNAIL hasn't ever ran, in one version of GT or another. So I decided to pick one that's been a few years since it has been ran, that will behave better over the Dragon teeth (aka curbs) and see if it drops off that list after next Sunday.

It's not near as stable around Seaside as that little Mito, which has earned my respect as a fun little car to fly by/through the death chicken.

Without further adieu,
Prize C will be the Toyota GR Supra RZ '19 545.87PP on SH tires. MDLT 1:58. I did turn a 1:57.xxx in the 10 check out laps I ran, so I expect the true 👽s in our midst will pull that down well into the 56s, if not 55s.

@JamCar0ne

Prize A:

Ford Focus RS '19 on SH - Last used June 2023
350hp
3433lbs
523.61pp

Autodromo Lago Maggiore- East Reverse
S09 - Sunset

MDLT should be 1:38.000 for a 10 lap race
I don't think the track layout has been used before and I really enjoyed it when testing.
As a bonus, we are already practicing some of the difficult corners with the kart!

Thursday practice lobby opens at 9:15pm EST tonight. First race at 9:30pm, all three combo run twice in reverse grid.

As always, casual racing to get a shot of the next combos. To be honest, I didn't think the go-kart would last more than a week. Kinda proud of it...!

I think that kart is growing on everyone, and it provided some pretty good racing in D1 last Sunday
