Car Show!
The Stratos already had my old "livery", such as it was, so slobbered my current base color on it, added the windshield banner and 1 more "sticker" on both sides and it was ready for transport to Japan.

@JamCar0ne You gonna' pick a back up car for that Stratos? Don't know how long it's been in the UCD.

JUNE 2026 - WEEK #2 STANDINGS
1781786307973.webp

I've been falling behind in all walks of life these days and it's affected my critical Snail duties. Better late than never, here's our weekly scoreboard.

Some Observations:
  • The Wins and Podiums seem to be getting passed around a little in recent weeks in D1.
  • Attendance dropped in June in D2. Is it correlated to the new 8:30 start time? It is the weather outside getting nicer?
  • Looks like I'll have to re-embark on my recruitment crusade.
See you at the Car-Show, which has already started and includes a contribution by a rare Sunday SPEC Snail.

Perfect week to be back, an all road car line up. When the most powerful car is a Genesis Coupe, you know its my cup of tea. Looking forward to tonight’s practice.

Pikes Peak is a great addition to the scapes, I just wish PD would add it as a track, it would be insane and also I could drive it again (virtually)

My Mustang and I on the way to the top of Pikes Peak in 2024. One of the best road I drove, I was there on a monday morning so there was very little traffic.

The exposure near the top is something else. The higher we got, the more gutless (even more so than usual) the 4.6 became due to lower oxygen. I spent around 45 minutes at the top at which point you realize that oxygen is very underated.

One replay of each combo is now uplaoded.

It's a bit early, but I am already announcing that I will NOT host the next Thursday practice night. I will be out of town from June 24 till 28. I will be back for the Sunday, 28th races.
I should be able to host next practice.

Wife saw these while shopping the other day. Thought they were hilarious.

This was the one with the fragrance she liked best of the three.

Figured ya'll might find them amusing as well.

No, I don't use any of those particular Old Spice products.

I have read the first post and would like to join.

Wanted to get into proper racing so have started training myself properly and good league racing is a big step so thats why!

@Mhm2133

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing league:

  • We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR).
  • Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to proceed with your entry into the league:
  1. You start a conversation (GTPlanet Direct Message), by clicking this link, and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, llNovall, Akzl298, JamCar0ne & Dragonwhisky as "Recipients".
    1. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".
  2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join SNAIL [Spec] Racing.
  3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand these links.
    1. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating and maintaining this league and we would be more than happy to have you race with us. We do ask you take the time and effort to prepare. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts linked below.
  4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍
Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to SNAIL

As an aside, there will be more to get done once you start the conversation and, if you want to race this coming Sunday, you'll need to get it all done by 11:59PM eastern time Saturday night.

My Car-Show entry takes me to Vancouver this week. Sports Illustrated recently ranked Vancouver #1 host of all current World Cup 2026 in terms of affordability, walkability and climate. Hope our Canadian team can hang around there for a few more weeks.

Happy fathers day to all Snails dads. I've always said Father's Day is the more underrated holiday on the calendar.

I'll likely be out at a family dinner tomorrow and it can be tight getting home in time for Combo #1. But I plan to log on as soon as I can.

I guess this is the Late Car Show. I've used this spot in the past, but it seems appropriate as I've seen a backdrop for World Cup TV coverage where the yellow sulfur pile in the back is visible. When I look to my left while racing I can see the pile 16 km away, we have a killer view of downtown Vancouver from our upper deck. And, yes I'm good to go racing tonight.
