For anyone that is not running in the FIA Cup Races, I'll be opening a Snail Combo practice lobby.

Probably around 7:30pm Central
Rotating thru the Combos, 4-laps and Rev Grid starts.

Will keep the Lobby running as long as there is interest. (But not all night long - someone else can take over in that case)

But the new and improved penalty algorithms are in place! Lol....I did the Daily Race A this morning. Before even making it out of the first turn I was bumped and rammed and quickly picked up a 10 second penalty. Yeah right.....

What a harsh reality non snail racing is. The Blue Moon Race was a disaster, qualified 2nd, got bumped into another car and got a 20 second penalty. Not really sure how that works. Lol

It's a really tough go in sport. You have to cover the the inside early or get railed big time. Obviously conceding will never happen. Have recently had guys braking right after the last chicane at nurburgring to burn off penalties. Wtf, I brake hard losing all momentum and losing position. Apparently there are a lot of tricks used in Sport that I need to be aware of.

I have to admit I'm still making some mistakes. Not as sharp as I want to be in traffic before coming back to SNAIL, but its getting close I think.

SNAIL is the best, cleanest online racing going.

Your fine, and practicing with Snails is much easier imo

I'm glad I never got invested in Sport Mode. Too much nonsense. I'll stick to GTPlanet

In Combo 1 there is a question about T2, the sharp right.
Is the Barrier on the inside of the turn the track boundary - or is the Rumble Strip?
At most tracks, as long as 2 wheels are on the rumbles then it is permitted to have 2 wheels inside the rumbles.
Please let us know the Ruling.

FIA Race Report at Blue Moon Bay: @Neutty bumpdrafted me and him into 3rd and 4th qualifying spots - exactly the same time. I got a good getaway and sitting in third drafting No 1 and 2 with a good gap to neutty in 4th. I turned down fuel consumption and was sitting pretty. Then.... got disconnected. Score = 0. Looks like my internet made a blip. It was a bit slow during the day.... Like a true Canadian I'm joining @Nicktune in the GTS Protesting Picket Line

That's a good question it makes it pretty exciting if you can go down to the wall a lot of passes there

Just a heads up. @stelephant reminded me that Amazon prime day is in 4 days. I'm going to hold off till then to upgrade my standard T300 rim to this. No idea if simracing hardware is included on prime day but that might be a good time to buy stuff if you're looking to upgrade anything.

You may want to get gloves to protect the Alcantara. I don't use gloves and have to clean the rim every couple of weeks. Love the rim. Looks like the rim is already on sale for you.

I would think it being the FIA sanctioned events in GT Sport that any driver on track being way too aggressive would be kicked out of the room. Obviously the ones being the most aggressive are not trying to win the top prize the FIA is offering. The people who run project cars 2 cracked down on aggressive drivers online so i don't see a reason why PD is not cracking down on aggressive drivers that shows they will not stop being overly aggressive.

I agree with you but I also think they don't really care about a lot of the folks in the lower tiers. I mean, I'm C/S and a top 5 finish garners garbage points (less than 300 iirc). There's absolutely no chance of the FIA meaning anything other than bragging rights. I think that leads to jerks in the room. You have to labor through Sport lobbies full of Reggie Roby's to get your DR up high enough to get a clean FIA lobby that actually scores points. One kid having a bad day can thwart that run quickly. (btw, I didn't see penalty changes. Getting rear ended got ME a penalty)

Another issue is that no matter how many people are serious about this and think it will mean something in the real world there are so many others that are just seeing it as another option for an online race and nothing more.

PD is a business - it's all about the Bottom Line.
Kicking people out of competitions will negatively influence their Market Share (which is getting smaller as new SIM Racing games arrive)
Clean Racing Drivers probably represent a small percentage of the total subscriber/paying players in GTS. So the unstated importance is to please the larger group with "an opportunity to compete in an organized race format". Sadly, the Hotheads, Bumper Busters, and Dive bombers have no clue about trying to "simulate" real racing - they just want to win, and brag about it.
Would like to be a fly on the wall when the folks at PD actually discuss these issues.
I'm surprised Kaz does not influence PD about the control, and dismissal of Kamikaze drivers.
