The situation was, we were getting overly full in the other Divisions, to the point of possibly having drivers not able to race because of space issues. That would not have been good for anyone.

Division 1 had plenty of space, so we moved some of our best Division 2 drivers into Division 1 and the best from Division 3 to re-fill Division 2.

We now have near full rooms across the board, I think that's a good thing.

No?

Sorry realized I want clear in want I was saying. I meant count 3 out of the 5 races so last week isn't for nothing. Totally understand the rest and agree

I see, said the blind man to his deaf wife  thanks 👍

zer05ive and I talked about that, but the lower than normal numbers makes last weeks results somewhat skewed.

We realize everyone had an opportunity to race and there was enough advance notice. We were just surprised that so few were able to race.

With the promotions and September having 5 weeks, it just seemed a natural to go to best 3 of 4 for the remainder of the month.

That said, we'd be more than happy to hear what others have to say 👍

Can we vote on this? How about 3 out of 5? Not trying to make a problem just asking.

If I may add to cheeb's reply.. We only vote when we're trying to make the popular decision. This is more about making the right decision. Counting 3 out of 5 weeks doesn't address the main problem, which is that six of our members are having their scores from last week erased for one reason and one reason only - because they drove well! To penalize them for scoring a boat load of points (e.g. Soren535's 97 points) while allowing everyone else to keep theirs just isn't right.

Another reason for this decision (although admittedly much less important) is that last week's attendance was horrible. Had we know that Labor Day weekend would affect attendance so much, we wouldn't have had official races. This low attendance created unusually high scores that aren't reflective of a typical Sunday night. Again, this was less of a factor but a factor nonetheless. Please let me know if anyone has any other concerns or questions.

👍
(for the big decision)

I've got some ideas bouncing around in my head. I'm going to be building a full cockpit from the ground up. I'll start with the seat from my playseat and build a shell around it. I'm going to carpet the entire inside of the rig and I will probably have my buddy that works at a sign shop whip up some graphics in vinyl for the outside. The whole thing needs to be able to slide under my pool table for easy and out of the way storage.

Once I get started on it, I'll post some pics and let everyone see the progress of the rig.

Damn thats awesome. Id love to see... and also start my job again so I can get a wheel n do the same lol

"I see, said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw..." :dopey:

Bwahahahah! I think I am losing my mind!! The new wheel is melting my brain (and killing my back!). I guess I should lay off for awhile.... mmm NAH!!

Totally understand. I guess I didn't want to lose my points either. Lol. I see now that that wouldn't be fair to those promoted.

Is this a Northern Shield uprising? You can tell winter is coming. :dopey: We should do a Canada VS USA race sometime for fun.

Puts me in a quandary eh ? Born and raised in Canada but have lived in the US for 50 years .... a man without a country :scared:

I've been busy building a race seat but probably should have been practicing. Time to burn the midnight oil.

I have been pondering a bit of an idea that was inspired by the way my college is set up. I go to school completely over the computer, one of the few art schools that actually does this, but my idea lies within a driver profile. I'm not at the point where I'd have time to be able to act on this idea, but I think it is interested.

Basically having a page, where we can see all of the drivers of snail (who would wish to participate), a "driver's license photo" that could be an actual drivers license (important data excluded) or just a photograph, and maybe a little info. I think it would be extremely interesting to put a face to a name/voice as we all race together. Maybe it's a farfetched idea, but every thought is generally a good one.

Please any number of room,i got the 1,2,3 SNAIL_division friends and no1 is online

I just checked and there are eight SNAILs in the D1 lounge right now. Please note that the SNAIL Divisional accounts are rarely online, but that doesn't mean that nobody is in the lounge. Just like on race night, you need to join the lounge even if there's no orange icon next to the "coffee cup" Lounge button.

EDIT: Looks like you already figured it out because you're one of the drivers in the D1 lounge! :)

Can anyone here recommend a cheap racing seat/gaming chair? I don't want to spend over 150, but this lawn chair is killing me

Screw the racing seat. A La-Z-Boy (not reclined, of course) with two throw pillows behind your back and the wheel on a nice heavy TV tray works great! ;)

I don't plan on buying a racing seat or anything fancy, just somethingbetter than a lawn chair

Go to a pick and pull and grab a BMW front seat for about $50. Then make yourself a rig. Assuming you can nail some would together.

Now the important stuff.

I have had too much too drink so off to D1;)

Just go o. Kijiji and look for race seats. I picked up 2 Sat for 100 bucks. Going to sell the other for 75. Built a box out of 2x4s and tied it in to the wheelstand pro. It's awesome!

Rock solid but I need to make a trip to Home Depot and get a few more things to finish it up. The seat box locks into the wheelstand box and can be taken apart in seconds for storage. All the wood will be painted black when I'm done.

I use this on my couch and with a throw pillow in the small of my back. It definitely isn't fancy, but it gets the job done, and I like that unlike some similar ones, the stand doesn't have a bar between the knees.
