That option is not available to you as was stated in the conversation. Your have chosen to use the freeze and since you have already used the freeze this season, your prize will be turned over to a vote by your division.

If you raced in D2 you get to vote to freeze the car or the track from the Focus at Laguna Seca combo. Votes must be cast by posting in this thread and you are not allowed to edit your post to change your vote. Voting will close at 11:59 PM ET tonight or when a majority is reached.

Track is frozen. @LST you're up to find a car.

Tomorrow we will have 2 separate practice lobbies. I will host the D1/D2 lobby and @Wolfsatz or any other volunteer will host the D3/D4 lobby. Please make sure you join the correct lobby based on your division

With practice being an "official" night of SNAIL, we need to have some backups in place going forward. There have been some weeks in the past where practice isnt even run at all. So lets make sure we have some plans in place to make it run smooth. If you would like to become an "Official Practice Lobby Host" send me a message and I will get you added to the PM.

Hosts will be in communication with each other to give driver counts as the night goes on. If the D1/D2 lobby has 10 drivers while the D3/D4 has 3 drivers, it doesn't make much sense to stay separated. So we would consolidate down to 1 lobby for the remainder of the night.

We've tried the 2 lobby thing in the recent past and I think the participation is high enough now to go back to it. See you guys tomorrow night. And remember to bring your clean SNAIL racecraft with you

Feedback on practice last night? I was in communication with @CANOWORMS1 who hosted the D3/D4 lobby most of the night, and both rooms had 10+ pretty much all night. Once we got to combo 3 we each had 8 so we merged to 1 room and we were right back to a full grid.

Still looking for volunteers to potentially host future practices. PM me

All races were pretty decent. There was a few potential snails that showed interest. I told Cano that we should ask non-snails to run the car we are running, but if they don't have it, they should still be allowed to race as long as they are not kamikazee... IMHO it helps with recruitment.

Also.. for consideration ... the great majority of pile ups occur on lap 1 curve 1, specially on reverse grid. How about establishing a no pass before turn 1? at least for practice.

Thanks for the help on Thursday @SAMHAIN85 And thanks @Wolfsatz for the advice regarding Thursday's practice and for helping talk to the numerous randoms. Thanks to the others who also communicated to new arrivals. There were a couple of drivers who showed interest.

Practice feedback:
  • I really liked the split lobbies. I might suggest that the two groups don't meld unless numbers drop below 5 or 6 in one or both. As a struggling div 4 driver I would vote for more equal level of competitors over number of competitors. My 2 cents. Having said that, I attended the majority of practices this past year, all one lobby nights.

  • Regarding corner 1 incidents, I see a number of things:
  1. This is practice. There are no points. It doesn't matter. Focus on following and setting up the pass. See, I know what I'm supposed to do. :):) As my mother told me, "Do as I say, not as I do."
  2. Race 2 at Panorama was a perfect storm: Short run to turn 1. Reverse grid start. All 4 divisions on the grid. 4th place misses the green light bunching up 6th - 12th. Meanwhile in turn 1, 2nd place is bunting 1st place off track and 3rd (me), I'm just driving off the outside to get out of the way. I didn't know it was going to be that crowded. All in all I counted 10 people who exceeded track limits before the exit to turn 1.
Let's hope the numbers will allow this format to continue.
Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down.
