Yes, there is. But, it also gets rid of the gauges, map, timer and everything else. To do so, access the on track options menu. While on track press START, choose OPTIONS and change 'Race Info Display' to from Display All to Off.

Thanks, but it was pointed out to me that I did not have the "show/remove ghosts" button mapped. Using that gets rid of the names AND the lines, which is even BETTER!

It basically does. Because I was really not that eager to tune the car as it understeered like crap
