I miss bacon, bread, cheese, heck... Most everything.

I went out for my anniversary dinner some time back. Got woozy as we left, and woke up in the hospital.

Short version... I had to cut my sodium to a tiny amount. Due to diet change, lost weight. Dropped 80 pounds in about 5 months. Learned to cook to put 20 pounds back on eventually.

But this bacon, bacon, bacon.... It hurts. A...Love... For bacon... Is a love lost that ... cannot be regained... The anguish is painful. My bacon... My poor, neglected.... Where is my bacon!!!.???

Some want to gain weight... some want to lose weight...

I want to do an even exchange. Fat weight for muscle weight. I'm working on getting toned and eventually a super-hero like body. Henry Cavill is my inspiration. I will be the Man of Steel.
 
Coincidentally, I've been pondering a SNAIL "Health and Fitness" thread ever since we got our own forum. I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but I have been on a personal journey of mind and body for a while now. Ever since I got moved to the main building of the company I work for (the building with the gym in it), I've been working out during lunch on the days I'm in the office.

At first, I mainly focused on cardio and interval training with some moderate strength training mixed in (TRX, kettlebells, etc). However, last November I started to focus more on strength training and diet (but still do plenty of cardio too). In that time, I've gained 20 lbs (intentionally - aka "bulking") as well as a lot of knowledge about health and fitness that I never knew (or even thought about) before.

Anyways, please speak up if any of you want to discuss/ask about things like workout routines/ideas, eating healthy/clean, fitness goals, etc. I understand that this may be a little too off-topic to have enough interest for a dedicated thread, but it's not entirely unrelated to racing. After all, professional drivers are athletes, so health and fitness should be on the minds of every aspiring race car driver (amateur or professional). If you want proof, just watch any season of GT Academy. :)

If you're referring to me posting about my racing too much, my apologies. I'm just a little (a lot) excited about it, and subsequently figured I'd share my endeavors with the rest of SNAIL, just like a few others do. Yeah, I might go a little overboard sometimes with the posting, but you can totally ignore what I say and not pay any attention to my antics. Ain't the first time a question has been raised by you as to what I do in the real world.

It really applies to the Sanctioned SNAIL races!
Though it is becoming the norm. and I must agree, not a bad thing, what I'm bothered by is that now it seems that all rooms that are opened for practice, have voice disabled, that fine in a full room but lets say everyone has gone and you are trying to help a struggling driver with potential improve?
YOU CAN"T!

Bottom line is this, keep all Communications available to ALL because after 75% leave the room and about 4% of the fast guy's stick around to mentor guy's that are having difficulties, and learn from the faster guy's that stuck around to mentor but they CAN'T, because the room is voice disabled.

Your not as important as you think you want to be!

You could always just open another room. Anyways if it's not your room you shouldn't want to host a used room usually starts to lag out at about the 3 or 4th host, even if they were host for just a second

Just start another room if you want to help others. Let's face it, unnecessary communication happens WAY too often during races, and you are an offender of that, you know it. Voice is disabled by default when rooms are created as well, so some people just miss that setting, deal with it.


I also just noticed that we have zero pics of the Jag for the banners. I am moving this weekend, and I doubt I will have the chance to do the banners before Monday.

Everybody always wants to lose weight... Well I've gotta gain it! 40 pounds underweight in my race car... No room to put ballast weight in these things either...

I have to lose it so I can be in a different weight class to fight.

Edit: just to clarify, I'm a competitive tkd fighter. Staying at my current weight (180lbs) would put me at a huge disadvantage being that I will be bigger guys, so dropping down to 165ish (lightweight) would be beneficial.

Relax. The only thing I questioned was something that I owned up to being uninformed on immediately afterwards so I'd hardly take that as a sign of confrontation and the same should also go for this.

This is the default setting for the TT room. If someone makes a room just to practice and complete a TT and every one else joins, there is no way to change it. I thought everyone logged off last night, so I made a room to do the time trial. I did not expect anyone to join the room wanting to race or chat so I didn't bother with be settings. It has nothing to do with feeling important and I offered to make a room with chat settings as soon as others joined.
 
Good luck Bayou, if the open is soon, that may be to much to loose and still be health. However, if your norm body weight is 180, you will surely have a big advantage in the lower weight class. Sometimes I wish I wouldhave stuck with MMA after the Army. Though, walking would probably be an effort now.

Wow, that's awesome! I guess that explains your username. Maybe you should be the one that start a health and fitness thread. If not, I'll definitely be PM'ing you some questions if you don't mind.

Also, I've checked out the GLAC website. I agree with @aerolite - it looks great! I'm pretty familiar with some of those classes on your schedule too and would jump in there if I ever had a chance. :)
