Here’s my official rig setup!

Wheel: Logitech G Pro Direct Drive
Pedals: Load Cells
Shifter: Driving Force Shifter With Racing Adapter & HandbrakeView attachment 1461489

So the Racing Adpater allows you to use their Pro DD wheel with G29 pedals, and adjust brake pressure on the fly. Intetesting. Might look into that, considering I have a G920, a G29, and shifter. Just need a new seat and stand.

I've come to the conclusion that I am going to have to change to a sim rig that reclines if I want to continue racing. My sciatica flares up too much with my current set up. Anyone have any dealings with Trak Racer? Specifically, this rig?

In 2020, during the height of COVID I bought Trak Racers TR8 rig. It's very rigid, with no flex and I tend to yard on my wheel quite a bit. The pedal plate is solid with my load cell turned up to Hi, which I think might be approaching 100 lbs of pedal pressure. It is a much more GT style upright sitting position. I've had to modify things so it would fit me, I'm 5'6" (so much for metric Canada :D) and I was using the 55" TV in our family room until I got the VR2 headset a year ago. I'm very pleased with the build quality and the looks of the rig. Being in Canada, buying American at that time had its challenges, but none of it related to the rig itself. All good.

Thanks for the feedback Cano. I ended up ordering a Playseat Formula Instinct because of the price point. The downside to the Playseat is it doesn't have a native gear shift mount, but I'm pretty handy and creative, so I'm sure I can make one.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Pagani Zonda R '09 (RH) at Daytona International Speedway - Road Course - S13 Sunrise (9 laps)
Therefore, the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. @Worst_Driver wins Prize A, and gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) '01 (SH) at Watkins Glen International Short Course - S01 Sunset (12 laps)
This means either the car or track will be replaced for next week's line-up. @CANOWORMS1 is the Prize B winner and they have the option to freeze the car or the track, or they can give that option to the Prize C winner. If they give the freeze away, they get to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Oshawa-Joe - they get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it's confirmed you don't have any penalties.
  • It is recommended you visit SNAIL combo history, along with other data on our car and track history, to review how many times we've raced each car and/or track.
  • Please remember, originality is always appreciated. Although not required, picking cars and tracks we've never raced is a plus.
  • What's more important is, you thoroughly test any combo you are considering, before making it your official selection.
    • For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter, either hard1 or soft2, at any point during a race, even in the draft.

IMPORTANT:
  • When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting.
    • For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98".
    • If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza".
    • Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers.
  • Please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select.
  • For track selections, include the Preset Weather and the Time of the Day (e.g.: S01 Afternoon) or it will be set to default.
    • Available settings can be found under Time/Weather Settings, when creating an online Lobby, after selecting your track.

Car Selection Guidelines
See Section 3 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines.

Track Selection Guidelines
See Section 3.1 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines
.

1Hitting the "hard" limit causes the RPMs to "bounce" and reduces torque and speed.
2Hitting the "soft" limit ceases all acceleration potential. Meaning, you're not going to go any faster.

Prize A: I'm open to suggestions from everyone until tomorrow, Wednesday @ noon.
Unfortunately, there's a fair chance I won't be able to race this sunday, so here goes prize A. Wild combos and originality are encouraged, most notably regular traffic cars ;) Suggest away !

I think i might go with a Playseat Challenge X, myself. I like the fact that it can fold away when im not using it since im limited on space in my living room. I see Playseat and some other Etsy sellers have a gearshift mount, but might see if someone has 3D print files for it and make one myself.

We are taking the Corvette to Daytona Tri-Oval. S01 Midnight MDLT of 51.5 for a 19 lap race.

If you happen to use one of the Nascar liveries from Showcase, be aware they usually have all the aero parts that will need to be removed.

Prize A: Citroen BX 19 TRS '87 CS Tires @ Eiger Nordwand Reverse. S05 Early Morning.
Mid div lap time: 1:26
Back up car: DS Automobiles DS 3 Racing '11 CS Tires
Mid div lap time back up: 1:20.

@TexHill I took inspiration from your suggestion, I hope you won't mind the changes. Thanks for submitting !

The old Citroen is faster than I expected for a 103 hp car. It's a feather weight at 2194 lbs and handles pretty good for a regular traffic car. VR users will appreciate the great visibility from the cockpit view.

Fun fact: The Citroen DS and the weird sub brand DS Automobiles in GT7 refers to the french word ''Déesse'' which translates to Goddess in english.

What tires did you use? CS?

Jumping in here as I've just purchased this: https://6sigmasimracing.com/en-ca/c...-80-sim-racing-cockpit?variant=47692227084534 with the GTR bucket seat. Like you, my back aches like crazy if I'm not in a reclined position. Unfortunately because of this, I'm returning the seat tomorrow and will be looking at their reclining RS seat once I get the other refunded. The rig itself is really sturdy and I'm really happy with it. Just need to find a seat that works. Six Sigma seems to be the best deal for the dollar on these types of rigs I can find.
