Sorry for the late bail tonight. And thanks @JamCar0ne for covering scores, data and votes. My brother arrived at our family cabin in Manitoba and the main breaker switch wouldn't stay in the on position. It wouldn't trip, it just wouldn't get in the on position. He did have a land line and was able to call me and I was his conduit to the internet. If the breaker is held in the on position he has power. He was able to jury rig it so it's held on. It involved needle nose pliers and duct tape.

I won't bail on racing late next time, in fact I will be at said cabin until August. Have fun all, I know I will.:)

Division 1
  1. PReC_ErickGTSan --- voted to eliminate Round 2 - 95 (117.50 for Prize A)
  2. Ridger23 ---------- voted to eliminate Round 2 - 84 (103.89 for Prize C)
  3. Nic-KL ------------ voted to eliminate Round 3
  4. vovik05 ----------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  5. superb3113 -------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  6. Kgffty ------------ voted to eliminate Round 1
  7. Dragonwhisky ------ voted to eliminate Round 2
  8. arethosetacos ----- voted to eliminate Round 1
Division 2
  1. JamCar0ne --------- voted to eliminate Round 3 - 95 (72.50 for Prize B)
  2. RacingChamp30 ----- voted to eliminate Round 2
  3. radliffpower ------ voted to eliminate Round 2
  4. Tex_Hill ---------- voted to eliminate Round 1
  5. zoomzoomMf -------- voted to eliminate Round 2
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 (SH) at Tsukuba Circuit - S01 Evening (14 laps)
Therefore, the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. @ErickGaToRR wins Prize A, and gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Citroen BX 19 TRS '87 (CS) at Eiger Nordwand Full Course Reverse - S05 Early Morning (11 laps)
This means either the car or track will be replaced for next week's line-up. @JamCar0ne is the Prize B winner and they have the option to freeze the car or the track, or they can give that option to the Prize C winner. If they give the freeze away, they get to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @bublyman - they get whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it's confirmed you don't have any penalties.
  • It is recommended you visit SNAIL combo history, along with other data on our car and track history, to review how many times we've raced each car and/or track.
  • Please remember, originality is always appreciated. Although not required, picking cars and tracks we've never raced is a plus.
  • What's more important is, you thoroughly test any combo you are considering, before making it your official selection.
    • For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter, either hard1 or soft2, at any point during a race, even in the draft.

IMPORTANT:
  • When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting.
    • For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98".
    • If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza".
    • Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers.
  • Please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select.
  • For track selections, include the Preset Weather and the Time of the Day (e.g.: S01 Afternoon) or it will be set to default.
    • Available settings can be found under Time/Weather Settings, when creating an online Lobby, after selecting your track.

Car Selection Guidelines
See Section 3 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines.

Track Selection Guidelines
See Section 3.1 of the SNAIL OLR, Policies and Guidelines
.

1Hitting the "hard" limit causes the RPMs to "bounce" and reduces torque and speed.
2Hitting the "soft" limit ceases all acceleration potential. Meaning, you're not going to go any faster.

Prize C:

We're taking the Citroën (or the DS Automobile) on the fabulous Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit.

If it's the Citroën BX then MDLT is 1:56.500.
If it's the DS 3 (back-up car) then MDLT is 1:49.500.

Brands Hatch is perfect for these FF road cars, narrow track surrounded by grass and wide exit turns.

JULY 2025 STANDINGS - WEEK #1
1752255993589.png

A little bit of a drop off in terms of numbers for Week #1 of the July 2025 season. We had 8 drivers in D1 and only 5 drivers in D2. Hopefully we bounce back as a group for Week #2.

My Car-Show picture takes me to London, England. On July 13th, 1985, a massive two-venue benefit concert was organized by Bob Geldof to raise funds for the relief of famine in Ethiopia. Wembley Stadium in London welcomed 72,000 concert goers while a further 89,484 packed JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.

I should be there Sunday but if yesterday's practice is any indication, I still have lots of work to do.

Finally, Happy birthday @CdnSweetTee.

Edit: I meant to welcome @ZoomZoomMf to Snail.

I know this is set in stone, but I was wondering if I can switch the time of day from sunrise to sunset? If we can’t it’s alright. On the NSX combo at Autopolis.

Hey Snails, my endurance team is competing in a 24hr event at Le Mans this weekend. 12 teams from all across the globe with over 100 drivers taking part. Each stint is 2 hours long and the driver changeovers are quite clever and seemless :D.

Tune in here and wish us luck:

And please (if you're interested) give my team's Youtube a like and subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/@Sector_Seven_Racing We will have some streams hosted there for different views of the event.

We appreciate it 😁

How are y'all handling the change overs?

Another lobby is set up. Drivers in the new lobby do an 'out lap' and head to the pits at the end of the lap without changing tyres or setting fuel - essentially just sitting there. This way, when the guys from the old lobby enter the pits on the second to last lap, the time between cars can be recorded and the cars in the new lobby can be released accordingly to the time difference between them in the old lobby. This is monitored by stewards and coordinated within teams by team members via discord. When my team mate in the old lobby enters the pits, they tell me "Go go go" when their car comes to a standstill in the pits. This way the IRO can keep stacking lobby after lobby. Each stint is set for two hours in length.

Hey guys I’m very new to snail, I can’t race tomorrow because of family events. Will I be moved to the inactive list for one night? I’m also not sure about next week

Status;
  • F = Full time = 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 2 of 3, 3 of 3, 3 of 4, or 4 of 4 of available nights.
  • P = Part time = 1 of 2, 1 of 3, 1 of 4, or 2 of 4 of available nights.
  • All drivers are listed in order of priority. This only applies if a room should fill beyond capacity on race night or if there are connection issues that need to be settled by having a driver leave the room.
  • Inactive = DNR two full seasons or their first partial season and one full season.
