I was looking for the 'dogfight' aspect to a game, and Aces of Thunder has that, whereas I believe Flight Simulator doesn't. I'm hoping to go to Point Roberts tomorrow to pick up the Thurstmaster joystick. A couple of Snails already have the game @radliffracing @Gurney67 , and one other that I've forgotten, do you have any suggestions about the game? My biggest complaint is the use of the VR2 controllers, using the little joysticks is difficult, grabbing the virtual joystick is problematic, and mapping buttons makes them touch sensitive which means I'm constantly activating them when I don't want to. Other than that it's a great time...or it will be when I learn how to fly and shoot.![]()
I’m a beginner also and haven’t had much time to do ANY sim related activities. I will say I’ve learned there’s a whole world of strategy involved in aerial dog fighting. I’ve watched about 90 minutes of you tube videos related to War Thunder ( predecessor to Aces of Thunder ) in the past. Kinetic Energy, plane-specific strengths and weaknesses, attack and defense techniques… I have a lot of respect to the people that did ( or do ) this in real life.
I hope everyone is doing well, I miss racing with y’all. Life is too busy ATM but sooner or later I’ll be back!
