It was an awesome track back then but the new version is much shorter and less than awesome. Still any new real track is welcome.

Maybe they would give us the older track? Wishful thinking...

In fairness, it's probably more legit than my situation where I accumulated 81 points despite coming last in 5 out of the 6 races! :O

Just want to chime in about last week's combos. Lots of fun!

I enjoyed a challenging standing start at Daytona. It makes things interesting when you aren't guaranteed your qualifying spot leading into turn 1. There were a few different lines through turns but they all seemed to even out midway down the straights. Late braking was very risky and playing it safe didn't necessarily mean you'd be passed by someone on the straight.

Cape Ring was tricky. I had trouble figuring out the fast way around the ring but I managed to hold my position every lap. The first jump removes a passing opportunity which sucks but its the second jump before the left/right kink you need to worry about...in fact, if you do jump it, it means you're about to crash! I found a pace I could run the entire race but others pushed it a little too much. I wasn't able to challenge anyone but I at least moved up a few positions when others made mistakes.

Monza was a white knuckle experience. I probably should have tinkered with the brake balance because I kept kicking out the rear on turn 4. I locked them up by accident going into turn 1 once but luckily avoided an incident. After that I just played it safe but it was still very intense trying to stay on someone's bumper! Not sure which Monza track I like the most. They both have their challenges.

I concur! You did an awesome job driving defensively at Cape Ring. I couldn't find a way around you in the first race, so I dropped back and hoped you'd make a mistake. You never did though!

Yeah, I ran into that on race 2. JWalker and Kgffy were battling it out in front of me but I couldn't get in on the action. Meanwhile Qwietstorm was about a car length back the whole time so I didn't want to give him any track to work with. Sweaty palms after those races for sure!

@singlepaddy - Just to clarify, you want @euclid58 to use the freeze?
@euclid58 - If the above statement is correct, you need to freeze the car or track.

I know some may be weary of Daytona by now, but it can be good with the right car.
IMHO the track is better than the car, therefore I'll freeze Daytona.

I was hoping someone would pick something that I could put a number on. I will be changing up my color and number for this one week to pay tribute to one of the best pure hitters in the history of baseball.

Tony Gwynn passed away yesterday and will be greatly missed by the baseball community, the San Diego Padres, San Diego State University, and any person who ever came in contact with the man.

I will be running a brown car with orange wheels and it will wear the number 19 just for this combination.

If you don't know anything about Gwynn, take a minute and do a google search and read a couple of articles.

And that's exactly the reason why you run with your windows down when you race, track day, autocross, etc. :)

Seriously though, that was a crazy amount of contact. Unless that is a bumper car league, I would be shocked if those 4 were allowed to race again without some severe restitution.
