I wish I hadn't missed the races this past weekend. I have been very busy with work lately. I plan to get on later if anyone is interested in running a few practices/shuffle races.
 
GTAcademy chooses Apricot... Damn @Whitey093, I learned pretty much all I know about this track from you.. how the hell am I gonna get in front of you this round :crazy: :lol:
-I'll be happy if I can break into 1:36 .. I can't keep it on the track half the time ..and there will probably be a YouTube video of me tearing apart cones at the next construction site i drive by ... Damn things

What car is at Apricot for this round?
 
I've found that the tone of my entire lap depends on how deep and hard I can dive into turn 1 and stay on track. After that it's easy. If turn 1 went well, you have to keep your exit speed high out of turns with late apex approaches. The hairpin is taken best by coming in high and threshold braking then straightening out the exit with a very late apex (learned courtesy of watching stigs son's replays). You can do it!

Doodle and the top top guys are handbraking into the turns which I cant do so their replays don't help me much. I cant figure out how they do that and keep momentum. If I slide a little bit in one turn I lose a second. Crazy

For those unfamiliar with the best movie ever (my personal favoite of all time), starring the legendary Jackie Gleason, "Smokey and the Bandit", the Bandit (Burt Reynolds) drive a '78 Trans Am. That is the car USERID is referring to.
 
There's some young'ens here. I've met many in their 20's who've never heard of the movie let alone seen it. I saw it in the theater when it came out....as well as "Star Wars" & "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". If anyone here hasn't seen any of these, I highly recommend all three.
 
Im mid thirties.I heard of the movie, know of the movie and actors and such but have never watched it. But I did think that Smokey was Burt and bandit was the car... Whoops haha:lol:
Time to actually sit and watch the whole thing


Side note,, is there a way to delete a post , I messed up as you can see in the next post . If I can, I'd like to delete it

No you can only edit :crazy: Which I've never seen Coach do. Even when he screws up he only strikes the text and adds his correction. I guess he treats it like a real life convo, very admirable I must say.

LOL. You make me laugh.

@USERID_77a23 Sheriff Buford T. Justice is AWESOME. The one liners are many as well as the humorous, inference laden dialogue. Snowman (Jerry Reed) is the Bandit's transporter. Bandit (Burt Reynolds) is the "blocker" or "front door". Dude the movie is genius. The intro for Buford T is an "attention getter". You'll love that "sombitch".
 
After watching the movie completely now I believe i should have picked a dirt track for it lol that trans sure did a lot of off roading hahaha
Then again ...plenty of place to do that at willow;)
