Here's something to consider:

The '03 Cobras tip the scales at almost 3800lbs.

While a C5 Coupe comes in at 3200 lbs.

If you were remotely interested in a turning contest, the C5 w/Z51 suspension has the Cobra beat easy. But since you're not...

Pulley'd, intake/headers/exhaust '03 Cobra will make ~450 rwhp. In order to equal that kind of rwhp/weight ratio in the Vette, you'd have to coax about 380 out of the LS1. Its not hard to do, but its more expensive. Ultimately, the C5 will have more go fast potential based purely on weight.

But I'd say go with the Cobra, even though I consider the C5 a superior car. You really can't argue with 450+ rwhp for a few grand worth of mods.

come on you guys, lets not bs this guy, its more like 3600lbs, the convertible is what weights around 3800. plus its got a lot more room inside, the rear seats are ok, ive been in the back.

Well the Z06 Vs the SVT cobra is just a battle of who wants to spend more......Because I personally think that at 35,000 the SVT is a HELL of alot better than the 52,000 z06....but if you put a SVT cobra up against a standard C5....the SVT beats it..

The C5 vette which has a 350HP LS1....weights in at 3246 pounds........which gives it a power/weight ratio of
~.107 HP per pound

The SVT cobra which has 390 RATED HP...which everyone knows is wrong..but for the sake of argument i'll use it...
and weights in at 3665 in coupe form

which gives it a power:weight ratio of
~.104HP per pound...
Now that's daaamn close.....but considering the under rated #'s And the practicality of the stang...(4 seats as apposed to 2)

Well, if you get the cobra, and want lots of power, you need only one part: A lightning pully (for the supercharger). It raises the boost and gives 575 hp! Not bad for just a pully 👍...

yea but thats the gt series where they get to modify their cars and stuff, and diff drivers, so certain drivers are gonna be better. stock for stock i think the z06 would edge out the nsx in most performance categories.

And not to mention that when the SPEED Channel (then called Speedvision) decided to telivise the SCCA World Challenge events, they changed the rules a little to allow for a better show. Giving cars this while other cars get that. This is why a $16,000 Mazdaspeed Protege can run with a $30,000 BMW 325i...

pully costs less than 100 bucks.....pully leads to 11 sec 1/4 times.....Man......Don't see many vettes doin 11 sec's with less than 100 bucks
