1.05 Race BGM Bug

I went in and unchecked every song that PD put on the game. I never have a problem with any background music, because everything is turned off except for what I want to listen to.
 
I have encountered no bugs whatsoever. Race music works fine. Menu Music works fine. I have a fat 80gb playstation if that helps...
The way i have it setup: GT5's options -> audio-> Personal BGM for race enabled, selected playlist (my own Racing playlist) ->shuffle on, repeat folder, choose a song (the game will always play this song first, but will play a random song afterward) Done. Enable personal menu music -> choose a playlist (called 'gt5 menu'), shuffle on, repeat folder. Done.

Thats it.
Menu music plays during the menu. Does not revert to GT5 music.
Race music plays during races. Does not revert to GT5 music (unless online).

I had this issue.

What i did was i clear my network cache out. Then go back and ensure that my own personal BGM is on for Menus and for races. Now it sticks and doesnt stop when i go from a race back to menus!
 
I also notice the problem but only on the menu BGM. I cleared the cache and also have every piece of GT5 music unchecked for everything. Mine works just fine without reverting back.

I feel really stupid asking this. I can´t for the life of me find the option to set the music on shuffle. Pre patch i had it on but now i cant find it... I don´t know why :) Can anyone point me to where to find this option?
 
So i figured out my problem and came back to describe it. Pretty simple really, yet I believe it works differently than before but I could be wrong about that. As in earlier post I could not enable personal music, the option had a redline going through it. I thought i tried everything, but it never crossed my mind to "select" PBGM if i could not "enable" it.
Apparently, selecting it, enabled it.
seems backwards no ? like the supercharger lags but the turbos do not, just backwards.
I then went and turned every GT5 song off, one by one <--seemed like 10 minutes. Then when I got back to the main menu 50 cent says "gimmie Don Perignon I dont need Chrys"

Shuffle on/repeat folder, 1 folder, 250 songs. So far so good, been a hour.
 
Okay so it seems like if I de-select all the GT5 songs then the game won't disable my BGM on it's own .. I'll try that next time I log on and let you all know.
 
The issue is when you go to an online lobby the music is fixed to something else. This completely screws up your personal BGM settings im afraid folks.

The game will switch back to it's own BGM after you restart a race it seems. Has happened all night, and I hate GT5's BGM so this is quite annoying, especially when there's some annoying techno blasting.

Anyone else notice this?

That seems to be one of the factors involved, but I wouldn't say it's the only one. Sometimes it'll reset to the default GT5 BGM if I quit a map and go back to the menus then load up another race.
 
I had a different problem with the custom BGM before the 1.5 update , There was no pause menu in A spec races and only the zoom button was working in B spec races.

It happend to me after a ylod fix and i got a building data message after i turned on the ps3 , I solved the problem after disabling the custom BGM , I guess my custom music was corrupted , I've never enabled custom bgm since then.
 
The problem I get is that the music will work, but it doesn't shuffle any more.
Always plays in order, which is bloody annoying. I know the first track will always be the first track, and before the latest patch, the shuffle would work but I'd have to turn it back to shuffle after a restart of the game. That was fine for me, but when shuffle is on, it should damn well shuffle my songs...
 
I've been having problems too.

I used to have it set to repeat a blank silent mp3 so there would be no music during the race, but would still get the music when you win a trophy.

Now when I start a race it's silent like it should be, but as soon as I restart the race I'm hearing the game's crappy soundtrack. I quit the race, go to options, and now race bgm is disabled. I select the blank track to repeat, enable race bgm again, go back to race, restart, and again the crappy game's soundtrack comes on.

It is insanely frustrating and I hope they fix it soon.

For me it keeps unchecking the box for user menu BGM and now i'm in the middle of the Dream Car Champs it once again forces me to listen to it's own crappy music. I would also appreciate if it didn't switch back to the crap whenever i go to GTAuto, Tuning, UCS etc...

Although i have put both race and menu playlists to shuffle in most races it just plays the songs in order from first to last:mad:
 
It's weird. I can only pick ONE song too. Only one song? wtf? I guess we can't make folders on the PS3 XMB (which you should be able to) but I wish there could be more than ONE song selected

Move to group (and the other option right below it), select repeat off or repeat folder, shuffle on then back out, if you picked the folder it will (should) play the folder using the first song in the folder first then randomizing. Its weird with no confirmation, just backout. Then be sure to enable after you select. If your music isnt in a folder, than make a folder before loading GT5. Ive had a few problems with music before and after patch, but they've all been sorted over time, pain the but its nice when it gets working.

I've done all that but it still sometimes just plays the songs in order, not always though. It gets annoying in the longer races.
 
The custom BGM also has an issue where if you ADD music to your PS3 after you enable custom BGM, It will cause conflicts when attempting to start your music.

Personally, when I'd start a B-spec race, After it said "START" and when it attempted to load my personal music, the only button on my controller that worked was the PS button. I couldnt issue commands, or quit he race. The race would finish, but it wouldnt ever recognize that it was done, the cars would slow down, but it woudlnt show the results or award XP / money.

In practice mode, When i'd pause the game, no pause menu would show, so i coudlnt leave practice mode unless I reset the game.

Through both of these issues, my personal music failed to play... this all happened after i added new music.... All i did to fix it was turn off custom BGM, then reenabled it...

Aparrantly the game builds a tracklist when you enable custom BGM, and if you alter that list without disabling then re-enabling, it causes input issues with the controller.

I've heard of people going into the used car dealership, and other area of the GT life area and the controller not working, so maybe they had the same issue with running custom BGM in menus.
 
I just don't know why PD has to be different.

Just enable in-game XMB music like every other damn PS3 exclusive and be done with it.

Let's hope this is fixed in 1.06.
 
Just wanted to update this saying that I haven't had this issue of my personal Race BGM reverting to the stock GT5 music since I have de-selected all the GT5 music tracks myself.

So that's good to know, but I don't get any of my music during replays .. anyone know why?
 
My game seems to freeze whenever I try to use custom tracks for either race or menu. The only way I can finish a race is by completely disabling all custom soundtracks.
 
Me as well.. For both Personal Menu BGM and Personal Race BGM.
Instead of it switching back to the default BGM tunes, the BGM just times out... Nothing at all. And I'm running a PS3 Slim, not modded, jail broken, no duped save games, cars, or paint chips.. No corrupt data or songs stored on my PS3, as everything is clean as a whistle.

Anyone else notice the lack of true RANDOM/SHUFFLE function, when you actually have the Shuffle option ticked ON....? I notice several songs being repeated, in amongst a 50+ song playlist, that i have selected (i think it's selected...?? Lol, again, due to the lack of actual sound/audio menu functionality!!!).

Lame. Please hurry up with another damn update PD :/

I know y'all were rushed, but c'mon... Ya'll are Asian!!!? We're supposed to actually be GOOD with this sort of stuff!? Hahahaha... I know of kids with better coding on their Myspace profiles!!! :lol:
