1.07 Constantly crashing

Since doing the update yesterday I can't get into any races, it hangs on my way through the menus. Anyone else having this problem? It hadn't crashed at all before the update.

Oh, don't be impolite. The way i figure it, it just your internet connection that slows you down, turn it off. And you will be just fine.
 
Mine has been crashing a lot more since the V1.06 update. Especially when using the remote race function, it locks up entirely and doesn't allow me to do anything . I have to press the PS button and quit the game. Strangely just before it quits, the screen goes black and I hear the noise of the cursor moving.
 
It's been freezing a lot for me as well since the 1.07 update. It's never crashed before that.

In the Seasonal Events, in the FF Eifel race it's freezing at the same corner every time (about the 6th corner, around 20 seconds into the race).

I'll try some other races and see how it goes. I hope it's not my PS3 with the issue.

EDIT: Actually it's worse than I thought. In any race I start, it freezes in about 20 seconds. I'm gonna try deleting the game and re-installing (after backing up my save first).

EDIT2: Deleted and reinstalled GT5, then copied over my backed up save file. Still freezing at the same points :(

I think I've fixed it. In the music options I've always had 'use "User BGM (Race)"' - I turned it off and it hasn't frozen yet. Maybe there's an issue with custom music and 1.07 update?

So if you have chosen custom music maybe go back to GT5's music.

I've experienced this problem since v 1.06 as well (except for the cursor moving, screen goes black part). It has locked up solid on me and never happened before the update to v 1.06. I too must press the PS button, quit, then re-start the game. I hope this gets fixed soon. It doesn't appear to be the console because other games and playing DVD's/Blu-Ray discs work just fine. I don't use BGM at all.
 
It's recommended to Rebuild Database every other month, just like you defrag a computer.

I don't crash all the time, but my God, it's a CONSOLE GAME! It should NEVER crash.

Technically, the PS3 is just a PC with more restrictions. Only the wii can be classed as a "Console" IMO.

i've only had it hang a couple times and its not been due to internet connection cos if i'm just going through a-spec/b-spec races i dont connect to psn because i still get it hanging between screens if i connect.
