1.08 unspecified error during installation?

It's the same exact situation as the "1.07 installation refuses to progress" thread. Does anyone know what's causing this? I tried EVERYTHING in that thread to no avail. My Call of Duty is updating for so it's not a hdd issue. I'm so annoyed and beyond stumped.
 
Nobody else having an issue with this at all? I screwed with it until I fell asleep on the coucjh last night. Tried EVERYTHING.
 
I got it! I had to wipe the game from the system. All game data files were deleted. All save data was moved to a USB stick. Then I re-did the restore file system and re-did the rebuild database. Then I took the disc out and cleaned it again with a microfiber cloth. THEN I did a re-install and it worked flawlessly! I REALLY hope I never have that issue again! All the other updates have been butter up until this one.
