They added the XJR9 Race car to the dream car championship, this car is only 5 second behind me when I finish and with a 1400bhp X2010, the XJR9 beats it.

They also slowed down the cars more when they touch or ride the barriers...

Am I right about this? Have any of you tried rubber banding today?

So I was trying to do my favorite trick to earn quick $$$$ today and noticed that since the update two things have changed with regard to A-Autogrind (also called rubber banding). The first is that my X2010 will not hit the same speeds and there for the lap times are almost 2 seconds slower (Yes I have done a rebuild and an oil change-not stupid). The second is that with the "Enhanced" AI they draft each other and me keeping up with the X2010 so that I dont always get 1st (just had a 12th place finish). WTF @#@$%( :grumpy::yuck::crazy:👎 WHY???? Why destroy the one way to easily make money without "breaking out" of the track.

Anyone else having this issue?

just turn the rubber band a bit less to the right, it will be more unstable, but also faster
im having the same problem

I feel like someone mentioned that somewhere. No idea if any of this is true or not as I haven't tried it.

But it does appear you aren't the only one who's noticed.

Yeah I refreshed the race a few times and the XJR9 appeared every time... it seems like its been placed there on purpose.

The car slows down to about 160mph when it hits the barriers, normally its around 190-200 at least.

What i noticed is: AI are faster (but not much) but the X1's speed got lowered - (Daytona) will hit 250+MPH on straights but will go down to 150's on corners - (was 170mph before the update). AI will be there with you on corners and even if you set the slightest to the right at start. 46/47 seconds now each lap was 43/44 secs before. Oh well... still 2nd or 3rd is not bad - just keep saving the 20mill on stick. But the new update has more to offer... goodluck to new discoveries.

I'm getting first every time... turn off ASM and make sure your car has above 1500bhp, any less and the XJR9 will beat it.

This has been reported in the main 1.10 thread, but it probably deserves its own. Am merging threads as I see them. Sorry for the inconvenience.

1st? I am lucky if I get 5th or 6th. I am at 1518hp (I have over 70,000 miles on my X2010) and still loose. It does seem to hit the barrier harder at the start of the corners but also does not have the same speed down the straight. I wonder if they did all of this on purpose? Lap times were about 42.5-42.7 before update. Now getting 44-45 seconds.

I am going to try it with my other Redbull that is fresh (less than 100miles) and see what happens.

Haha just realised the XJR9 is in dream car. I was trying in "Like the Wind". It will only make about 2/3 the $ per hour but dream car will have to do. There the X2010 is crushing everything. I turned everything off except TC which is at 3 and Zero'd the toe front and rear, and am running with sport hard tires but winning by about 10-13 seconds after 10 laps.

I am so glad to read that I am not alone in experiencing this problem. I realized this yesterday after the 1.10 update. I have tried all of the following without success:

- adjusted transmission settings.
- attempted drive ratio variations.
- experimented with various settings: ASM, skid recovery, steering assist, traction control, ABS, etc.
- experimented with other X1's including: Carbon Prototype and S.Vettel with varying mileages.
- attempted on both Indy events: "Dream Car Championship", "American Championship" and "Like the Wind".
- adjusted "rubber-band" position and tension.
- experimented with various combinations of AI competition vehicles.

Speculations post 1.10 update:

- track barrier details edited.
- transmission settings edited with the top speed accuracy updated.
- AI competition difficulty increased.
- CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THE GEAR RATIOS? FINAL DRIVE? TOP SPEED? ANY CHANGES POST UPDATE?

Nonetheless, it certainly appears as though PDI is continuing to focus on trivial matters. PDI chooses to expend time on maintaining control over all aspects of credit, XP and vehicle acquisition, rather than on aspects which will continue to improve other aspects of playability and drive longevity and continued game popularity. Seriously, who asked for helmets and suits? I believe the large majority of loyal GT5 players who continue to dedicate playtime more than 6 months after release seek DLC in the form of more vehicles, events, circuits and graphical improvements of standard vehicles.

If I may be candid and honest, Kaz and PDI appear more and more like power hungry tyrants with each manipulative and authoritative update. One thing is for certain, the dust is beginning to collect heavily on GT5 and is coming closer and closer to "shelf status" for many, if not already.

There's been an XJR9 in the Dream Car Championship for ages. Probably since the game came out. I've raced against it loads of times. (Not rubber banding)

As this guy states the XJR9 HAS allways been in this event.

Yes, the XJR9 was before, i know, my Bob was making some money for me with X1 in Dream Car, Bob make the championship like 5 times and at least 2 the Jaguar appear, pretty sure.

edit: all this before 1.10

Yeah. I tried LTW without luck, but DCC still works for me, but now winning by a few seconds only. The car now slows down a lot rubbing against the wall and losses 2-3 secs per lap wrt v1.09

Are pd trying to make the x1 a slightly improved f1 car by reducing its speed?

only reason I ask is I was only 5 or so seconds behind one on tokyo and thats never happened before the latest patch

Yeah i can't get consistant win on LTW either. set the car to go fast enough and it crashes sooner or later.

If you're just farming tickets, might be better off just rubbing the wall harder so as to avoid crashing on a long grind. *Remember you don't need to win to count towards a ticket*

So...takes about 1/2 -1hr longer to generate a ticket.
About twice as long to accumulate teh money.

The only real downside that i can see is... your ''# of wins'' stat in profile won't go up! Damn! i was hoping to hit 20K by the weekend!

If anyone comes up with a ''winning'' set-up, please post!

this Jaguar has always been in dreamcar

I dont know why ANY of you are having trouble with the "Dream Car" race coming in first in A-Spec grind. With a 70,000 mile X2010 with 1418hp I am winning 1st by 10-12 seconds EVERY TIME. Setup is AERO 50/50, Trans to 300mph, Toe set to 0.00/0.00... Top speed at end of a clear (no cars in front of me) straight is 256mhp and clear lap times are about 44.5-44.7 seconds. Yes its 10 laps not 5 and yes its only $86,600 as apposed to $70,000 for twice the laps, but it sure as heck beats grinding for 18+ hours to make $20 million. I will take the pidley $15million while I sleep and go to work over actually driving it all ANY DAY.

Sounds pretty simple..switch to the DCC...takes more time but still works. But I sure am glad I've got just about every car I'll ever need already...lol.

All sounds like your missing some thing here . If you wish to rubber band for your Cr's , why not break out ??? Save yourself the hassell and max your Cr limit super quick . Don't get me wrong I know this method is frowned upon .. But in some of these lobbys it can be a laugh and most of the guys have rules and tuning set ups for maximum lap times . I've made some great online friends doing this and also bought every car I need . If anyone wishes to do this and is a bit nervous of the fact that you haven't done it before don't be, most lobbys are very helpfull and enjoy assisting others on the road to stardom ;)

Guys, the damage model was increased in 1.10, which slows the X2010 down too much when rubberbanding. Look at the right side after a few laps--its covered in black, simulating damage and slowing it. Even with the finest amount of right turn on the stick, it accumulates damage to slow it too much. On dream car by lap 5 it's only 140-150 mph in turns, and it gets passed by everything. And if course a minimal turn to the right risks a spin and running into the inside wall and being stuck there for hours.

I only did the rubberband a few times and now it's kinda not worth it. Go earn $ in the seasonals!

sad...auto grind was the reason I got to A-spec lvl 40 so fast and racked up 200k km and over 2500 wins on my profile with 20% of the game still incomplete.

Good thing I got 90% of all GT5 cars with all that money..guess I have to rely the rest on the bank of bob.

This also means I get to retire my old keyboard that's had the enter button down taped down for a month or two.

I'm not trying to offend someone, but why the h*** do u play this game with a rubberband? I dont get it, its about good racers, fun and finally having a game which u cant finish in a week. I started out with GT1, played every single one since then. Nowadays everyone plays 50 games at the same time, and nobody has the balls to play a game to the end without cheating. Go on like this, but this also shows that nowadays everything has to happen fast. Obviously u dont really like to play the game a lot like i do, so wheres the point of reaching lv 40, getting all cars if u dont even know how to set the car or how to hit a corner properly. Just let it be, the more u play the higher the lv gets, the money comes automatically...

Agreed . But this game is more than just racing, I know lots of people that only do seasonals and collect cars, paints ,tickets due to already completing Aspec as I have done along time ago. As for rubber banding I only do that in a 200 lap race under ground purely to keep flicking through my UCD and buy cars that can't be traded, tbh I don't get a kick from endurances and don't get the time ,B-spec yeah ok your argue that bob will earn your Cr's but that's not real racing either and it's boring. I can race untill my heart is content online with good competion against real people and banter, and at the same I can earn big Cr's in 20 minutes if I feel the need , buy what I want when I want . I might spend 3-4 nights in the week just trading and again that gives the satifaction I need from GT5, and as for your caculation of people obviously not liking to play the game ...... WRONG . I play it how I see fit , I've done all legit stuff and earned my levels . :dunce: ;)

the reason is that pdi has made cars 20 million dollars... erm, credits and made the races give us a max of about 14k/lap maximum. thats 1429 laps to get from a few hundred to maximum cash. plus, i like the buying and tuning cars better than the actual racing :dopey:

Before the update I would let him run overnight and would wake up in the morning with lots of an extra 4-5 million credits and about a million experience. Now he can't even go 5 races without spinning out, kinda wishing I hadn't updated...

It would'nt hurt to read all the posts, you wont find the XJR-9 in like the wind as we are all talking about the Dream championship.
