PD implemented this to stop wallriding and other behaviour that doesn't belong in a game that calls itself a simulator. That it also fixes an exploit is just a bonus for them IMO. ;)

For the guys having trouble with crashes...

Just set your aero at max and grind the wall a little harder. I'm now aiming for ~215-222 MPH at the end of the straight. this puts you in 11th place after the second turn, and you finish in 11th too. Ride the whole race in 11th place which is a clear zone. (NO contact with other cars or crashes.)

Payout is 33K and races still count towards tickets. not bad earnings when you're doing other things in life anyway.

How about it Kaz? Gonna waste time trying to patch this out too? Suck it baby.

Before the update I would let him run overnight and would wake up in the morning with lots of an extra 4-5 million credits and about a million experience. Now he can't even go 5 races without spinning out, kinda wishing I hadn't updated...

yeah, that happens a lot with the x1 getting stuck behind the escudo, then getting spun by the v12 lmr. only 4-5 mil? i always got about a mil an hour, so about 10 mil for me :)

Maybe it was more. I sure miss those days of a maxed out bank account.

Well, if anybody out there has a racing wheel I'll let you know that you can auto grind using it. All you have to to is get something to hold the gas pedal down, take out the force feedback power cable from the wheel, and get a usb keyboard with the enter key jammed down. All you have to do is tweak the wheel until it's very slightly to the right and do some test runs to make sure that your car wont crash. Since the FFB cable isn't inserted, it wont jerk around when you're racing. It works for me using my DFGT. I don't know if it'll work with other wheels, but it should. Do it on the DCC with the X1 and make some money!

An progress in this or are we stuck with the lower paying Dream Car race?
Maybe 1.11 will help us this time... :indiff:

Hi, The Red Bull X1 will smoke any car in the game, total overkill in A-Spec Dreamcar. Stock, you can get 310 MPH with draft at Indy (but I do use a wheel).

yeah I was unaware people rubber-banded gone with the wind.

ive been a spec grinding dream car indy damn near 2 weeks now, and im lvl 39. make about 5mill a night give or take. as long as you got SRF on and tcs to 1, he shouldnt spin out, and should always place 1st.

i set my transmission to 255, seems to hit redline in 7th right as he turns in, its perfect.

if you want money, grind the ferrari seasonal, sarthe. its stupid money

Thanks for that, I'll have to try it with my Driving Force GT wheel and see if it works although I do like racing "for real". Maybe I'll use my beaten up Formula GT instead of my Red Bull X1 though.

theres no way an f1 is gunna be able to keep up

keep in mind you are riding the wall the entire race

the reason the x1 works is because it has 1500 hp. f1 just aint gunna cut it

dont worry, you get like 3 throughout the course of the game, wont hurt to have 1 dedicated to grinding

(ive been grinding my x1 for 2 weeks now and it still has 1470 hp, still winning, no rebuilds yet)

Why wouldn't you just borrow an X1 from a friend that way you don't need to use yours for the grinding

like i said i have 3 of them, 1 i keep always set up for grinding, with different downforce / transmission settings. wont be arsed to borrow / setup 1 every day

Let me know how it works after the new patch.

Edit: About 7 hours of this overnight and I made about 3 million. It seems like the wall makes it even slower now.

An update for patch 1.11/1.12:
This still works, the car will get eaten alive in Like the Wind but still dominates in the Dream Car Championship. I have been doing this overnight and making about 5 million in a 7 hour period. I perfected this by:

1. The steering has to be perfect, enough to keep it on the wall, but not too much or it will run too slow.
2. You should drop to 160 mph in the corner and hit about 250 mph in the straight.
3. The XJR-9 can't be in the race and if it is needs to start in the back.
4. I kept the transmission settings at default, for some weird reason shortening the gears doesn't make the car accelerate any faster but I haven't played around a whole lot with them.

My X1 does laps of around 47.xxx and wins evertime, again steering is key here and not having it set correctly will result in running in last or crashing (which is far worse IMO). This is still a great way to earn easy money and get valuable 1000 tickets.

edit: forgot to mention:
5. Too much downforce causes the car to run VERY slow in the corners, keeping it at default lets the X1 run at optimal speed.

edit 2: reducing downforce to 50/50 results in the fastest speeds, about 160mph in the corners and about 260mph in the straights. Odd that reducing downforce causes less friction but who knows what PD did to stop us from auto grinding.

edit 3: With reduced downforce the X1 is able to run 44.xxx, just won the Like the Wind with this new speed!
77k per 5 laps > 86k with 10 laps.

Why are you grinding for 7 hours? I can make $1,000,000 in 7 minutes at Circuit de la Sarthe in the Italian seasonal for 2 laps.

Because he runs overnight and I have an extra 5 million in my account for doing nothing, and I enjoy cashing those 1000 tickets.

anyone knows a good auto-grind for xp? really dont care about credits...
any good one even after 1.12??
The dreamcar race at Indy gives good xp. Read my post a few ones up for details on how to work it.

Thanks, i´ll take a look at it!

Any idea of how much xp during a rubber band night?

And how you start another race? does it need to be a turbo controller?

I'm not sure, I'm already level 40 so it doesn't track it for me. I just know I make about 5 million. As for starting the race again I hook up my USB keyboard and put a magazine from my pistol on the enter key.

Shouldn't PD put the rubberbanding effect to high? So the AI would be competitive?
Wrong rubberbanding, we're talking about the practice of placing a rubberband on the control and creating an artificial Bob.
