Anyone else had problems? I've been away for about 2 weeks, PS3 switched off while I was on holiday. Logged in earlier, ran a PS3 system update followed by the GT5 update, and was greeted with the setup screen messages & a note to say that the 5 chrome line cars had been added to my garage.

Alarm bells ringing, after loading up GT Mode, I realise my garage is now totally devoid of cars and I'm back to L0 for everything. Rather frustrating given that I was L37/L40 & had about 900 cars in the garage.

So, firstly, has anyone any suggestions on what to do from here...

As I see it, I can take this two ways - either I play a great but (occassionally buggy) game all over again, or I can get very angry and throw my toys out of the pram.

I'm thinking for playing it again this time around, I'll see how far I can get without actually buying a car... (Although clocking up all the cars from the UCD again is going to be a major pain!)

I had the same problem 1046 cars, lvl 38 a-spec, lvl 40 b-spec. 1600+ paints, 300+ helmets, 200+ suits, 6 drivers at lvl 34 and above. also 16.5 million credits plus 4.5 million credits online. I decided that i had two choices play again or kick the crap out of the game lol. I now save everytime I play to a memory stick.

I think rebuilding the database of the PS3 may bring back your saved game. at least it's worth a try. I don't remember if I found out about this here or somewhere else, but it's been proven to at least speed up your PS3, and also to keep it in good condition if done every so often. Here's the link:

I'm not saying this will absolutely bring back your saved game, but it's worth a shot.

Yep it's corrupted and a back-up would've saved you.

And if you read the latest PS3 update t's & c's , it tells you that you should back up every game you play as the regular PSN updates can cause all your save game data to corrupt & Sony take no responsibility .

In fact , all the PS3 updates have had this clause in them for as long as I can remember .......

So the T&C's say this? I know this is off topic, but with some games, you can only back up if you have PSN+
