I just drove the 150 mile endurance, a Peugeot 905 made the whole race on only one pitstop... how is that possible? I had to make 3, or maybe i could have done it in 2 if i would go easy on the gas... but ONE single pitstop?

i had no chance of winning over that...

I think I have to say that's not really possible.

75 miles on sub 80 (somethings of fuel) litres or whatever. in a LM car

doesn't quite sound right to me

I had that too, it is possible to beat it, but its very hard. Its things like this that really annoy me, its evidence that there was a lack of testing in the making of this game.

I've had similar issues in other races. I am 8 races into the last series in the Professional races with on the of the black cars (the Nissan whatever-it-is). I placed first in all but one race so far, the Hong Kong track. The regular version of the car I was driving only pitted once while I HAD to pit twice. No matter how much I eased up on the tires, the AI version of the car I was driving just outran me and was easier on the tires. I ended up 3rd 9 seconds behind. Maybe I just suck on that track.

Anyway, other tracks I noticed similar things, but I was able to outrun them cleanly otherwise.

The AI is one of the poorest features of GT4, IMHO. Otherwise, it's still a great game. 👍

Huh? I had the Nissan R92CP against me there, and he pitted twice, which gave me the win basically in my Minolta Toyota. I pitted only once, I should have pitted twice, but I just had to win.:p But it's possible there to win on one pit stop, if even I can do that. And my tyres are red pretty soon.:p

I used the black R92CP and won against the 905LM over 5 laps. In b-spec, I just turned it to 4 and at 50 laps I turned it to 3. I had to do 3 stops (lap27, lap55, lap82) The 905 Pitted also 3 times. And the Sauber C-9 just behind the 905

I had this problem too. My answer was maximum attack especially on the first lap when the AI is damn slow due to the cold tires.... :sly:

With my 905 i made my first pit stop @ lap41. All i'd done to the car was to add a stage4 turbo and Super hard tyres. This was driving at 3 until lap 25 then 2 for the next 10 laps then 1 for the last 6 laps.

My next pit stop was at lap 83, but my tyres could hjave gone for longer... i was out of petrol becuase i didn't fill it to 80.... i stopped @ 71.

With a bit of work i'm sure the 905 could get more than 50laps without pitting

EDIT:
Tried again... Same settings as before, had to pit@lap 48 as the petrol run out. Am going to take the stage4 turbo off to see how that affects it..... be interesting to see if GT4 recognises that a smaller turbo (less flow and less boost) will use less fuel

EDIT:
Tried again... Took off the Stage4 turbo..... pitted @ lap 53. Ah, a nice 1 pit strategy    . Unfortunately i finished 3rd by 26seconds. Hopefully a Stage3 turbo should sort that out.

EDIT:
Tried again... Left the Stage4 turbo off.... turned up the pace to 3, pitted on lap 50. I won by about 25seconds.

Is the 150 miles an oval track? If that's so, I did like 4 pit stops (and there was a 905 driving against me), but what I can remember, I won with a whole lap or so...

Yeah, the Twin Ring Motegi - Super speedway track... 100lap endurance race.

I originally won it with my black Toyota GT-One.

hmmm should we call that a bug or should we call it amazing?

Call it normal because your not burning off your front tires and sucking gas with that massive stage4. A better approach would be fully lightening the car, a suspension tune and fine tune the gear ratios.

I had no problem at all with the super speedway enduro, used the Minolta and pitted every 25 laps, a couple of the other cars did 35 laps in a stint, but ended up pitting within the last 10 laps, one even on the last lap.
I found it best to screw the wings nearly fully down, and put the TCS to 10, also to lower the suspension to 10 above the minimum.Otherwise, you get far too much wheel-spin, and the car goes out of control in the tight corner.

The same thing happened to me.The 905 pitted only once while i had to stop 3 times.I still won but he didn't make it very easy for me.For once i had to push really hard,i was driving the PlayStation Pescarolo.

The thing was,he was way faster than everybody else.If he did have Super Hard tires he wouldn't be that fast.He lapped everybody twice. The field consisted of the Sauber C9,Toyota 7,Nissan R89C,Minolta Toyota,Peugeot 905 and me with the Pescarolo.
