100,000 member update!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh its now 91,946!.....some party should definately happen when we reach the 100,000 mark! Its true though that there are probably only about 200-300 users who are constantly active memebers..... the rest may have just signed up to get videos, info or ask the odd question.....pity, would be cool to have 90,000 constantly participating although the site would probably crash! Is was on the brink just having 1,500 members on all at once during the GT4 launch!

Thats alot of members, anyone fancy looking through the member list and checking to see whos posted >10 and recently? :lol:
Maybe a thread would do, 'active users post here to show your active'? would that be seen as spamming? 1 post per person..? Although theres no guarentee that everyone would post, or even see the thread.

Ah well, back to reality, the party sounds like a good idea to me. Free premium for #100,000 even though they would probably turn out to be one of the in-active member who never posta again :lol:
 
You'd have people creading duplicate accounts right near the 100,000th member mark.

yeah GTPlanet would probably crash

There would probably be a lot during the gt5 launch aswell
 
We'll have to wait until next year for the GT5 launch though.

But you're right, GTP will probably crash if 100,000 people were on.

Nah, it wouldn't crash. It would be laggy as all hell though. You thought tribalfusion was slow? You ain't seen nothing yet!

While I agree that 100,000 members is something of a landmark, it really doesn't mean all that much. As has been pointed out previously, about a tenth of a percent are actually active. Besides, as we get really close to the 100K mark I'm sure we'll be getting a flood of multiple accounts being created which only dilutes whatever meaning the number has even more.

it must be popular in March, because the most users online at once was March 2005, then the record was broken in March 2006

92, 033 and counting...........
 
March was when GT4 reached the "Greatest Hits" so I think people bought them and were looking for guides n stuff.

I noticed by looking through the member list that many users have never posted. I'm sure it has something to do with viewing videos and pictures. I recall not being able to view any before I was a registered member. That may have something to do with it.

I still think it'd be interesting to find how many active members GTPlanet has. An exact count of how many registered members have actually made more than 10 posts.

He got a temporary ban for it. Now though it's all good, and George is a good member.

because they weren't on the main member page, (and even if they were i wouldn't search all 9,500 pages because you can't sort them) i couldn't find which one does have the most, that's just from what i saw

mine is 2.24 because i forgot about gtplanet and wasn't here for aabout 4 months, but i haven't missed a day since then:p

except when we went on holiday to the Gold Coast and when our computer was down
 
I'm at about 1.12 post per day because I signup at GTplanet in 2004 but I
couldn't post untill 2005 because of AOL.
 
With GTHD news now flowing out of Japan, I believe by the next gaming convention or E3 '07, we'll have at least 3-4,000 over the 100,000 mark.

You'll probably find many members are the same - maybe even more hours - yet have a lower PPD count - me included.

Once GTHD is released, the 100,000 member mark will be reached very quickly indeed... :)

Lol, you've been talking about my high post count in this thread while someone else posting in this threads post count is higher :lol:.


By the way, I'm at 17.78, only becuase I'm active everyday for 3+ hours, anyway, I've gone down from my highest 18.27, and I'm aiming for 15 or lower by January 2007.

GTPlanet gets around fifteen new members a day (13 already today), so it's going to take awhile from now to get 100,000 members. It could be over a year yet.

the night before last night, (when i typed that list) there was 92, 505, 36 hours later, they've got 50 more new members, so we're getting more than 1 every hour

I used to just go around posting everyday for about 3 hours. Now that I'm in Grade 11, school is really starting to be busy and plus I have to work and have time for my gf, so I'm only active once every 3 days now.

It would take a long time for my post count per day to go down to 15 LOL!
 
i'm in grade 7, and it's the middle of the school holidays, so i'm normally on for about 8 hours a day maybe during the holidays:drool:

but it's back to school next week:(
