I thought that the Peugeot 106 rally was a 1400 cc engine when on gt5 it says 1600 cc.is this a mistake? Cause the gti was 1600 cc not the rally

106 rallye is 1600cc and the s16 is 1600cc to... the difrent is only the 7-8hp on s16...

sorry for my bad english guys.

I have had a gti that has 30 more horsepower than a rally.the rally was basically a citroën saco furio but with a different gear box I'll look it up on google now

It's also not accurate because it's awesome, shouldn't it have an oil leak and a faulty alternator. Both my pugs had that IRL.

The S16 is a 1600 and the Rallye is as well

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peugeot_106

At the end of 1998, the Peugeot 106 range was reduced to the 1.1 L petrol (Independence, XN, XL, XT Look or Zest 1/2/3), 1.4 petrol (XR, Roland Garros or Quiksilver), 1.6 8v petrol (XS or Rallye) and 1.5 L diesel (XND) models as well as the 1.6 16v petrol (GTi).

Both of them are 1600cc
rallye has 8v engine in opposition S16 has 16v, this explains the difference in the horsepower.
Also in rallye edition peugeot have been remove all the accessories of comfort in order to decrease the weight to approach the driving behavior of a small rally car and in my opinion she achieved it.

''Jeremy Clarkson has said that maybe peugeot 106 is the best FF handling car.'' :)

The Rallye is not some Saxo in disguise or a lukewarm version of the GTi.
It's a car that was produced solely to be used in a junior rally formula. The Rallye is a stripped out driver's toy.

I don't know where you're getting the info guy's, but my friend had a 106 Rallye 1.3/1.4 for sure. Maybe there's a 1.6 too, but there is definitely a 1.3/1.4.

You are all right:

From 93 to 96, it was a 1294 cm3 engine. That is the Peugeot 106 rallye.
Then the Peugeot 106 was restyled, along with a new engin (1600 cm3): the peugeot 106 Rallye Phase 2.

Now that all is clear, the best peugeot rallye has always been for me the original one: Peugeot 205 Rallye. 103CH, 790 kg, a virtual race car, used heavily in hill climb races. That car didn't have anything, NO accessory at all.

jesus, i don't know what it is. but i LOVE tiny european hatchbacks. even though the above pictured car is, i'm sure, slow and uncomfortable, i WANT one. i'm sure it's brilliant around town

I'm British and European hatchbacks are everywhere you look.106 gti s are not slow they keep up with imprezas around the streets.I had the citroën saxo vtr 1.6 100 bhp.for a small car that weighs less than a tun with 100 bhp under the bonnet they are really quick in 1st and 2nd gear.little chav cars but great fun.just like a go cart

I thought I was right.the phase 1 106 rally had the same engine as saxo vtr(phase 2)but with a different gearbox.

No. The 106 XS had the same 1360cc TU3 engine that was also used in the Saxo, the Rallye used the 1294cc TU2 engine from the 205 Rallye with the inevitable emissions changes.

Didn't ever get chance to drive a phase 1 Rallye unfortunately. Given how much better the phase 1 106 and Saxo drove over the phase 2, I can imagine it was pretty good.

Well, slow is all relative to how and where something is used. Skateboarding and ski-ing are slow but they can still scare enough to be fun, same goes for something like the 205 Rallye. You're bang on with uncomfortable though, at least when the roads are enough fun ;)

A mate of mine has an S1 106 Rallye which had a GTI engine and brake transplant (with the standard Rallye gearbox, closer ratios don't you know), Group N rally suspension and Toyo R888's (cut slicks, basically), the thing is a rocket, surprisingly!

I'm pretty sure the engine his model used to have was a 1.3/1.4 8v, designed to be cheap to upgrade or replace for rallying from what I've read, then the S2 was upgraded to a 1.6 8v, whereas the GTI has always had a 1.6, I think. Maybe the S1 GTI had an 8V 1.6 so the equivalent Rallye had to be crippled to avoid cannibalising GTI sales, because if they both had the same engine then the GTI would have been ignored... That's just conjecture, though, I don't know if there was even an S1 GTI at all.

Saxo furio and 106 quicksilver shared the same engine.saxo vtr engine was purely for that model.1.6 8v 100 bhp.saxo vts and 106 gti shared the same engine phase 1 and 2.however the 106 rally had the same engine as saxo furio with different gearbox which made it faster.you slam a 1.1 saxo gearbox in a saxo vtr/vts it will make it hell of a lot quicker but with the high risk of damaging the gearbox.I'm sure the 106 rally had the same 1.4 engine but with different gearbox(which is why rally's are so quick it's not the engine as such it's the gear ratios).or so I was told by a friend who used to have one.

I'm a fan of the 306 Rallye, shame they weren't in the game :ouch:

After some research, the 1.3l engine is the same used in both 106 rallye 1 and 205 rallye. It was actually an evolution of the engine used in the Citroen AX sport, with 8 CH more.

BUT the AX had a monster advantage, its weight: 715 kg !!!

Love all the 106s - sweet cars.

Used to have an XSi (1,4 - 95 hp) back in the 90s.

As it has already been said the first 106 Rallye was 1,3 and then the facelift (GT5 model) was 1,6. So the game is accurate.

Just a tip for those who may have tuned the **** out of them in the game:

I have an S16 in the game with 280 hp (full turbos etc.) which steers beautifully by using Sports Hard in front and Comfort Softs in back. Try it because using same compound front/back causes massive power understeer and takes away all the fun.
