I have a panasonic pte500 projector HD. I have component cables running from the projector to my yamaha reciever. PS2 with original video and audio cable into my yamaha reciever.

what do i do?

should i buy monster cables for PS2 or is there a cheaper alt. and how do i run it 1080i mode??

help me please need a good setup

You can switch to 1080i mode in the Options screen. But, if your screen/display can't support it, it will revert back to "Normal". At least, that's my experience.

I've never really seen the point in paying for Monster Cables. You could give this one a shot.

You need to buy the component cable output for the PS2. The 1080i or 480p HD signals will not route through the regular composite PS2 cable. As far as getting the Monster component cables vs the Sony, I find that the Sony works just as good.

The Sony component cables work fine.

Monster justifies itself by using math and charts. You take two identical setups, wire one with "standard" cabling and the other with Monster cabling, and the average Joe Blow Consumer will see no difference. Unless you tell him which one has Monster cables; then he'll be able to "pick out" differences, which are all in his head because Monster cables are only superior on paper. The real world difference is negligible at best. :dunce:

This is the first I've heard about 1080i out of the Playstation2. If you can't get it with the composite cables how do you connect it to get 1080i?

You have to get a PS2 signal cable that has the Red Green and Blue connectors on it, connected to an HDTV that has the RGB Component inputs. Be careful, some televisions have the RGB inputs, but aren't HD.

Ok, I was just a little confused. When he said it wouldn't work with the "regular composite" I was thinking I needed another cable besides the RGB composite cable. I guess he was saying it wouldn't work with the regular component cables. I got it now, thanks.
