150mph, flat out into a corner on a motorcycle?

Epic. I think everyone at the Isle of Man TT has balls of steel.

I'm sat with a look of complete disbelief, I've watched the TT coverage a fair few times but this footage really puts into perspective what the riders are doing out there, completely insane.

I couldn't watch that without swearing. Those bikes are going FAST, on a road without sand traps or guard rails.

That was 🤬 insanity! Those guys have two of these as balls......

:D

Bike riders are quite simply not 'all there'. I'm always stunned by their levels of bravery and skill and their complete disregard to the fact that taking a corner like that leaves absolutely no margin for error. Real heroes if you ask me.

The TT > any other road race

Fastest ever Senior TT lap onboard. Looks every bit as quick as in the vid at the top when you're tucked behind the screen! You just have to see how much time the front wheel stays in the air...:

Part 1

Part 2

I make no apologies for Guy Martin's accent for anyone who 'as trouble understanding 'im...

Damn. Do you think even a Formula 1 car could keep up? I mean...on a track, most cars could outrun a bike of equivalent tune, but on the Isle?

Me No Thinkey So. >:

Question (related to a possible RWS fic idea,): Does the course cross the lines of any of the heritage railways?

A person needs epic balls to do this in a rally car. I'd do it, but only after serious safety checks.

And these guys are racing on bikes.

And jumping.

Pretty much the most dangerous motorsports there is... absolutely insane.

'get y'sen sorted out'

I have SO MUCH respect for the people who run the TT, it's scary just to watch! This has to be some of the purest motor sport I've ever seen, your life is in your hands, no nannys, no hans device, no crazy wings, no restrictor plates. Just you and the bike. This really is something!

I do, a 2008 spec car, I would imagine, would probably go a bit quicker through there.

That corner is plenty tighter than the one the bikes are taking.

The Island is too bumpy for an F1 car - it would be next to useless.

And yes - the railway crosses the road at The Bungalow (on the mountain)

Agreed, an F1 car would be too low to ride the bumps round the IOM... what you'd need to give the bikes a bit of a run is something like the Porsche 956 that Stephan Bellof used to set the all time 'Ring record.

A couple of weeks ago I was watching TT on the channel HD Theater. That stuff is so crazy. Me and my dad watched it in pure amazement, with our jaws on the ground like for the whole hour the show was on.

I'm cracking up just tuning out the bike and listening to the sounds he's making. What sort of accent is that?!

The accent is from the North West of England... Lancashire. Same place as Foggy comes from and a breeding ground for super fast bike riders for some reason.

Guy Martin is in this month EVO magazine... he doesn't own his own house... but he does own an Aston Martin V12 Vantage.

Interesting guy... repairs trucks for a living and like a lot of bike racers, doesn't ride a road bike.

Guy Martin:. Nurburgring!!? WTF is that?

17 minutes of the most intense motor racing I have ever seen. Truely epic. 30cm from concrete wall doing 180mph with a tank slapper on!!? Mens men!

Yeah, I bought that issue of Evo (loads of great features in it, more so even than normal). That one entertained me though. I've an issue of a motorcycle magazine somewhere in which he raced against a guy on a Yamaha R1 up the country... he was driving a Skoda Felicia diesel  I can't remember who won but I know it was close...

Probably one of my favourite motorcyclists and a great character.

As for why Lancashire is great breeding ground for motorcyclists, it's probably something to do with the Isle of Man being a short ferry hop away...
