This is nuts. Absolutely nuts. I knew there would be an overwhelming amount of traffic from the new game, but I had no idea it would be like this. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, or something that "just happens". It's just kind of shocking, really.

It's overwhelming... I can't keep up. Not even close...

I've given up - I lurk a little but that's it....

Well I think that primarily has to do with a moderator authorizing several at the same time, but it's just mind boggling how many threads are being created. I guess it's good they're filtering them.

Jordan recently fixed the issue with moderator approved threads poping in when they were created as opposed to when they were approved. Now the threads show up as they are approved.

keep in mind, that I have been deleting in the realm of 60%-80% or the threads that hit the queue. So figure 18 threads approved, actually means 60 were posted, and 42 were not approved.

:O

In that run of 18, I'd say I approved about 1 out of every 2-3. Sometimes the odds are better, sometimes worse. However, with all the threads appearing at the top of the index, we will try to review and approve them in smaller doses from now on.

This has been happening for ages...Ever since the NTSC release.

And trust me, us PAL members have already noticed and discussed it. But we all knew it was to be expected.

[EDIT] Ok, Just noticed than none of them had replies, but it's no surprise seeing that many GT4 related threads in a row.

Well that's because they had all just shown up (:

Thanks to the posts from the two Mods. I think it's interesting to see / know how the interworkings of the whole site go on.

That is what it is the mods get to them and there is like 20 just waiting to be approved... I hate the whole MOD needing to approve it thats crap!

So you'd rather wade through 100/hour totally redundant/useless threads to find some decent information?

I'll pass, thanks...

The Mods here are overwhelmed, and frankly I think they are doing a superb job, considering the amount of work they are doing, with no pay, apparently very little gratitude, and little reward other than the fact they are trying to keep the servers from toasting themselves into oblivion.

Well, you see the big X at the top right of your screen.....

👍 to the mods/admins

Its wierd b/c all of the replies are also at the same time.

Right now it's 11:40 Central time and there are 360 people viewing the GT4 forum. With that many people viewing it, it's not hard to imagine 30 people replying to different threads within a short amount of time. I can't imagine what it is like during peak hours.

Just as well the 360 didn't all decide to post a new topic otherwise the Mods would have gone on strike!

How thorough is the Moderating? Are the Mods stretched too thin?

We're pretty well covered at the moment. We've just added Swift as a dedicated Moderator for the drifting boards, which will take the load off of Der Alta, me, and the rest of the SMs a bit. While many of us are located in the US, we also have SMs in Europe, Africa, and the Pacific, so we get pretty good time zone coverage as well.

So start your own forum and make it better (:

Was that intentional?

If it was then thats very good planning 👍

If it wasnt then you just say it was :p

Different time zones were considered but I did not make it a deciding factor when adding new Super Moderators.

That's what I figured. And now everyone gets to wonder why this impecible member had a post deleted.

The world shall never know ...

I will. I read the post!

Bwah hah ha ha ha ha ha!
